This song was originally performed by Paul McCartney from the Beatles. But he had a band called wings and they were the original artist. But Guns N’ Roses is awesome as well.

Axl was a big Public Enemy and NWA fan. They Hang out in barbecues at each others houses. Eazy-E even recorded a few songs with them, and they were supposed to tour together. Never happened unfortunately.
Axl admired NWA and they admired Guns N’ Roses ‘cause they were real ones. Axl was accused of being many things, racist, homophobe etc… all lies and people who actually knem him respected him. And that’s why Guns and NWA respected and admired eachother

Ice Cube said they were selling cd’s out of the back of their car when they heard about Axl wearing their merch on stage. Axl wanted to put together a tour with NWA and Guns N Roses. Calls it his biggest regret that they couldn’t make it happen. Izzy and Axl were fans early. The two bands would party together in LA often.

Pretty sure Axl is an 80's and 90's hip hop fan and both GNR and N.W.A blew up at the same time. You should check Rocket Queen the live version (tokyo 1992) Axl starts rappin' in the middle of the song 💯🔥

Guns N Roses and NWA had a good relationship, NWA showed a lot of respect to Axl as he helped push NWA when they were new and critiqued a lot

This is a Paul McCartney song. His wife Linda really liked reggae music so he fused it into the song for her. You'll notice it if you ever hear McCartney's original version of it.

'Live and let die' was a cover originally written & recorded by former Beatle Paul McCartney back in 1972/ '73 as the theme song for the James Bond movie 'Live and let die', which was actor Roger Moore's first Bond film. The Beatles had broken up in 1970, and it was a challenge for Paul McCartney to start a solo career following such an iconic band. But the producers of Bond movies contacted him about contributing the theme song... and he obliged. It became an early solo hit single.
Guns N' Roses covered it in 1991... the video was shot during the tour that summer. Photos of the band members as kids were shown... I think the boy in the last photo was Axl Rose.

This song is so great partly because it was written in the early 70’s by Paul McCartney (and I think I read his wife Linda helped write it too) for the James Bond movie “Live And Let Die”. Paul preformed it with his band Wings. Love this version!
You’d also love Adele’s “Skyfall”- also a James Bond movie! I always feel like these songs have a distinct James Bond sound to them!

Paul wrote this song for the James Bond Movie, Live And Let Die. I was 11 when the Family went to the Drive-In to see this. It was rated R so I wasn't supposed to be watching it but Dad and Mom couldn't see me watching it. The beginning scared the hell out of me when the lyrics Live And Let Die came in cause a person's head turned to a scull. Still remember to this day. 😱😁❤🤘

Axl Rose has a wide range of musical interests. He’s publicly professed being a fan of Barry Manilow, Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana (although he and Kurt Cobain hated each other personally), the Beatles, the Beastie Boys & NWA.

I was telling my 26 y.o nephew today that back in the day, rap was as hard hitting as hard rock/heavy metal. The lyrics to a lot of hard rock and groups like NWA and Public Enemy were so alike in my opinion. Rejecting the status quo, fighting for the right to be who you are, fuck the establishment…all great messages IMO.

Now that you've reacted to four or five Guns N' Roses songs, I'll tell you one thing. Whenever I see people reacting to GNR songs I tell them to react to "Locomotive". This is hands down GNR's most underrated song, probably because it was never a single, and because it's a long song. Eight and a half minutes of masterpiece. A gigantic and unstoppable train that is wonderfully composed, and has one of the best guitar riffs ever made. The rhythm gets into your head and the song seems short, because you are left wanting more.

You know that Slash is half black, right? His dad is a famous artist who did record covers and his mom was a legendary custom designer, she created everyones look from Bowie to the pointer sister. Slash's brother is a graphic artist and has always worked with many old school rap bands, still does. slash and Ash were running amuk on Hollywood strip from the 70s-90s. GnR was very supportive of all the LA bands that came up around the same time and had something to say, including nwa.
