You do a excellent job at getting info out to your viewers guys. You’re more like a tv show than a UA-cam video anymore, truly good stuff man! I know we all appreciate what you do.
I was thinking the same thing last night. Not too long winded, but explains a ton of material, love including part numbers. Plugs for sponsored items are smooth and not annoying. Like a very informative QVC clip, lol. This channel has really sped up my 1025r learning curve.
Over the past few years, you have become a hydraulic expert, Tim. Thanks for putting everything in Layman's terms, so the rest of us can understand it.
The wr long kit is a good 3rd function. That’s what my local dealer said they used. We bought ours for our 3032e for like $500 and haven’t had any issues with it.
Thank you Tim for explaining a complicated subject for most of us new tractor users....showcasing many different options and solutions and not just one and done...Merry Christmas to you and your family
Tim… my dad always said… You can’t get something for nothing! Hydraulics are the perfect illustration… you have to either trade off functions to gain versatility or trade a bunch of money to get all your functions… and in the end, you still take a bit of a hit it performance when you try to use all those functions at once… not to mention crowding your work area with hardware and controls. But, in the end, it is worth it if you need it! Nice job showing the options… great explanation too!
The last kit I show for both front and rear is as close as you’ll get to ‘something for notheing’.. both front and rear for less than Deere OEM front 3rd function.
The UA-cam algorithm just suggested this video. I had seen a video about adding a top link, but still had no idea how to drive the top link. This video gave me all my options. Thanks Tim!
I recently purchased a Yanmar YT235 and had the front and rear OEM hydraulics installed. I had the tractor for several months prior to the installation, due to supply issues. I also took your advice about having the rear tires filled with Rim Guard for ballast. I also had 2" spacers installed to widen the tractor for stability on slopes. I now believe that I have everything I could ever need on the tractor so that I am not limited in any way for any thing I would like to accomplish. I am very fortunate. I have learned so much from your videos, greatly appreciated for everything you show. I currently do not have any implements to use on the rear, other than a knack box I altered to utilize my quick hitch for ballast. (about 800#) filled with various tools to be used in the field. The only rear "implement" I have is a manual blade which I purchased for snow removal, but, I find I am using it for much more than that. I plan on planting a garden this spring at my daughter-inlaw's, Grandmothers farm, so I am wondering what you think I could use behind the tractor to turn the soil? I am looking for a 2-bottom plow but am only finding 3-bottom plows, do you think that this tractor is capable of plowing with a 3-bottom plow? (with or without coulter's)
I bet you had no idea you were going to so impactful for so many people when you started this channel. It's crazy how important this information can be for your audience.
Thanks Tim, very informative for the new owners of Sub Compact Tractors. I picked up my new 21 1025r a month ago, I chose the JD 3rd function for my grapple and any other front hydraulic needs and installed the JD Power Beyond for future expansion of the rear hydraulic options. The JD 3rd function is a very integrated system with hard line installation requirements but fits nice and is a clean install. The JD Power Beyond is integrated into the 3rd function system so if anyone is planning on taking the JD route, take note that it is beneficial to install both kits at the same time, that way you only have to disassemble the right side and floor boards and seating area of the tractor one time. Just thought I’d let some new owners know if they are still figuring this out, it took me a year to decide what and how I wanted to proceed as the sub compact hydraulic options were and still are evolving. Hopefully this will help someone down the line decide on what to do or what not to do!
I recently acquired a 2025R and I don't need/want additional front/rear hydraulics; I handle the sort of tasks you refer to (e.g. grapple, backhoe) with the hydraulics on my 4320 CUT. Nonetheless, this is great information. I appreciate the no-nonsense non-salesey approach. Thanks !
A divertor gives you variable flow control for the third function and a electric button gives you full flow only and the third function could operate quicker depending on the valve size and hose size. As you said , you can only use 2 our of the 3 functions due to limited hydraulic flow. A very informative epidode and I'm glad my tractor came with a diverter. Thanks for all the videos.
I bought my 3rd funcrion from WR Long and I have not had any problems at all and everything was plug and play and mine is hide under floorboard on my LS XR3135H MY kit was 700 dollars , I also have 2 sets of rear hydralics from factory ,
Depending on how much flow your pump produces, is a key to deciding whether you want a third function, or a splitter. You typically don’t have enough fluid flow to do two things at the same time.
Hey Tim, Ive got the OEM Deere 3rd Function for my grapple, what about an option similar to your 'cheapest rear solution' option from Discount Hydraulic Hose, but instead of using the loader SVC to run the hoses to the rear, you use the 3rd Function to run to the rear? That way you can still use your loader/bucket, and it would give you the option to run 3rd function in the front or in the rear.
Good point! The discount hydraulic hose kit will work the Deere third function. I have tried it that way. Sorry I failed to mention that! Too many options!
I just put the summit power beyond kit and the summit FR4-JD1 on my new 1025R. I wasn't thrilled with locating the 2 switches on the rops so i removed the switches from the box and installed them in 2 of the four switch spots on the console.. thanks for all the great suggestions Tim
We had our dealer move the hydraulic outlets to the back of our 1026r. We don't have a loader but we do have a offset flail mower from Orsi and a three point hitch mounted hydraulic dump bucket
I just pulled the trigger and ordered a 4 spool rear remote to put on my LS XJ2025. Hardest part was try to make sure I got the right fittings to go with the existing quick disconnect that is on my power beyond and backhoe. Summit Hydraulic sale team was great to work with. Now I have to say TTWT just cost me more money, it's is all his fault.
with my 2020 1025R id went with the deere front 3rd function, and i got the power beyond to hook up for a log splitter, or buying a 260B backhoe for it in the near future ...the 2 real plug & play..the manual turn nob actually impressed me even thou it's low tech, it also makes for less to go wrong...
A lot of information and good information. I’m trying to change my AF10 from manual angle to a power angle. Have stage 4 cancer and getting on and off tractor each time to change plow angle is getting tough. Thinking since all I need it for is the snow plow that a diverter valve or switch would fit my bill, but so dam confused. I just don’t know where to start
@@TractorTimewithTim can I ask just one more question, summit has diverter on sale and I think I might be able to handle that installation easier. Anyway my question is since hydraulic system is a closed loop system, couldn’t I connect to the left side curl cylinder instead of the right side cylinder, which has a lot going on with single point connection on that side, and not a lot of room.
Never heard of them connecting to the curl cylinder. As for left or right, the ‘divert’ would need to occur before either cylinder. So, you would have to evaluate the plumbing to ensure that.
can't really see the use yet - but I had my dealer install a "true third function" - they installed it in a kind of annoying location though - but I have no need for a grapple yet -
Only problem I can see with most of the Kits, is they don't seem to be compatible with my TekTite Cab on my 1026R and probably not compatible with the Mouser and other cabs used on the One Series.
I used the summit 4 valve kit that is installed on the rear of my mahindra. One valve uses long hoses to function as my third function. I had to use the generic kit and create brackets and hose/fitting combos as there was no kit for my tractor. I am very happy with my setup. I run a hydraulic top link, have plans for a hydraulic side link this spring and I will still have a spare valve for future use. Everything is plumbed thru my backhoe power beyond kit that was already on the tractor.
I would like to thank you for all the time you have taken to provide the information you have given us regarding the equipment individuals add to their equipment. Thank you for your help and time you put into your videos. Dean from Oregon
this tractor appears to be a newer one than you have been using I would like to say here to you and your subscribers that I finally pulled the trigger I just bought yesterday a 2021 1025R loader, backhoe, mower with a front snow blade and a ballast box . I cannot wait for them to deliver it!!!!!!!!! 😀
Great. I’ve been wondering about this kind of stuff for my 2017 2032R. What about better than JD OEM cylinders for rear 3 & 4 for tilt and raise box blade? Thank you
Great explanation of the difference between the available options. I do however find it crazy that deer does not include rear hydraulics for the price they are selling these tractors for. Most others include at least one set from factory.
nice video you answered ever question i needed too know.Thank you soo much,I recentally purchased a 2023 1025r tractor with a backhoe and was thinking about how i could add a front and rear remote for a grapple and a hydraulic top link for the rear, now i know with you sharing youre knowlege ,bless you
This was indeed a very helpful summary. I purchased the OEM Kubota kit for adding front hydraulics to my BX23S. It was a bit over $700 and a project, albeit manageable, to install and is very nicely integrated. Don’t understand why they don’t make one for the rear (eg for hydraulic top link). The EVK2-2 kit looks like the best solution but I know it has been designed primarily with the Deere 1025R in mind. I am concerned that the hoses and mounting will not be quite right for the Kubota, particularly keeping in mind the backhoe attachment and the (miserable) seat swivel requirement and clearances required. Your advice there would be most appreciated as well as a source for a suitable hydraulic unit to replace the manual top link. Thanks and best wishes for the holiday season! Very sorry to hear about Martha’s tail. I would really miss not being able to stroke our cat’s tail which (I think!) she likes.
I bought the JD Factory SCV Kit about 6 months ago. This does have hardliners and looks factory but it limits me to 1 set of rear remotes & YES the handle is in an awkward spot but I just use my elbow to actuate it for the most part. Mine was missing the actual control handle so I made my own out of a 200mm bolt that I cut the head off of and bent then I installed a Cue Ball on it and I was good to go. I don’t have the backhoe so this was my only option at the time. Quite pricey for what you actually get but I needed it!
Hey Tim, do you have an install video of the front 3rd function from Summit? Looking to put one on as the installation instructions aren’t the greatest from summit. I’m also wondering if a hydraulic line for lowering and raising the mower deck can plug into the summit 3rd function to operate the lower and raise while mowing. -Rick
This is the closest. Have you already purchased? If not, I would recommend the power beyond plus summit FRk-jd3 which is a front 3rd function with rear scv’s as well.
Thank you Christy and Tim, I have the first Summit diverter that you showed, it works great with my Worksaver grapple (GWT). Also I have the Summit rear remote kit (3) and will be installing it soon.
What about the mower hydraulic lift? My 1025R does not have one, but I want one. How best to implement mower hydraulic lift, and also allow for adding the front and rear hydraulic options in the most useful as well as the least expensive way.
Quick question: I have a JD 2320 without a cab. All I want to do is power a three-pt wood splitter. What do I need to get? I watched your video. Thanks!
No matter what you use, you will find the splitter quite slow. Not much hydraulic flow on these little tractors. Assuming your splitter has an open center valve on it already, you would need a power beyond kit. If the splitter does not have a valve, you need power beyond, plus one of these rear kits which plugs into the power beyond. I do not know if summit has a power beyond for 2320. Check aummit-hydraulics.com/ttwt there is a wizard of sorts there where you can step through the choices to get what you need.
like the old 140's you need front, rear and mid. no if's no and's no buts. loader, plow/blower, tiller, grader blade, mower, sickle , belly blade, sweeper, aerator, power dethatcher, field rake, land plane, soil conditioner, slit seeder, broadcast spreader, log splitter, grapple, boom lift
Thank You Tim. I am looking for a set of extension hoses to go between the power beyond and the backhoe, I want to adjust the position of the backhoe without getting the tractor all the way mated to the backhoe. Or a second option, do you know of a commercial small electric or gasoline hydraulic pump/valve device I could roll up to the BH and adjust it's position? Thanks Steve
The desire for a hydraulic top link for my 1025R drove me to investigate this. Your videos on the hydraulic options and hydraulic top links let me make the decision on what would meet my current requirement and provide options for future needs. I’m adding the JD Power Beyond along withe Summit Hydraulics EVK2-JD1 and the AgriStore top link with check valves and hose kit. I have considered the HydroPlus Stg2 hydraulic upgrade, but decided to wait and see how the current upgrades work. Thanks for all the help!
I also added the EVK2-4 but don't have the power beyond. Why can't I just run hoses from the EVK2-4 straight to the pump and joystick (same place the power beyond connects)? Maybe I'm missing something. Any parts I need besides hoses? @@TractorTimewithTim
@@davidnow2559as long as you keep one continuous loop you will be fine. Funny thing is, summit power beyond is the same price as two hoses…the right length, comes with instruction and includes a bracket for the hose ends/couplers. Seems like silly NOT to buy the PB kit.
Love the 4-button control on the loader stick. I have a JD2032R and been looking for over a year for a 3rd function and now want rear hydraulics for a flail mower, snow blower and a hydraulic top link. JD OEM is over $1400 just for the 3rd function not counting labor at &138/hr and 6 hrs. The rear 4th & 5th is another $1300 plus. Sounds like the Summit FR3-JD1 would be my solution to get 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th functions on my tractor. If I understand you correctly would this be what I want or need? I only have about 50 hrs seat time and certainly no mechanic but handy enough that I can figure things out. Do you have any videos about the hydraulics for JD2032R?
You are going to spend more than that at a dealer on just getting a factory OEM 3rd function. I think a lot of them are going for 14 to $1600. I think that is the going rate for both John Deere and Kubota.
I have a John Deere 3043D and have the factory installed rear remotes for Hydraulics and 3rd function connection for a grapple. What is the best choice to add a rear set of hydraulics and detent control to turn on and off a hydraulic motor on a 3 pt potato digger?
My seat i have to turn the seat around to use the backhoe. We it works on my 2017 1025r I would like to get front and back. Which Hyd . I don’t know which kit do I need.
Great video. Have watched couple times trying to understand all this for my future tractor purchase. Plan on buying used at this time as there is a pretty good supply of used here in WI. Hoping the market prices do not go berserk w/ all this weird covid stuff affecting supply.
Tim, Very informative. Are any of these solutions applicable to Ventrac? The question being how to get more use out of the rear of the ventrac. A suggestion for a future video is to show which non-Ventrac Cat 1 implements are compatible with use by a Ventrac. Thanks.
@@TractorTimewithTim Tim, thanks for responding so quickly. Do the rear hydraulics on the Ventrac need "beefing up" in any of the ways you discuss in the video? Maybe its just me, but I think it would be good visually to see you demonstrate use of non-Ventrac Cat 1 implements, both hyd driven (non-pto) and non-hyd implements, on Ventrac. Thanks again.
Hey Tim, I like that solution that’s good for both front and rear. I believe it was Power and beyond I have a 2025R and interested in the same set up that you were showing. It sounds like I can keep my backhoe on as well. What was the numbers for that kit, thanks a lot. I truly appreciate your videos.
I sadly got the diverter early on before the rear solution was available so I have 2 to the rear and front 3rd function, can I trade the diverter in for the 3rd function coming out of the rear lol, very nice video
Can you explain the correct connections for using a backhoe with this solution..it seems that you can't just plug both lines into the Summit and run the backhoe off it.
This is such a great reality check to anyone who thinks they know it all. We definitely have and are being visited by Extraterrestrials, have Entities among us, and have Biological Entities who are living here. Right on Chris. You're always on point.
Great, thorough video, Tim. Appreciate all the time you do explaining the options. I know a lot of time goes into these videos. Stay healthy, please pray for my father who’s intubated in the ICU with covid.
Hey Tim here's a real stupid thought or question. How about on the joy stick coupler ends what about getting or making up some T type couplers. That way you wouldn't have plug and unplug ends and switch all the time.
@@TractorTimewithTim yeah I just thought of that and then jumped the gun 2. HM1 JD1 saw that next. Just saying here should upgrade or try to upgrade to an HM2 JD1 for those of us that want 2 rear SCVs just a thought
Just have to say I absolutely love all of your videos. So refreshing, to the point, well spoken, etc. And you are a huge reason I bought a new John Deere 2025R. It is much better than my neighbors B2601 too. He is quite jealous when he sees all the features.
Thank you for the summary of the options. One thing I would like to clarify is the addition of the power beyond function to a tractor. Am I correct in assuming that this can be added to any tractor with the power beyond hydraulic kit added? Thank you..
I have been considering front hydraulics for my Bx 2380 . Now after watching your video I’m going to now look into hydraulics for both front & rear. Thankyou so much for putting out this informative video. Merry Christmas & God bless!
Tim, you do a great job of teaching what and how. Still, I got a bit confused when you explained how the backhoe connects after installing the Summit unit. I have a JD 2038R with Power Beyond and a backhoe. Did you mean to say that the backhoe attaches to the Summit unit or, installing the backhoe requires me to disconnect the Power Beyond and use that to operate the backhoe? I have held off on buying an aftermarket hydraulics unit, it seems that there is an almost monthly refinement and improvement to the units. The other thing is that all the offerings are specifically tailored to the 1 series tractors. I don't recall that your JD 2038R has anything except the Power Beyond for the backhoe. The last thing, although a hefty investment, the Summit pricing seems to be reasonable considering what you are getting.
Which setup would you recommend for me? I have an older JD 4600 with FEL and backhoe attachment. Backhoe is powered by the power beyond. FEL has The JDQA.
I love your channel. You haven’t steered me wrong with attachments that I need to accomplish my tasks on the small farm. I was thinking of having back hydro for the Frontier MC21
Hey. I have the 2012 1026R TLB. I have a third front hydraulic but need rear hydraulics specifically for my box blade. I’m thinking two cylinders - top link and one side link. The Summit’s system looks great mounted to the ROPS but I need to know if it will interfere too much with my operating space for my backhoe. I have the original backhoe without a seat where my seat swivels to the rear for backhoe operation. What cylinders would I need please?
I need a tractor time with Tim in Red. Mahindra red. 26 Max xlt. I have the backhoe. So I believe the last kit with front and rear might be adaptable. The Turbo is another story. I’m Green with envy
I am considering a Summit TFK-JD1 for my 1025r. I do not have power beyond, OEM or aftermarket. The reason I have for choosing a TFK rather than the DVK is for the true 3rd SCV. In my case for a grapple, that would admittedly be used only occasionally. My question comes from the part of your video that describes a Discount Hydraulics hose set that connects to one of the loader spools to provide a cheap solution for rear hydraulic ports. Would it not be possible then to use the same concept, albeit slightly longer hoses, to instead extend the little used front 3rd function spool to the rear when the grapple is not in use?
Tim, have you seen or heard of anyone using the OEM Deere deck lift to run a grapple arm, or modifying the hyd circuit in that part of Johnny to install a 3rd function? I Ordered my '17 1025R with the hydraulic mower deck lift, it used an electric button below the light switch to lift the deck. I had high hopes that i could form it into a third function, but it was a poor option even for the deck lift. I was not satisfied with it and bought the part so the 3 point lever would control my deck lift.
I do not know. I would not want the grapple control there anyway. You’ll find a 3rd function from summit-hydraulics.com/ttwt to be quite cost effective. Use code ttwt for a five percent discount.
Tim, can you do an episode on 30-32-38 add ons for hydraulics and install? I had a 1025R but traded for a 3032E and I havn't seen any add ons or hydraulic how to.
Do you want rear hydraulics added as well as front 3rd? I would suggest that. summit-hydraulics.com/product/rear-hydraulic-valve-kit-with-front-third-function-for-john-deere-1-2-series-tractors-two-spool-three-spool-four-spool/ Don’t forget code ttwt!
Tim, I'm thinking about getting the FR4-JD1 kit. You mentioned that the lines from the bottom pair of elbows went as far as the the mid connection point. Are the lines from there to the loader cross arm equipment connection point also included? You weren't too clear about that. Thanks, I enjoy your videos and picking up on new ideas.
I bought front diverter kit when it first came out I love the trigger on it. I just purchased the rear kit 2 function both are Installed on a 2025r now bow fit tight, mountings, would be cool if I could put them together sorta like the rear option offers now. They both are great products, have about 1200 invested in both, thanks for a great video
Tim, our jd 2032r has 3rd function and power beyond installed. Power beyond only has full pressure when rockshaft is down. Is that the typical installation?
Make sure you have the return line attached to ‘R’ instead of T line. But yes, there should be no pressure on the power beyond unless something downstream (3 point is the only downstream valve) is under pressure.
More help, please! I have a 2025R with 3rd function for a front grapple. I want to add a hydraulic top link now and the HM1-JD1 looks like the right solution. The gap in my understanding (maybe I need a schematic) is which hoses actually connect where. Currently my grapple hoses connect to the 3rd function in the SCV located next to my right foot (pedals). If I add this kit, do I run new, longer grapple hoses all the way to the kit? Or ??? Thanks so much, Tim. I'm so close to getting this right!
The hm1-jd1 is a bit cumbersome. Plug in to two of the couplers below the hydro pedals (mid couplers for the loader. Run them to the back…to the electric valve,..then run a set of hoses BACK TOWARD THE MID COUPLERS….and connect those to your loader…3rd function diverter is ON the loader, right? Hope this makes sense.
Thanks so much,@@TractorTimewithTim . I guess Summit discontinued that model anyway, but this was very helpful. I'm learning so much everyday from you and my other fav youtubers (Rockhill Farm and Good Works Tractors, to name two). I love this journey I'm on. Thanks again.
Thank you, @@TractorTimewithTim. I have a power beyond kit on my tractor already, but I'm not sure what remote I'd use to control a hydraulic top link if I hook up to the power beyond I already have. It's controlled by my backhoe joysticks. Sorry to keep dragging you through this, Tim.
@@tractorjackiego to the 19:15 or so mark in this video. We also have several other videos on this kit. The kit provides it’s own control valves. It can be connected in series with the backhoe so that both work at the same time if necessary. The power beyond is simply an extension of the tractor’s hydraulic loop. You can think of the hydraulic system as a big loop. Valves are then hung off of that loop. If all valves closed, then the oil flows freely through the entire loop. If any valve opened, some of the oil is diverted to the load (power top link for example), and the rest of the oil continues through the loop. Make sense?
I like your lifting tests of front loaders and rear attached implements, but how can I increase the lifting ability of my 1025R rear 3 pt. hitch? I have a heavy snow blower that I can barely lift. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Hi Tim. Great video, thanks. 2012 1026R TLB. Where do I order the appropriate cylinders for the top and side links on my rear quick disconnect I use on my box blade. I’m ordering the EVK2-4 from Summit Hydraulics
Excellent video Tim! I'm salivating over that front & rear solution. I didn't understand the controls though. From what I could tell you have 3 rear and 1 front, but you had 2 sets of buttons (for 2 valves) and 2 switches. Are those switches rocker switches? I was thinking you needed two switches just like the two buttons on the joystick for each valve, but if so then you are missing a set of switches for valve 4. Sorry if my question is clear as mud.
Ok, I get your confusion. We have 4 sets of controls in total. 2 of them are on the joystick (the 4 buttons) the other two are the momentary switches on the box. On the rear of the tractor, we have 4 valves total. 3 with connectors for the rear. One (the elbows) will be routed to the front for grapple. The joystick will control the front one, and one of the rears. The momentary switches will control the other two rear valves. I hope that helps to explain it.
Man this was an extremely well thought out set of knowledge and options. Great job. I have the JD 3rd function and installed by JD dealer. Wow, like you said it is so well integrated into the 1025R platform. I also like the joystick control. Couple of buts:1- the install costs more than the 3rd function. Yep pretty much took the tractor apart. 2- the hydraulic/electric gizmo is installed very close to the fly wheel access under the tractor. This makes turning the flywheel very cumbersome to get that crazy buried zerk fitting on the front drive shaft ( wish they come up with another solution to access that zerk). As always thanks for doing what you do.
I went with the Artillian kit nd the hoses that are fed through the loader arm are too short! According to where they want the quick disconnects mounted, When i raised the loader all the way up it was trying to pull the hoses out of the diverter valve block.
@@TractorTimewithTim I knew they would but I just moved the diverter to the inside of the loader to keep it from being out in the open and moved the dis connects closer to the loader arm. I've got over 300 hours of trouble free use on it so far.
You need to have ‘continuous flow’ hydraulics available. That is often achievable. If you can get that, then the ‘power beyond’ options near the end of the video will work. Unfortunately, you’ll have to do the legwork to figure out how to connect to your tractor’s hydraulic system.
Hi Tim: Thanks for all the hydraulic videos, but after watching multiple videos i am stop unsure of adding functions. I currently have Jd’s 3rd function on the rear. I also have power beyond. What i would like to accomplish is true 4,5,6 ect functions. I want add 2 functions on the front and 3 more on the rear. Really unsure of what’s available.
What if you want a solution like you have for one to operate the thumb on a backhoe with out turning around to a switch . So you have a switch on the backhoe joy stick
Love your videos very professional and informative looks like I will drop some dough on the front and rear.cause I want the top and tilt and a grapple.. Also what is the bracket you have mounted on the side of you I-match quick hitch ?
Hello Tim, I am new to the tractor world so I have been catching up with all the info and learn as much as I can. I have always find your info and advice sound and accurate. I recently bought a 2017 3032E with 330 hours on it and I wonder if I can add the FR4-JD1 to enhance the performance of my tractor? Thanks.
I think so. I can’t remember when they started allowing backhoes on 3032e’s, so I’m not sure if power beyond is available. Start with your dealer. See if they can find a power beyond kit for it. If so, the FR kit will work beautifully.
@@TractorTimewithTim So it is best to order the PB kit from JD than from Summit? Does Summit offer installation instruction specific to the model (e.g. 3032E)?

I think a tiller is your best bet. You will love the results!
I bet you had no idea you were going to so impactful for so many people when you started this channel. It's crazy how important this information can be for your audience.
Correct. No idea. Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks !
Hi Tim,can the third function hydraulic at the front also be used fore the rare hydraulic top link using longer hose?
Yep. Get the appropriate hose kit at discounthydraulichose.com/ttwt use code ttwt for a 5% discount.
Thank you🙏🙏🙏
A divertor gives you variable flow control for the third function and a electric button gives you full flow only and the third function could operate quicker depending on the valve size and hose size. As you said , you can only use 2 our of the 3 functions due to limited hydraulic flow. A very informative epidode and I'm glad my tractor came with a diverter. Thanks for all the videos.
I bought my 3rd funcrion from WR Long and I have not had any problems at all and everything was plug and play and mine is hide under floorboard on my LS XR3135H MY kit was 700 dollars , I also have 2 sets of rear hydralics from factory ,
Thank You Sir for the time and expense You put into this video of really valuable and time saving information for all of us.
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, this one took lots of time.
@@TractorTimewithTim I’m sure there are even more options and styles… Good video and list!
Very well done Tim, with various alternatives based on the user preferences. More hydraulic connections are a wonderful thing 😊 Blessings.
The front 3rd function kit from summit is probably your best best.
@ thank you very kind sir may God bless you
@@TractorTimewithTim can I ask just one more question, summit has diverter on sale and I think I might be able to handle that installation easier.
Did you use code ttwt?
Thanks Tim you did a “GREAT “ job explaining the hydraulic on the 1025R . Ordering the Summit 4 valve kit for the rear. THANKS ‼️👍🏻
Thanks for the kind words! You’ll enjoy the summit kit! Don’t forget code TTWT.
Congratulations! Yes, it has 5 hours on it!
No, most others do not include in the subcompact size.
nice video you answered ever question i needed too know.Thank you soo much,I recentally purchased a 2023 1025r tractor with a backhoe and was thinking about how i could add a front and rear remote for a grapple and a hydraulic top link for the rear, now i know with you sharing youre knowlege ,bless you

The EVK2-x should work beautifully on the Bx.
@@TractorTimewithTim Thank you for that very quick reply. Any thoughts on sourcing the actual hydraulic actuator?
The summit EVK2-x contains all you need.
summit-hydraulics.com/ttwt please review our videos on this product.
@@TractorTimewithTim sorry I have not made myself clear. I meant the hydraulic cylinder to replace the top link.
Oh! Sorry. You need a bit shorter (18”-26”) cylinder than the 1025r needs. Not sure where to get it.
I have a 3032 with a backhoe, would like a front third function and at least 1 rear, maybe 2. I think you just solved my problem. Thanks for the info.
Yep! The FR3-KD1 is just what you need!
the hand held chain saw works great u can order a spare battery off amazon
So, I can add power beyond to work with existing jd third function? And then add SH kit for more flexibility?
Yep! On a 1025r, you can do that. Have that configuration on my 2019 Johnny.
I just installed a Summit kit on my 3025E to handle a snow plow this winter. Pretty easy install, but it is definitely not very elegant.
Hard to make this type of thing elegant !
Skip the hydraulic lift on the deck. It isn’t very desirable. The rockshaft connected lift is best.
Are all these momentary? What about detent operation on rear hydraulics?
There is no detent on these. Yes they are all momentary.
I’m curious to see how you would use detent.
Check aummit-hydraulics.com/ttwt there is a wizard of sorts there where you can step through the choices to get what you need.
like the old 140's you need front, rear and mid. no if's no and's no buts. loader, plow/blower, tiller, grader blade, mower, sickle , belly blade, sweeper, aerator, power dethatcher, field rake, land plane, soil conditioner, slit seeder, broadcast spreader, log splitter, grapple, boom lift
oh and rear high lift bagger or massive capacity bagger(40+ bushel)
Thank You Tim. I am looking for a set of extension hoses to go between the power beyond and the backhoe, I want to adjust the position of the backhoe without getting the tractor all the way mated to the backhoe. Or a second option, do you know of a commercial small electric or gasoline hydraulic pump/valve device I could roll up to the BH and adjust it's position?
Thanks Steve
I’ll work with discounthydraulichose.com z59 configure a set. How long do you think they need to be? I’m thinking 5’ each?

The desire for a hydraulic top link for my 1025R drove me to investigate this. Your videos on the hydraulic options and hydraulic top links let me make the decision on what would meet my current requirement and provide options for future needs. I’m adding the JD Power Beyond along withe Summit Hydraulics EVK2-JD1 and the AgriStore top link with check valves and hose kit.
I have considered the HydroPlus Stg2 hydraulic upgrade, but decided to wait and see how the current upgrades work. Thanks for all the help!
Sounds good! Thanks!
You addressed the oem front solution but what about the oem rear solution ?
Get a power beyond kit…then your options are endless via summit kits.
Really nice overview. I am surprised that the OEM hydrallics are still so limited at this time. The Summit solutions seem like a home run.
The FRK kit is a bargain. Front AND rear for $1100 or less with TTWT discount.
You are going to spend more than that at a dealer on just getting a factory OEM 3rd function. I think a lot of them are going for 14 to $1600. I think that is the going rate for both John Deere and Kubota.

Tim, Very informative. Are any of these solutions applicable to Ventrac? The question being how to get more use out of the rear of the ventrac. A suggestion for a future video is to show which non-Ventrac Cat 1 implements are compatible with use by a Ventrac. Thanks.
Hmm. Well, you can use any cat 1 3 pt implement which does not require a PTO.

Can you explain the correct connections for using a backhoe with this solution..it seems that you can't just plug both lines into the Summit and run the backhoe off it.
Yep...just plug the backhoe "in series" or "in line with" the summit kit. Works beautifully.

Hey Tim here's a real stupid thought or question. How about on the joy stick coupler ends what about getting or making up some T type couplers. That way you wouldn't have plug and unplug ends and switch all the time.
You likely don’t want the front moving when you are controlling the rear attachment

Thankyou so much for putting out this informative video. Merry Christmas & God bless!
We need to mount this kit on a bx…to test the fit.
EXACTLY THE INFORMATION I NEEDED! Thank you. Seriously looking at a 1025R.
PB -> summit in -> summit out -> backhoe in -> backhoe out -> PB tank port.
Sorry, I stumbled a bit on that, and did not communicate it clearly.
Great info, I personally would be looking to be able to adapt the FD4-JD1 to a 3032E for sure…thanks

Easy to do. Maybe I’ll show at some point
You could always trade :-)
Yep. Exactly the same approach is available. The same hose kit from DHH works with either approach.

Yes, they are included. All the way to the front of the loader.
@@TractorTimewithTim Thanks for the conformation. I studied the picture and then figured that 3 sets of lines would make it a complete install.

Needing hydraulics and wanting are two big differences. I need them for the front but I want a set for the back too.
That is the best part about the FR2 …front and rear for the price of front only (or close)

Make sense?
Have you heard of “tractor innovation”? I’m curious what you think about his design?
I like your lifting tests of front loaders and rear attached implements, but how can I increase the lifting ability of my 1025R rear 3 pt. hitch? I have a heavy snow blower that I can barely lift. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Excellent explanation. Better than my dealer ever explained. Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words.
Good useful feedback.
Thanks for the kind words!
I went with the Artillian kit nd the hoses that are fed through the loader arm are too short! According to where they want the quick disconnects mounted, When i raised the loader all the way up it was trying to pull the hoses out of the diverter valve block.
Contact Artillian. They will help you resolve.
@@TractorTimewithTim I knew they would but I just moved the diverter to the inside of the loader to keep it from being out in the open and moved the dis connects closer to the loader arm. I've got over 300 hours of trouble free use on it so far.
Are there any kits out there to fit older tractors (1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s) rear remote only. No ROPS.
Thanks
Kevin
You need to have ‘continuous flow’ hydraulics available. That is often achievable. If you can get that, then the ‘power beyond’ options near the end of the video will work.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to do the legwork to figure out how to connect to your tractor’s hydraulic system.
Wow, I really like that front and rear solution, and that joystick is awesome. I may have to sell my summit diverter and pick one up.
Yes, a nice step up from a simple front diverter.
Any chance kits for the 3 series specifically 3E are in the works?
Hi Tim: Thanks for all the hydraulic videos, but after watching multiple videos i am stop unsure of adding functions. I currently have Jd’s 3rd function on the rear. I also have power beyond.
What i would like to accomplish is true 4,5,6 ect functions. I want add 2 functions on the front and 3 more on the rear. Really unsure of what’s available.
Summit’s EVK and FR4 kits are worth a look. They both plug into power beyond. FR4 has front 3rd function.
What if you want a solution like you have for one to operate the thumb on a backhoe with out turning around to a switch . So you have a switch on the backhoe joy stick
Yes, you could put a new switched handle on your backhoe joystick. We might do that sometime just for fun.
Love your videos very professional and informative looks like I will drop some dough on the front and rear.cause I want the top and tilt and a grapple..
Also what is the bracket you have mounted on the side of you I-match quick hitch ?
BoltOnHooks chain holder.
I think Summit has the PB for the 3e now…so you can order it all from them.
Yes, they include instructions.
