Typically, I am not jealous of the good fortune of others, but then there is Jacob! He is a delightful man, so talented and kind and you were able to spend time with him! You obviously work well together. I admire how you are raising money for the church across the street and admire their dedication in caring for their community. Thank you, Caroline, for your hard work. You make a difference!
In my experience, stitchers are the most generous, helpful people in the world. As soon as the fundraiser was announced everyone headed out to the "shop" at the venue to snap up those charts!
I just spent three wonderful days with the amazing "Mr Palooza" but yet let out an excited gasp when I saw this Flosstube. I am stitching Biscuit Mill while I am watching this!
My quilting disaster happened when I was first quilting. I was making a Christmas wall hanging with fussy cut snowmen in the center of square in a square! I wish I had your papers 26 years ago!
Can not like this enough! Sweet summary of all the goodness. You both love what you do and that just shines. (And Jacob’s laughter … and dimples … was pretty darn joyful!) What a time!
So special Caroline! I followed so many posting pics of this event! Maybe one day I’ll get to a retreat! Jacob has so many beautiful patterns! Thanks for always sharing the joy of yours and others crafts! 🎉❤👍👍💚
Caroline!!! Greetings from Dallas! What a fun video! It was so great watching you and Jacob interact. He was so much fun and personable. I definitely will be coming to the next Jacobpalooza! Hopefully it won’t be 5 years away!! Looking forward to seeing you next April! ❤️
Lovely to watch this! I've finished "Here Be Dragons" for my son and will frame it for him for Xmas. He's a big fan of dragons -- has a Japanese one tatooed on one arm. AND I've bought the pattern and the glorious Roxy floss for the 'When this You See" Vierlande piece. A treat for myself! Thank you BOTH and Kerry and all your helpers for all you do! P.S. "Laura's Sampler" is calling to me too...such a wonderful way to raise funds for that very important ministry.of care, nourishment and comfort.
This video warms my heart in so many ways 💙💙 The smiles, the laughs, the jokes, the beautiful smalls and finishes and patterns and fabrics and threads and just alllll the stitchy goodness. I'm so glad you had 2 wonderful weekends! And thank you so very much for helping the local church helping people in need. Hugs! (And now I want coffee with speculaas...😜)
Wow. It was great to see you and Jacob together in a video. You have a good rapport. You bounce off each other so well. What a show and tell. So inspired.
What a great group of creative people. You came together and shared so much wonderfully beautiful stitchyness. Thank you for sharing the get together for those of us that couldn't be there.
How do I give this video a thousand likes?? It was so fun watching the two of you interact on screen. I am making it a goal to be there for the next event.
Watching this gave me alllll the warm fuzzies!! Such an incredible weekend & I can't wait for the next one!! Also darn you Jacob - now I am obsessed with reproduction samplers!!!!
O my if you two will know what my heart feels after watching this. Is like O my God I personally met these two wonderful people and is so so surreal, I will be the same with the thank you’s I don’t think I can’t thank you enough for this amazing weekend. I will definitely be back when ever it will be I will be there. Thanks
We had the BEST time during the first weekend. Inspiration was everywhere. It was such a pleasure to finally meet both of you. I really do hope you do it again. I would be one of the first to sign up.
Wonderful to see the two of you together on this video! Thanks for the charity project that we could participate in. I was at weekend 1 and seeing you interacting again brought back all of the great memories. I also went to get the new chart Laura's Frisian Sampler right away to add to the other patterns I acquired when there. Of course, Cherry Cobbler linen is low in stock, as seeing it in person at the retreat a lot of us had to bring a piece home! Thanks again to Jacob, Caroline, Hannah, Kerri and all the team at Evertote. Jacob Palooza was lovely, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
So much fun to watch the two of you! And I feel so great after hearing Jacob defend using one thread. I'm stitching the Anka Broekema and Here Be Dragons. 28 count because it's easy on my aging eyes and found I preferred the look of one over one.
Ty for introducing Jacob to the Evertote community ( on flosstube) Since the pandemic I have been watching Freisan horses so it was interesting to hear a bit about their stitch history. I missed seeing Kerri , hope shes well.
Fabulous that you showed the 2022 SAL. I literally just finished mine today. I’ll be lacing and framing it. Jacob’s lacing on the other sampler looked great to me. The front is what counts and it is perfect.
It is great to see you two together. I am still in retreat withdrawal. I have typed Jacobpalooza so often my iPad knows how to spell it and pops it in. What a great weekend it was. Thank you to both of you.
Thank you for sharing Jacob with those of us who didn’t meet him. It was such a joy. I really liked the idea that he stitches with one thread. I think it is much neater and easier. ❤
❤what can I say, it was a fantastic video and it made me wish that I could have been a fly on the wall watching and listening to everything that happened on your wonderful weekends. I am happy for you guys and I will be ordering my goodies next month. ❤❤
Oh my goodness this was the best video! Jacob is the best designer. I love his designs. In fact most of my completed samplers are modern folk embroidery. The retreat looked to be the best. Great job you two!
I felt exactly the same: surreal meeting virtual friends in real life but at the same time so natural and so so nice!! Now, watching this video I realise how much I miss you all :) ❤️❤️❤️
“We had the best time, and can’t wait to do it again.” Did I read that last caption correctly?! I truly hope that there will be more Jacob-Paloozas/Modern Folk Embroidery Retreats in the future. I went home from Weekend I with a very full heart - so grateful for the new friendships and joyous stitchy experience. ❤❤❤ P.S. Thank you for recording this video. It’s a keeper! The socially distant seating arrangement (maybe it was the sloping workshop floor?) and hearing about Mr Palooza cracked me up. 😂
🥰 both Jacob and I would love to do this again. In a few years, we will make it happen! And yes - when I went to edit, I laughed so hard, because we were completely clueless about the actual frame squaring 🤣
When I saw your 2 beautiful faces show up on my UA-cam I squealed with delight! That was such an incredible video. Jacob I would have to agree with your assessment of Tim’s coffee ( sorry Caroline). Everything else at Tim’s I love. Thank you for such a great video !!
I absolutely loved watching the two of you! And I must have a few skeins of the Vierlander (sp?) floss now that I've seen it stitched up on Cranky Owl. And I am almost fired up to restart the Yule Cat in January after this year's Holiday Countdown. On linen. With maybe 1 over 2. It will probably take me most of January to grid the fabric but that will be good gridding practice. (I use Sulky.)
Loved watching this video with you two together. It brought back the feeling of and memories of Jacob Palooza weekend 1. I'm so glad that was my first retreat. Jacob and the whole Evertote team were fantastic. Thank you so much. Have a great weekend! Jacob, I hope you had or will have a safe trip home.
My two favourite titchers/flosstubers in one video, this was truely worth waiting all these weeks for! Thanks to you both, I will definitely come back to it to watch it again!!!
Aaw, thanks for this video. I’m still in Jacob Palooza withdrawal and it was so fun seeing you two again. The retreat was SO good and I’m so grateful to you all! ❤❤
Oh my goodness, I couldn't even stitch while watching this video because I was absolutely glued to the screen the entire time. To see Jacob together with Caroline, in the same room, on Canadian soil - nothing could top this today. Thank you both so much for such a great visit and retreat recap and for showing an array of the amazing MFE charts.
Imagine my surprise hearing a mention of my name 😅. Got the morbs is such a cute pattern and I enjoyed stitching it so much. I love all the variations and size options of Jacob’s patterns. I should definitely come to the next year’s event.
How fabulous to get a second "dose" of Jacob - thank you Caroline for doing this. I really enjoyed the "show" and I have great memories of my time at weekend 1 of Jacob Palooza. Can't wait for the next one. I don't care how old I am, I will come to the next Jacob Palooza. Love and hugs to both of you and your team. Caroline - what thread do you use to tack your linen to the roller bars?
What a delightful video! I have a question for Jacob - toward the end, you showed a piece of linen and a matching Roxy floss, for a "white on white" effect. I've wanted to stitch one for a long time, and loved your colors as shown! Tell me please, what is the linen, and what is the floss color? Thanks so much! Marsha Dardenne
hi! not yet, but it is on my to do list to have these videos done before the end of November. The best way to go about it is to pin it in place along the rod first taking some care to have it be as straight as you can make it. Then it will be held there for you by the pins so that you can take a bit more care with some basting stitches along the rod. When pinning the second rod, note how much space is available on the webbing and aim to have the same amount of space on the second rod before pinning it and then they should be fairly even. You can use any thread to baste. I've used sewing thread, embroidery floss (one strand) or even perl cotton and they all work. Stitches don't have to be overly small either. I hope this helps!
Hello! No, sadly it will not. In order to maximize the money for the church and keep costs as low as possible, it will remain as a pdf. Thank you for asking!
Waiting for the publication of a "I'm not mad about it" chart! Jacob's reaction to the Tim Horton's was hilarious!

Thank you so much! It was incredible to be together, so inspiring!

You gave me a new word today, many thanks! I really like the blackwork designs.
Loved every minute of this video. I smiled through the whole thing as Jacob reminds me so much of my son (whom I love very much).
Say squirrel again!! ♡
What a treat! Now I know why everyone was so excited for this event.
Mr Jacon Palooza 😅 Loved seeing the interaction between you two. And all the glorious stitching and enthusiasm for our craft!
I just spent three wonderful days with the amazing "Mr Palooza" but yet let out an excited gasp when I saw this Flosstube. I am stitching Biscuit Mill while I am watching this!
THE BEST! I so enjoyed this video. You both are such good friends and work so well together. Loved seeing all the patterns. They are gorgeous.

I enjoyed watching and seeing all the goodness. I love all of Jacob charts.
Thank you again for a wonderful retreat. Looking forward to the 2024 retreats. Happy stitching!
Be still my heart - I am not alone in not enjoying backstitching! This video brought joy to my day on so many levels. Merci !
Wonderful video with you both! Now I need to get some MFE patterns!
I’m watching your video and looking at my Cranky Owl hanging in my wall!
Thank you so much! What a wonderful video and I love Jacob!!!

Oh you bad, bad people. Could not resist the chance to give back a little, so I placed a few orders, including my holiday box. Thank you for sharing.

The Friesian sampler is quirky and gorgeous!
Fabulous floss tube, looks like an amazing time was had by all
Bring on the big stitch 😊
My 3x great grandparents were from Glasgow. She was also Katrin but he was Thomas. Still, I will just have to stitch it in their honour
Could have been Katherine and William 😅 . I know the King of the Netherlands is Willem too!
I totally agree with Jacob about Tim Hortons
He needs to try Second Cup. Not sure if it's in London but just pop down the 401 to Toronto 😉
❤️❤️❤️Jacob
So fun to see you both. Thank you

Another great flosstube. And I appreciate you bringing Jacob onto the channel. His wonderful personality really shined through.

Wonderful!! ❤
What awesome talent! I may have to stitch one of Jacob’s designs but which one?
See I feel the same. My husband and I tried Tim Hortons and we didn’t see like it either. It’s all on taste. I felt it wasn’t strong enough.
What a delightful video! I have a question for Jacob - toward the end, you showed a piece of linen and a matching Roxy floss, for a "white on white" effect. Thank you for emailing me - as you can see it was a lot faster than me answering you here! 😃

Hello! No, sadly it will not. In order to maximize the money for the church and keep costs as low as possible, it will remain as a pdf. Thank you for asking!
P.S. Jakob, I share your opinion of Tim Horton's coffee. Sorry, eh, Caroline? I love Tim's soups and buns, but can "I'm not mad about" Tim's coffee.
😂😂😂
