- So I installed the Honda ambient light kit. I really like it. It’s not too hard of an install. Just take your time. The hardest part was fishing the wire from one side to the other. Honda Jon Nah I let the dealer do it. I don’t have expertise or patience to do that big job. Door sill, footwell & puddle.

Honda Jon The only bummer is the rear door sills are NOT lit but still nice.
That’s ok. They aren’t noticed as much anyway since they are significantly smaller.

I just installed this about a week ago in my '19 Sport. A few tips:
1) Complete OEM installation instructions available at estore.honda.com. It's not as "straightforward" as Jon eludes to.
2) The harness routing doesn't have to be 100% perfect to the instructions, just make sure wiring is clear of anything sharp, anything that vibrates (especially near sharp edges) or anything that moves (steering column!). Don't zip tie anything tight until you verify harness ends reach the light housings and everything is routed how you want. Tighten and clip off excess last before putting dash back together.
3) The clear hose near the driver's side easily pulls out from its hookup deeper inside/below the dash when removing the climate controls. Recommend to install hose on climate controls first (to get enough slack) then install other end of hose underneath dash once climate controls are back in.
4) You will need a sharp razor knife or razor blade and a drill with several bit sizes to install the light housings on the L & R lower dash panels. If you don't have these, don't start the install.

I love the concept of these OEM ambient lights, they look much cleaner than strips. That said though, i'd love to have the variety strips offer though (such as multiple colors), but in conjunction with how the OEM ones work (such as dimmer, lights, and doors). Do you think it'd be possible to modify these OEM ones or to somehow combined something like OPT7's light strips to this harness? I'm very low profile ocpd, but always looking for challenges.

Also, is it a white LED or soft white yellow looking bulb? I changed all my interior to white LED and I would want it to match.
It’s all white. There’s no yellow tint to it. It matches any pure white led bulb perfectly

Yeah should all be the same. The procedures might be a tad different but it will all hook up the same.
Where did you get ur door still plates
You should try to install the puddle light, i wna do it, but it seems soo complicated-.- lol

Hi bro just wanted too say what's up man! Remember I told u I was in a car accident in my 16 accord sport then got the 19 civic SPORT in a 6 speed manual transmission. Well im not enjoying the new 19 civic sport so i will hopefully be trading the civic sport and go back too the 19 accord sport TURBO 1.5 i had or get the 2.0 sport
Nice man. The civic is a sweet ride too. I almost bought one. You can’t go wrong with either choice. The good thing is that they hold their value. 👊🏼

I feel ya. I needed the additional space with kids or I would have got the civic. I am happy with my purchase.
1.5 are prone to fuel dilution even more than 2.0 engines. Keep that in mind.

That’s a good idea. I was thinking of that. You’d have to tap the dome light under the dash. Shouldn’t be bad. So when you unlock the car or open the door

Where did u buy ur door still plates
I made those ones. Got carbon fiber vinyl and had decals made and stuck on top. Them applied clear vinyl over it. I have a video on it as well
I hate that Honda couldn't add this feature on these new cars. They should its 2020. I hate the sound stereo speakers too,cheap but I still love my 2020 accord sport 2.0 with my new sub installed.
I agree with that. But then it gets better when I take a drive. I love the 2.0
So does it stay on when you close the doors and start driving? Or is it just on when the doors are open and you are parked?
Yeah. It dims and stays on the whole time your lights are on.

No worries. Check out college hills honda website. Look under accessories and when you find the ambient light kit at the very bottom of the page it will have pdf installation instructions you can download.
I got mine installed today on my Sport 1.5 CVT , but they only come on when the doors are open. When the doors are closed with the ignition on, they fade out and turn off (I checked the brightness settings of the cabin & still nothing). Did the installation go wrong?
Did you look up under there and see them completely off? Because I know I thought the same thing since they dimmed then realized they were on. They are really faint.
Nah, I think they're completely off. I checked and the lights fade out and turn off after the door closes (along with the puddle lights) . Maybe the lights were plugged into the wrong harness?
Yeah. There’s only two plugs. One under the dash and one up near the flasher button. I would double check but I’m almost positive they will only fit into one plug
Also how did you check the brightness?
I checked the brightness with the slider near the steering wheel! I turned it up to max brightness but nothing changed. I appreciate your help with diagnosing this

They are the oem

Lol. Yeah I’ve realized it’s not as difficult as the instructions say. It really is a couple plugs and the rest is hiding wires. Why do they put all these extra steps ?
@@HondaJon by the way, i have a question. i need to add other 6 pin harness (for door light) but how i can do it. there is one plug and i used already. can i add other one on the tap ?
The directions do have a section if you are using those lights too. Should show you exactly what needs to be done. It’s all plug and play.

Where did you get the drill bits?
I had them. You don’t need different sizes really. You can easily enlarge the hole. It’s plastic so it’s easy. Your only drilling it to allow the light to shine through. 👍🏻

No problem. Yeah you screw the socket onto the panel. The hole just allows the light to come through. I drilled a hole a test fitted the light and just kept enlarging it a little bit at a time.
I have the 2018 accord touring 1.5 and have been searching for the stainless steel pedal pads and foot rest pad with no luck. Does anybody know where I can find it?
You can buy the ones for the sport. I believe the accelerator pedal is the whole unit thought.

Honda Jon all the interior ones I've found a few deals where you can get all the interior LEDs for about 10 to 12 bucks but I don't know how good the quality is. Im a big believer of "you get what you pay for"
I agree with you. I use all philips led bulbs. They are the best and last forever. Check my videos out. I have a few videos on the different ones. All you need is 194 for all interior lights and trunk light. The map lights take 30mm festoon. The reverse lights are philips 921. All are 6000k 👍🏻

Yeah basically you just have to plug them in behind the climate control panel. So you just have to feed the wires up there. The directions have you doing it one particular way but any way is fine as long as you can get the wires there.
@@HondaJon so there's only 2 plugs? One below the steering wheel and one behind the dash? Also we have to drill out thr plastic for the light. Is that pretty much it?
Yeah it’s really basic. The hardest part is fishing the wire through the center console. You plug the two sides together and then a wire goes from the union behind the dash where the climate control is. It’s really not hard because it all plugs in. And then yes there’s little marks where you drill out under the dash. That’s really easy too

Man LED stripes would lite up WAY more and cheaper and easier to install. LEDs in red or any color would show big time FYI. I have 4 white led stripes in mine 2 under ea seat and 2 under the dash ea side hooked up so when you open the doors they go on. And then I have 4 red with a switch and red lites up the whole floor
