Corey’s melody and incredible voice combined with the screaming and the amazing drums, Jay absolutely killed it. This reminds me of earlier Slipknot with Corey’s healthier voice. I’m so proud to be a fan. I can’t believe we get new Slipknot, new Korn… thank you artists!!!!!! Oh yeah Adele came out too 🥱😴🤪

Congrats on your marriage! The lyrics are really interesting too. A lot of people get caught up in the instrumental and Corey Taylor's screams as we should, but some of these songs Slipknot creates are lyrically absolutely brilliant. This one in particular was crazy. You should react to volbeat's new song. It goes harder than most of what they created. Coheed and Cambria Shoulders is great too so is the new Attack Attack EP. Trivium is touring. I saw slipknot recently. Also Slash never dissapoints with new music. Oh and Ice Nine Kills has new stuff out too you'll want to dive into. Enjoy!

I was diggin' this one. It definitely had some older Slipknot flavor mixed with new, a bit of Stone Sour to the chorus and just overall a vibe. They sure know how to come out swingin' with new music.
I know Slipknot rarely gets political with their songs but towards the end, there was a pseudo-breakdown with a sort of civil-war marching band drum section and Corey eith the heavy vox over it... I would love to hear them get into the military/drill sergeant-esque scene with their stuff, dude's got the pipes for it.

Is it just me, or does it seem like covid made many metal bands/hardrock bands kick up their game big time? Like damn, so many great albums this year it is crazy! Maybe it is just a coincidence, but feels like bands took more time to make better music. I kinda feel bad for only ordering Senjutsu, Bfmv self titled and in the court of the dragon for this year lol.
Trivium’s album was so damn amazing.
No touring on the road led to more time writing new music for most bands, so it inevitably led to a surge in fresh material coming out at the onset of loosening Covid restrictions. Alot of competition for breakthrough art out there right now...the playing field is WIDE open with all of these artists returning to form outta their old quarantine lifestyles🤘
2 big factors: no touring so bands had more time to write and hard times bring out the best art, especially in metal - there’s a lot to be frustrated about and they let it out through their music

I hear practically every single album's influence in this song, except for WANYK. It's an amazing blend of almost all of their catalogue which I feel is an awesome thing for a band to do especially thinking of how long Slipknot has been around. Perfect next step.

@@guiaugusto9162 Some of Sid's work really reminds me of that era, and the riffage in the chorus and the start of the second verse feel like a mix of Vol. 3 and All Hope is Gone to me. But that's just my interpretation. But it really is very clear that the song truly brings a lot of old stuff back and it's lovely to hear

I love that WANYK was kinda left behind in this song because it gives us something fresh and new compared to what we got a couple years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love WANYK, but I'm glad the knot decided to go with something new as well as combining their earlier albums with that new style.
If they released this on AHIG it wouldn’t be out of place
The drums might cuz Joey had more of a clicky punchy kick drum which is badass, while jay had more of a less sharp sounding kick. Same with snare. Joey has more of a ringing kind of snare with no muffling at all (which is what I would prefer) while jay’s is just flat. At least jays snare is poppy tho which I love as well!
The lyrics do fit well with overall political direction AHIG had.

One of the greatest songs ever created by Slipknot!
Love how the bass was brought back to the forefront a little on this one. And overall, it sounds like vol.3 (especially the guitars) and self titled blended with evolved .5 vocals. I like it.
Last night I was at KnotFest!! They performed it live for the first time, and it SLAPPED!
Jay put all the feelings of Joey in the drums . We can feel this!
Whenever I encounter a new Slipknot song it does take a warming up period from "It's okay...it's more Slipknot" to settling in and getting in tune to the vibes and energies of the song
The only time I didn't need it was most of the Gray Chapter album (my personal favourite to date) but the only time I didn't warm up to their songs at all was with half of the AHIG album.
If this song was going to be anything to go by, it's going to be the pre-AHIG era with post-AHIG production value which seems like a winning combination.
What love about this song and how it's mixed, is that you can really hear and feel the kick of the percussions alongside the drums. The drums only are freaking insane alone, but the percussions give it much more life.
Love the new song!! Definitely hear the echoes of the past records but still with the experimentation of the new that keeps us coming back!! Long live the Knot!!🤘🤘

Second of all: I feel like this is the Slipknot we were promised back during .5's album cycle. They returned to their old school roots and just punched us in the face with this track! It's so good! Not many bands write about serial killers and I feel like that source material has a lot of untapped potential as far as music is concerned. Just everything about this song screams classic Slipknot. Being a person who has listened to this band since 2001, I felt like I went back in time and enjoyed the intensity as well as its lyrical content.
Oh dude that new song kicks so much ass. it has some of the old school selftitled/iowa vibes and it is fuckin amazing. Everything slipknot does is amazing even if they feel it wasn't the best either way they outdo it everytime. And Jay's drumming is really shining through on this one for sure. Can't wait till the album is released.
