This version is just as hard as the first Castlevania game. I can't tell you how many times I played this game, both on the NES, and Origins, before I was able to put down Dracula. Even with his maxed out Simon Belmont, it's still fairly easy to die.

@Starscream91 Yes. I am aware of the Sharp X16800 version, but that game is just called Castlevania. For clarities sake, I choose to call the game by it's PS1 title not only because it differentiates it from the original Castlevania, but because that's the version most people have actually played.
I have maxed out Knife,axe,holy water,and cross all in the new version(not the retro ones) but still my vampire killer is shorter than the maxed out simon in the video,What I am missing? PLEASE REPLY :(
Castlevania 1 isn't really that hard. One can run through the 4-5 first stages in like 30 mins or so, but I'll admit that Death, Stage 6 and Dracula are hard.

would've been cool but by doing that, people would expect it to have a fire status and you don't want that when fighting certain creatures

Chronicles Simon should have been used in this game to fit with artstyle of the other characters.
