    One of the better videos you've done. I love the final look. You nailed the film look. I think I might actually start color grading a bit ;)
    btw, hilarious that all the comments complain about the speed of talking.

      If you're a student (or know any students, or can kidnap a student) you can get a pretty hefty discount! Totally worth the money either way, but the discount does make it a lot more manageable!

    Hi Ryan... great Vid as always... but you are talking faster and faster every Week - for Years now, I (as German) understood you very well... but it's getting harder the last Weeks. It gives the Impression, you dont like, what you are doing at the Moment, what I dont believe.
    Greetings,
    Chris :-)

      Survival Dummy funny, I watch most of these at 2x speed because I don't need to spend as much time on most details that I'm not using...

    • @filmriot
      @filmriot  9 років тому +19

      Survival Dummy I would hope that we clearly do love all the things we are doing. That's of course not at all a factor. The fast speaking is just how I talk, slowing down is extremely difficult. I also like to keep these fast so that those that are more familiar aren't bored and those who need more time can just rewind. I find it to be a nice middle ground.

    • @SurvivalDummy
      @SurvivalDummy 9 років тому +2

      I understand that - and believe me, I love your Channel since YEARS (my oldest Channel is called "Grisby Media"). I learned so much from you.
      But why did you then talk more slowly the last Years? o.O
      I am a Dubber in Germany since Mid 70ies (!) and I know Differences in Speak very well (also in other Languages) - thats why I heard it. You speak faster since you did the big 3-Day-Workshop a few Months ago (which was awesome).
      If you feel better speaking fast, it's OK for ME... but for most of foreign People it will be too fast sometimes, I think.
      Thanks for the fast (haha) Answer. ;-)
      Greetings,
      Chris

      Come to think of it, you could do the same thing as I do, in reverse: if you're using the html5 player, the settings button at the bottom will let you play videos at slower speeds (i think .5 and .75x).

    I went from da vinci to bullet looks and i have no regrets, the workflow is so much faster if you are grading alot of clips, just grade one copy that onto the other clips and just tweak every clip a bit.

(No problem understanding you btw i'm from Holland and we DO speak excellent english). Now I understand your getting into bigger projects and having less time and all, buttt... I do miss Josh ranting and raving from behind the camera and you beeing all Ryan Connolish and the overall Bammiewhamness of the show. The overall change of tone is more proffesional but is it still Film Riot

    Why do you grade in Premiere when it doesn't have color management (color space)? Grading in After Effects with "Display Color Management" on will be 100% accurate to what you want it to look like when you render your final product.
