Thanks for sharing your WIPs. If stitching the Tiny Town on that fabric with 2 strands is still bothering you, stitch a little farther with 2 strands to finish enough to make a cute pillow, then use the rest of the project with one strand. Enjoy your stitching! For your silk, if you are new to silk, I would try to cut a length from the end to and stitch with it to see how long you prefer your strands to be...I have some silk I bought that had been pre-cut and it is much shorter than I'd like. Once you figure out what you like and make sure the silk isn't fraying too much, you can cut your hank. If you are a bobbin person, you can wind a few bobbins and cut your fibers as you use them. I enjoyed seeing the variety of your WIPs. Happy stitching and safe travels!
Hi Jennifer, nice to "meet" you. For your Blue Flower piece, Lala Dee Stitches did a really fun SAL. You could stitch along to that if you are looking for fun. 🎉
Thanks for sharing! Totally resonate when I was at home with 2 young kids stitching kept me sane! I only started with linen last year and I this it is just practice. One tip you may already know is to start on a vertical thread? Hard to explain but there are good photos online. Then you keep using that as a reference and notice when accidentally go over 1 or 3 … as I’ve done many times! Enjoy your stitching!
Hi Jennifer. Love your projects!! I just started stitching in 2021 and I’m still on Aida!! 😂😂 I can’t grasp the over two. I do love 20 count Aida and I do 1 thread over one which I love. Pin stitch to start. It’s FANTASTIC. I too have many other hobbies but stitching is where I am right now. I subscribed to your channel. I look forward to more videos. ❤
Hi Jennifer enjoyed your floss tube. I keep thinking about starting one. Silk is just like any floss just make sure you have a good needle with smooth eyes. I like to keep my silks in floss bags not on floss drops.
Welcome! Wow, a big move with a new baby, that's intense! Good job! I thought moving across the country with a 4 and 1 year old was hard .....cant imagine with a new baby and your husband gone already! I love that first year in stitches project. So cute!! Ok, back to watching the rest!
@@littlepaperbearcoAlso, after watching your video I watched @mamabearstitchery and she does animals too because she used to work at a zoo!! I think you two need to connect if you haven't already. :)
Congratulations on stepping out with your first FlossTube! I enjoyed your video. I’m hoping to finish the Pollinators soon. I’m at the point of stitching the bat! Steph’s video has me considering a Long Dog sampler too.
Welcome to flosstube! Loved your first video and your projects. I am also papercrafter and Nichol got me back into this hobby and continues to inspire me to deplete my bank account 😂. Can't wait for your future videos. PRC is one of my top designers as well and I own MANY of their patterns!
Great first video and welcome to Texas! I’m in East Texas - moved here 50 (gulp) ago. I’m an empty nester but have a 14 mo old granddaughter that is two hours away so we spend a lot of weekends on the road which cuts into my stitching time but that’s okay - I waited a long time for her. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you! We are in East Texas as well! I wish I would have learned to stitch when younger but I figure I'll carry it forever and hopefully teach my kids.
@ I have boys - one of them did a few pieces when he was about 10. He is one of those people that will do something just to prove he can. I hope I’m around long enough to teach his daughter! Not sure where in East Texas you are but I stitch with a group of ladies once a month in the Tyler area if you are close enough and want to join us let me know.
It was so fun watching you for the first time. I don't know where you live in TX, but there is another fabulous store near Wayne, OK. The store is more than a cross stitch store. It does retreats. It has wool, applique, needle punch, rug hooking, quilting fabric and much much more. Have fun with your son at Disney. That sounds like a great memory for your child.
Thank you! That's good to know about the store in Wayne. Maybe I can make a special trip. I skirt Tulsa when I travel to visit our families in southeast Kansas but it never hurts to know where another store is :)
Hello! Great first video.♥️ I am a new transplant to Indiana! We retired here from crazy expensive Washington. I am 63 years old and starting stitching when I was 21 years old a new mom. Stitching was my sanity while raising my 4 kids. I learned to knit in my 50’s and took a break from stitching but my stitching bug returned in 2018 … and it was for sure my sanity during 2020!
Hello! Thaks for watching, stitching definitely is my therapy as well! I lived in Lafayette Indiana for about a years before our recent move. I hope you are enjoying living there.
Welcome to Flosstube and to Texas- Glad you are here! I live northeast of Dallas. It does sound like it was a big, big year, last year. I hope things start to settle. Great first video! Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your progress in future videos : ) I started flosstube with a few WIPs and ended the year with over 30! So much enabling and so many ideas! Have fun! For the hoop for large projects: I use a hoop and have for many years. I haven't really had any issues. Just try to take the hoop off when you are done stitching for the day. Hoop rings come out with an iron. Though I'm not sure about silks... I'm a DMC gal. Let us know what you find out!
Hi Jennifer! Nice to find your flosstube channel. I’m also here in Texas and hope you enjoy living here. I also started out in paper crafts a few years ago and started cross stitching in 2024. I look forward to your future videos and seeing what you create! Blessings to you! ❤
You did a WONDERFUL job on your first Flosstube 😊 welcome to Texas and don’t worry you’ll have TONS of friends in no time. I live in Fort Worth and am also a card maker but my cross stitch is where my heart is …. Have fun in Disney!!! Make lots of memories … take lots of pictures and then we will have to get some paper crafting done with alllllll the pictures.
Hello from another flosstuber who stitches animals a lot. I went to the dollar store and got artist canvas or other craft board at a reasonable price to have behind my stitches. You have a delightful personality and super clear speaking. Well done. 🦉🪡🧵
Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the CS community1 I enjoyed your video and it looks like you have a pretty good idea of what you are doing, lol! You have some lovely pieces. Looking forward to your next flosstube!
Thanks for sharing! I’m also a newish stitcher that’s also a paper crafter. Cross stitch is filling a crafty space that’s easier to put down and pick up, like you said, in this particular season of life. Look forward to seeing more!
Great first video. Happy stitching!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing, looking forward to the next one
Thanks so much for giving me a watch:)
