Thanks Chloe I was struggling to improve my dolphin kicks and this video helped me a lot. please don't stop and continue with more videos about butterfly.
I am 61-years old...I am very hard of hearing and I wear hearing aids....but I could hear the audio on this video just fine....what is wrong with some people these days....I learned physics and math with a slide rule...about the only thing we had to improve our athletic performance was reading a research paper by Doc Counsilman at Indiana....think about trying to learn the dolphin kick by just reading a paper on how to do it.....we had no underwater video capabilities.... we did not have UA-cam videos to easily teach us things like this video does....and many people on here are complaining about the audio.....haters.....I found this to be an excellent video....leave the criticisms in the locker room....great video...my rant is over
I am an older swimmer who learned to swim in the past couple of years from you tube. Trying to learn the dolphin kick now and this has been very helpful. You are a good teacher
I love the inside-out flip turn drill. I really feel a strong workout my core when I incorporate this into my session. This gives me some variety instead of just always doing inverted dolphins at the surface of the water. It's nice to cycle the inside-out flip turns into my workouts. Thank you!
Great Chloe, you've helped me out a lot. Now I'm "gliding" in the water much longer and swims are turning now into a therapy of its own with breathing and thought technics that take my practice into a different realm of consciousness. Too bad sound was too saturated. Next time try using a compressor not volume to get the most out of your voice track. Again thank you.
Absolutely love this video. The dolphin kicks looks so amazing. My fave is the complete stop with a flip turn and dolphin kicking to start up again. Wow. Thanks so much!
This move saved my life once. I got caught in a current in the ocean in Santa Monica CA, with my daughter standing on the sand I fell in the ocean and waves going out took me almost in the middle part of the ocean.I could hear my daughter crying mom mom. Feeling My feet leave the sand scared the hell out of me. My daughter was 7 years old at the time. It was nearly impossible to get back on the sand. I was getting tired of fighting the water and I am no swimmer trust me. I looked down in the water something was very near me. But as a 911 operator I was trained to stay calm. What was near me I thought it was a shark. But it turned out to be a dolphin she jump up and want under water almost right next to me.I copied her move and was able to get out of the water. That was really and experience. So I learn this move very well. And it was taught to me by a dolphin. This still amazes me to this day. And my daughter is now 35. God is great! My daughter says she remembers that day.
@@saudalameel4329 you can sure all you want if you do believe it that's your problem! Then you don't believe what God has done throughout the Bible. Keep not believing and watch man destroy the earth. I bet you will start believing. God use his animals when he see fit. They are not just put on this earth for food and torture. And no I don't eat meat. There have been diver's in deep water in trouble and a humpback whale came and helped them. I guess you think that's not true? Well I don't care what you think. But I am grateful for that dolphin and I thank God for sending her. You can say what you want. But that was not you in that water with your only child standing there not knowing if her mom was going to make it are not. So grow your ignorant ass up.
Sandra Gayle lol you types are always so funny. You just can’t possibly realize how easy it is to tell how much your lying. One of the number one rules of telling if someone is lying about something is how much details they put in their statements or stories. Also I love how you turn to god immediately. I wonder how he he will look upon you as you constantly lie to those around you.
@@spartananator4191 I think it is gods, plural. I was scuba diving and the boat was really rocking. I was having problems walking in fins and tank aft to jump in. I yelled out FU Neptune. Big mistake. Big wave outta nowhere knocked me down, spraining my ankle and cutting my knee. I paid for this dive I'm going in. The group was puzzled why the dolphins split and sharks showed up. Moral of this story is don't dive while bleeding and dolphins are useless.
Thank you so much! I’m a butterflyer but my dolphin kick isn’t that great so the underwater slowed me down. I had to resort to a short underwater and come up after only a small amount of kicking. This is definitely going to be useful, I can tell how it’s going to help me improve before I even try it! I can’t thank you enough 😇
great vid. i am an adult leaner, learning skills from internet vid is one of my few options for improvement. hunders of videos watched, by far, your videos are one of best ones that helped me most. thank you.
My swimming teacher told me to do Dolphin kicks with the entire body after the dive but didn't really go in deeper than that. This video really breaks it down to the component parts. Will try out the drills when the pool is less busy. Super thanks.
Thank you so much Chloe! You are like a second coach to me! Thanks to all of your amazing videos I made it to my first championship meet! I did good in it too! My name is Lena and I'm 10 years old and I love your channel! Keep up the good work! 🏊💙😄
I think this is my favorite of your videos sofar ... and your videos are my favorite swim videos! Dolphin kick is one of the subtlest techniques. The Challenge Drill is the funnest drill to do ... especially in deep water like a dive well. Although a lifelong water-lover, at age 56 I really only started learning how to swim about 6 months ago ... thanks to your videos I've gone from a 48 minute mile when I started to a 32 minute mile six months later!
Wow! Amazing! I see why I am so slow in the water! It will take many years to master that technic! Now I have a progression to follow. Thank you! Amazing to see how propulsives legs can be in a dolphin kick.
Great information in your videos, but please...pleeeease invest in a proper external microphone? Whatever device you are using now only appears to capture the high frequences and it feels like my scull bone is going to crack when I watch the video. Apart from that you do an AMAZING job in explaining complex things in a very understandable manner. Keep up the good job!
I always hit my head or chin on the floor lol. Now I just put my hand to my sides so that it's always touching the flloor giving me an idea how close it is to my body =/
to be a good dolphin kicker you need to be mobile especially in the shoulders and ankles. if you’re too tight you won’t be able to get into an effective kick position without bending your knees so much and this markedly increases resistance and slows you down. try mobilization exercises for scapula and for ankles before getting into the water and see if that helps you.
Freestyle kicking is soooo hard what the hell i don't really feel like it's holding me back in practice, until i find the freaking kickboard. It literally takes me 35ish seconds to go 25m. Jesus christ.
wow.. Chloe is not a coach, yet the details and nuances in her dolphin kicking lesson are so amazing, very helpful.. also - progression and challenge drills, thank you so much !
Great video. The lesson is so detailed. You really swim like a fish, and especially when you were swimming underwater dolphin upside down. I shall follow your lesson to the tiniest detail, until i swim like you. Thank you, Chloe for this well organised lesson outline. This is the lesson outline that i have been missing in my arsenal.

Jeez, her exaggerated no arms caterpillar is faster than most peoples front crawls. Thanks for the great video Chloe. I'm glad to know that generating speed from a standstill is as hard as i was having with it. Felt like i should be able to generate speed within 1-2 kicks and that just wasnt the case. Makes me feel more confident about my kick.
Love this!! We’ve done the distance streamline drill. The kids really like it. Do you have advice for the kids that seem to tilt after they push off? It’s almost like their body rotates a little to one side. Thanks for the videos Chloe!
Inside-out flip turns: Brilliant---what an incredible drill! Also, remember fish and dolphin don't have any space at all between their "legs"--they have no legs!...just one big singular tail! Humans must try to look like and approach the physical features of sea animals if we want to best move through the water like they do (they're the 'experts---always do what the experts do). So, ALWAYS keep the legs tightly together when not flutter or breaststroke kicking, as a single leg creates less friction than two legs (ask any dolphin).
