I have hyper mobility EDS and sometimes the pain is awful they gave me an si belt brace but difficult too but on at times such a great informative video
I am about one month out from my 42 birthday. I was born with deformed ankles. Doctors put me in casts as soon as I was born. My feet are the flatest many doctors have seen. I have weird inserts to help. When I was 32, my little car was rear-ended by a large truck damaging my L4 and L5. Swimming and my inversion table have helped me a great deal. Yesterday, I helped a friend move and hurt my back. Today, I purchased a soft back brace that I should have had on while helping my friend move. Before wearing it, I could barely walk to the toilet. With it on, I was able to take my wife out and cook dinner tonight. I will try not to use it like a crutch, but man, is it nice to be a little more mobile!
Great bit of advice I'm actively looking for some form of support after an accident at work. I drive semis and deliver to supermarkets for a living and while making a delivery one of the heavy cages tipped over and i didn't let go soon enough pulling the lower back muscles. Pain wasn't immediately obvious but knocked me for 6 a day later, couldn't drive walk bend or do anything around the house This happened last week so been pretty much off work since. My back however is giving me mixed signals Like yesterday, i thought i'd turned the corner was virtually pain free though still a little stiff around the area and thought i could get back to work. Took my dogs out for a walk and when i got up this morning Pain had reared it's ugly head again Obviously need to get back to work again but knowing the heavy loads i have to handle is this too soon or will a soft brace help in that situation ? Any insight or advice would be tremendously helpful.
A soft brace may help and will remind you of your back positioning. Check out my video on McKenzie exercises. I would start with the prone pressups. If you can’t find the video I will send you the link.

Everybody refers to back pain that is in the "lower back." But my back pain is above the waist and on both sides of the back - sort of where the kidneys are (I would think that would be considered "mid-back"). I suspect it's either the serratus posterior inferior or the latissimus dorsi. I do have a visit to the doctor coming up, but I would like to find something to use (a brace?) to help until then. Female, 5'7," large in the midriff...Any recommendations for the kind of brace that might help??
I got rear ended by a car going 80mph while I was at a stand still and only got some scratches and bruises along with a concussion but now I find my back aching more so than usual at work to the point it makes my work day twice as hard because the pain is so bad. I used to be able to stand for 6 hours straight at my old job and now I find myself punching my lower back after about 3 hours of standing. Im not sure if I should get a brace or what. This accident was about two months ago and my back wakes me up 6-8 times a night it's a living nightmare and im only 18 so it worries me if my back is just screwed and will only get worse. (To be specific it is my lower back a little bit above my belt line) if you could recommend any specific braces for lower back pain please lmk id greatly appreciate it thank you.
This with the suspenders is good so it doesn’t sag. The long term solution is Strengthening program and walking endurance program to prove your tolerance for work and also your sleep
@@apexmovebetter I think if people have any pain, they should reduce all activity down to an absolute minimum. Unfortunately, many people cannot afford to truly lay in bed and heal the proper way without any movement, so they should definitely not be adding any extra activity on top of the amount that they are forced to do by going to work/cooking/etc which prolongs recovery. The greatest luxury is recovery, recovery comes from rest if there’s pain, not from physical “therapy”
@@MobileAura most injuries do not benefit from complete rest and a little soreness during recovery is normal. This is well documented in the medical literature. I do recommend guidance from a health care practitioner for the proper timing
@@apexmovebetter The proper timing will almost never be known by a healthcare practitioner, and rarely by the patient, even. A little soreness in your lower back that never goes away/lingers during recovery is not normal at all… The only reason people have these issues is due to weakness/overload, the “obvious” solution is to fix that weakness, however in fixing that weakness is the main reason people never recover, because they needed rest. Trying to do this juggling act back-and-forth is extremely dangerous and inefficient. The only reasonable solution is full rest. For a healthcare practitioner to somehow know when to restart, they would have to recommend restart at complete recovery, only doing short/light walks to start. Little back soreness is ok if you’re a fit 15, at average 30+ body doesn’t allow this anymore.
@@apexmovebetter hello, similar question to the above. Would value your feedback. L3 fracture, 20% collapse on MRI / CT. Injury took place 3 days ago. Would value your feedback on the best brace for this
I would try and break up sitting with getting up every 30min. That may help maintain lordosis. I Often recommend doing press ups 10 times every two hours until you get past episode about paint
@@apexmovebetter thanks but I'm not sitting at all, I'm losing lordosis standing up. My physio has taped me up but this doesn't seem to last long. Thought a back support might help when the tape begins to loosen.
What if you can’t walk that long I mean showering is a process how do I get away from it I’m in dyer need of answers help so don’t sleep in it or live in it??? I’m so lost! So if the back brace makes me feel 100% better I should keep wearing it?

Can you give more info about that particular semi rigid brace you model in the video?
I am ten years post spinal fusion and I’m a nurse . My back is struggling with all of the walking in my job any suggestion ? Thanks
Hans you looked at different types of shoes? Using soft inserts?
Thanks , no I hadn’t considered that but it’s definitely worth a try.

I do like the braces that are elastic and really contour to the shape of your back and hips

Hi there, just curious what kind of brace / support I need while working out ? I have L3 compression fracture...Any suggestion?
