In this episode I share what I carry everyday in my bag, including gentlemanly essentials beyond the everyday carry on my person, and why my Palissy leather luxury briefcase from Carl Friedrik of London has become my favourite.

What an interesting collection. And it is refreshing to see someone speak about quality items without being snobby. We are not all in the position to spoil ourselves with such quality. But it doesn't mean we are inferior in our thinking about honour and respect. Qualities which seem to be vanishing.

My first EDC bag when I was an apprentice in a British West Midlands Car parts factory was an Army surplus gas mask bag with a pack of Sandwiches in. I'm glad to say times have changed.

TGV - As expected, a very well curated kit. There’s no substitute for quality leather. I use field pouches for organizing mini kits to keep the packing modular, but I rock the legendary GoRuck GR1 backpack as my commuter bag. The multi-tools are essential!

Hello TGV, I would love to have the Palissy weekend bag but being 18 I don't go to any fancy places or go anywhere enough to use one. Do you have any suggestions to other bags of similar style as a more appropriate alternative?

I always carry a little sewing kit, the ones they leave you in hotels. Needle, thread, white button and pins. Knife wise being UK it’s a Victorinox Cybertool (non locking sub 3inch) the screwdrivers are superb.

Thanks for sharing your EDC - Sachel Edition, Tristano. Good taste on Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. His wisdom and Stoic principles are timeless. You said not to laugh, but I couldn't help but chuckle when you went from a "prissy" felt bag, and brought out the Super Mario bags. Love the duality here with the $500 designer leather case and Rolex on one side, while rocking the G-Shock and Nintendo/Super Mario gear on the other. A gentleman without presumption, through and through.

My EDC consists of G26, or S&W Sheild 9mm in Concealment Express kydex holsters. Kershaw Scallion knife, Streamlite 1le flashlight, Seiko PADI Turtle, Maxpidition Micro wallet. I keep it simple.

I'd recommend that you need a RAID NAS as a more secure reliable network storage solution to replace all the LaCie drives.
A Synology RAID could be connected to anywhere in the world.

Wow, that is an epic loadout! I ordered some of the recommended tea and Meditations. But one epic thing he is missing is a fine handgun! I get it that it's NY, but still I can't imagine a true gentleman going about his daily business without being able to protect what's most important to him. I personally carry a Walther P99C, in the appendix position.
@@m.o.5291 gentlemen literally means a person who can bear arms but isn't from a noble family. Not sure why being able to defend yourself is offensive...? A man should have the ability to defend his lived ones. This is chivalry.

Highly recommended is the Leatherman Tread - a multi tool that's worn as a bracelet so its always with you & doesn't take up pocket or bag space. I've worn mine for over a year & its helped me out of many situations. Cheers 👍👍
If you're looking for less sugar I would check out Quest Protein Bars. They do have quite a bit of carbs in them but it comes from fiber so it's not from sugar. I'm assuming they use artificial sugar though so I would keep that in mind.
Satchel and Page is also really good. They put a padded, suede laptop sleeve in the middle of the brief so that the zippers never touch your device. Leather is really high quality. Tempted by a CF though now too.
Cravar is another fantastic choice. Made in indonesia so you can way more bang for your buck.
Nice leatherman. I haven't used a penknife since I was a teenager, around that time knives started to become demonized so I just didn't own a pocket knife for many years... until! - I bought a small Victorinox on holiday as a souvenir - the same as the one you have on your key ring. I'd forgotten just how useful they are, including the scissors, tweezers and screwdriver. So, I bought the Victorrinox 'Hunstman' - a real classic, in the original red and it stays in my pocket. (What a rebel!). It's legal in the uk, being less than the prescribed legal length and non-lockable. Red's a good colour choice to because it's hopfully immediately recognisable for what it is. Obviously I don't have it with me when I go out disco dancing or start playing with it on a bus!

I only carry a holdall for weekenders. Beyond the obvious i only carry a phone charger & sunglasses. I have on occasion carried a second watch but i'd rather not tempt fate.

If you're into retro gaming, look into the GPD XD Plus. It's an android-based handheld with almost the exact same dimensions of the Nintendo 3DS XL but runs various emulators - it will even play Nintendo DS ROMs perfectly (but not 3DS ROMs).
I prefer the M-51 engineers field bag. $38.

My EDC consists of a FMF wallet, Casio G-Shock Rangeman, CRKT M21-14G, Maglite XL50 LED light, a can of Grizzly chewing tabacco, a pair of nitrile gloves and work gloves, and a bandana. I work as a school custodian, so i dont need a bag for everyday, i do have B.O.Bes in my trucks tho.
I agree tgv....certain things are worth paying for. Shoes and suit for sure. Watch...of course. Better to buy less but buy quality.
