  • This entire channel is built on the concept of making mistakes, learning from them, and sharing them so that you don't make them as well, I wanted to talk about why I think I managed to "succeed" at my dream job and why so many streamers just never grow.

    How To Grow On Twitch?
If you want to grow your Twitch stream, it is important to be critical. Being critical isn’t a bad thing, people say, “Oh don’t be so critical of yourself!”.
But there are a lot of things you can control and improve, such as your visuals, audio, and most importantly your content that you’re creating. Watch back your VoD and be honest with yourself, is it up to scratch. Does your mic sound good? Are you engaging? Is it easy to watch and enjoy or is there something that is off-putting? Be honest, push yourself to grow, and become a better entertainer!
Because at the end of the day, the only way you are going to grow your stream is by growing yourself and being critical in a positive way.

What Bitrate And Settings Should I Use For Streaming?
The easiest way to understand bitrate is by calling what it actually is, your upload speed to the Twitch servers.
Now you’ll need a higher bitrate depending on how high quality you want your stream to be, this means 1080p 60 frames per second will need a bitrate of 6000, which roughly equals 6megabits upload speed on your end being taken up
By lowering your resolution and framerate, you can make it a lot easier to stream, for example, if you set your base canvas size to 1920x1080, but change your output to 1280x720 otherwise known as 720p you drop down to only needing a bitrate of 4500 or 4.5megabits.
If you still want 1080, you can even just lower your framerate from 60fps to 30fps and then adjust to 4500bitrate.
For more information visit this Bitrate graph: stream.twitch.tv/

Just a little video I've made for myself this week to look back at to push me to work harder, and get over my fears! I hope it helps others as well. Oh, and I am going to take a second to say, if you haven't checked out VidIQ and their amazing Idea generators, then use this to try VidIQ for just $1: - vidiq.com/streamscheme/

I am a small streamer right now, but I am also therapist, and I have to have these discussions a lot with other small streamers and followers who discuss their fears of doing hard things. Exposure therapy and positive self talk!! You can’t be perfect right off the bat. Messing up and making mistakes is how we GROW 🌼

Always love your helpful tips and wisdom. I’ve been streaming for almost a year now and have made plenty of embarrassing mistakes (some very painful) but have learned so much from all of them. Thankfully it gets easier with time to accept as long as you keep on “failing upwards.”

Thank you for making this. I know there's a lot that I need to do to improve, but I see the list and feel overloaded, and so never get anything done... it's one of my (many) bad traits. I need to remember that, even if I only do one thing, it's still an improvement, and I can build off of it going forward.

The last video you made on shorts actually made me realize this. I looked more detailed into my analytics and realized I wasn't making good shorts but I didn't beat myself I used it as a moment to step back look at what the problem is now im experimenting with different short ideas. Thanks a bunch for this video as well confirming I'm at least on the right path now. Keep up the good work and thank you for your hard work.

This video is honestly everything I have needed at exactly the right time. I got Twitch affiliate a couple of years back and stopped and recently have put a lot effort into getting started again, equipment, alerts etc. everything but actually hitting the live button! I am so excited about the idea of streaming but when it gets to hitting the live button, I get a feeling I haven't been able to put my finger on until I saw this. It isn't nerves, its the crippling fear of failing or appearing 'cringe' or judged by people whose opinion I care about if it isn't great. If I don't stream then I can live in the imaginary fantasy bubble I have built up in my head. But as you say, this is a bigger failure because I will never learn and will never know what could have been. Thank you!

I am getting ready to start my first stream, I'm 32 and was doing software engineering last 5 years until I burned out. I saved a bunch of money and decided I will dedicate a year to content creation after a lot of people suggested I do it. I think I actually have a leg up on getting over the fear of failure. I've had the compilers for my programs make me feel dumb for years. Used to be crushing and it would make me feel like a moron, but now I am just so used to trying and failing until I get stuff right. I'll be streaming under a different name and stuff, but I appreciate the content you provide here, I have been referring to it a lot.

comes down to planning probably. Not to mention actually trying to be entertaining. Streamers have a mentality of "no one is here so why should I entertain no one." vs "I need my stream to always be engaging and entertaining regardless on the amount of viewers."

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  10 місяців тому +1

@@StreamScheme or they don’t wanna be “fake.” But sadly, what most streamers see is a person playing a video game or reacting to clips. They don’t see the back end of the real stream. The amount of planning is tough. But you are trying to push the message. It comes down to, how hard do you wanna work?

Nothing to do with streaming, but I spent 6 months on a website and have less than 2 dozen users. Only 8 of them return every day. What a massive failure. What's stupid is that I know it's better than the much more popular, slower, greedier alternative which has way less features, but barely anyone even knows that it exists.
