Hey man, really appreciate the videos and how clear you are on them, I've been a landscape photographer for some years now but making the move to video and it's videos like this that just make it so much easier learning the ropes of a new eco system to edit within :)
@@LeXro6 well i stopped doing what others want and create what i really like so yeah, before judging do a little research and watch most viewed videos.
The SRT file with colour mode info - thanks for that! . I was searching all over web and this is first time I got an answer about this meta data location.
Excellent tutorial. Thx!! couple of questions: - Dlog M on the Air 3s is 10 bit. Do you set the Luma wave form to 10 bit then? -Why do you set the Rec 709 conversion under creative panel en not in the input lut in the Basic Correction? Thx :)
I appreciate it! - Yes, I do, but you won't see a noticable difference - Because then you can adjust the "Basics" about the "Creative" tab. So the conversion lut will be applied after your basic adjustments, which allows for better quality.
Thank for the amazing content! I really appreciate it! Could you do other tutorials like: only editing the person to have a more natural skin, or exclude specific element from color grading? Thanksss 😃
It would be more helpful if the export settings were also shown in this video. That's where I'm finding it difficult-I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but my exported footage has blown-out highlights and is oversaturated.
I'm not using conversion log because I'm using d-cinelike, Question is. What is the difference of having 2 adjustment layer where you can put the luts and color correction in one adjustment layer?
The DJI Neo doesn't support color profiles like DLOG-M or D-Cinelike. So you have to skip color correction and go straight to color grading. But the Neo doesn't have the best bitrate for color grading, so you can't edit the colors too much.
Please get the gopro 12 (or new flywoo naked even better) and show us some color graded G-log footage! Would love to see how it compares to my naked gopro 10
Just got it 2 weeks ago! Good idea. But I can say right away: The GoPro 11 and 12 feature 10-bit colors, so you will see a huge difference when color grading a GoPro 10 compared to 11/12
Naaaaa, you MISSED a BIG POINT in General: You've got more than 150 different color effects and more then 1000 Sliders JUST to CONTROL the COLOR of a fuckin 8-Bit Image. THINK before you WRITE!
I there any difference to applying the different stages to seperate layers, does it matter the order of the layers and will you achieve the same result by just applying all these steps to the original clip? Also, shouldn't the correction lut be applied under basic correction input LUT not creative?
Using 2 different adjustment layers just allows for a cleaner workflow. And no, it should be under Creative, so you can adjust the Basic Exposure before applying the conversion LUT.
So its almost the same as davincy.. but I will try with these steps and see if I can find out masking in davincy. I like this collor correction easier to follow. Then in davincy.
Very nice Video :) is it a must to put a rec 709 Lut on the d log footage? Or is it possible without? and what if when i film with the go pro hero 11 and a flat color profile, I have to put the lut also on?
You dont have to convert rec709 by using a lut. In some difficult scenes, it can be helpful to do the color conversion manually. But the conversion lut usually is the go-to. For the gopro flat you shouldnt use a conversion lut. But for gopro 12‘s „G-LOG“, you should
This is unclear and confusing. I've watched a ton of UA-cam Tutorials. When do I add the Lumetri Color Effect? To the Adjustment layer or the layer of footage? I don't see you explaining when.
Hi, Im sorry to hear that you’re struggling, it actually has no different effects, using an adjustment layer or directly putting the Lumetri Color onto the clip. I just like an adjustment layer more to keep it clean and increase the adjustment layer’s length to use it above multiple clips. If there are still any questions, I’d recommend a default Premiere Pro beginner tutorial to get used to adjustment layers and some basic effects. Hope you’ll figure it out and enjoy the process :)
Up till now i understood that if first use the conversion log the rest of the corretions are done in 8bit. Because dlog-m is 10 bit en rec709 is 8bit
Awesome, user-friendly, no unnecessary fluff, just the stuff we opened the video for, shows the logic behind every move!
This is the most helpful video I've found on this topic. Thanks so much!
Great workflow, finally found a good guide on how to make Dlog look as real as if looking through the camera
