I attended this concert. I had just hitch hiked back from Istanbul, and got into Frankfurt that afternoon. I ran into an American kid that I knew from Berlin. He had a ticket, but his parents wouldn’t let him go, so he generously donated the ticket to yours truly. Inside the Stadhalle, that evening, I ran into my brother. We hunkered down on the floor, in front of the stage. Opening the show were Canned Heat, riding high with “ On the Road Again”. They smoked. The Doors were fantastic. What a great memory! Thanks for the posting.
I was there too. Three soldiers take the train to Frankfort. 6 or 7 bucks a ticket. Lotsa hash smoked. Morrison had a gallon jug of something behind an amp he’d chug on between songs. To be honest we thought Canned Heat put on better set as Morrison was staggering around right in front of us pretty wasted. But we were there to see the Doors. Unforgettable evening. Jim had a few bottles of "Goldener Oktober" (sweet german white wine) before, during and after the concert...I don't wanna know about his hangover the next day. He liked it so much that he ordered 200 bottles to the US
Have you seen the "Hello I love You " clip they did in Frankfurt at the Römer(city center) in the afternoon? It's full playback, but who cares? I like it, wish I had been there, was just eight at the time.
Why not show the great fantastic John Densmore? Doesn't anyone else get sick and tired of seeing a super close-up of Jim's face? How stupid can you get? huh????????!!!!!!! How SQUARE can you GET, HUH??????????!!!!!!!!!!!
