A lot of people emphasize strength without emphasizing the importance of mobility. Elongating the muscle adds flexibility and reduces chances for injury. Finally, adding the proper nutrition to capitalize on the strength and mobility gains is also key. Thanks Thomas for having Ben on and doing a live training session.
For real, as a former collegiate athlete I was strong as a truck, and my mobility was lacking. Reflecting, if I had a mobility routine, I would have been even stronger and faster, and my body would have lasted. At the end, I could barely walk up the stairs to my dorm. I was a high performance athlete walking like a 90 year old man

I’m a physical therapist and I can say this is by far the best lower extremity mobility video I’ve seen on UA-cam. Great explanations and couldn’t agree more with his way of developing range of motion with equal emphasis on muscular control. 👏
Absolutely! Great stuff! I work as a personal coach / pain treatment guy and was a former PRO triathlete. The fascia actually gets a new "base length". By puting load on muscles and then release the load, the fascia can be set to a "new base" . With this "new base" release of the tension we felt before is happening. Working right now at the Snow Polo event in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Polo Players have one of the most complex movement patterns. Having a horse form 0 to 50-60km/h under you, performing turns on a dime while trying to hit a moving ball that goes everywhere.... you need to be savy, flexible and strong!

In regards to neuro re-patterning mentioned at the end, you are right on the money Thomas. I am a neuro programming specialist and I address and reprogram specific patterns for clients everyday. Just small changes to the core/obliques/abdominals in regards to neuro muscular activation can often completely solve some ones back pain. It is all about the brain. Repeatedly programming that muscular area, as the area becomes stronger/more blood flow- and more on the neural "map" can create completely pain free movement AND load as well. In regards to ATG, I have found that reprogramming quadricep muscles in the same manner has completely eliminated knee pain is 100% of my clients who had ANY prior knee issues- even with load. Example, having pain in a wall sit, and then 5-10 mins later with specific activation/sequencing work- having zero pain in the same wall sit. As someone who was diagnosed with severe degen disc disease and told I would be in a wheelchair in my mid 20s after the car accident, this sequencing work was able to address all of my pain and dysfunction. I created all of the sequencing work I do today as a result, much like Ben created his system to address his own issues. I enjoy Ben's content, and I think he is a great mind. Enjoyed the video!

Guys mb u have an answer for me. I am 33 now, i lost my ACL like when i was 17, sometimes i feel lack of stability (sometimes, after i get some specific leg submission in BJJ) or during long running. The question is- can i protect my ACLless knee without surgery? Anyway thank you a lot!
