Tip: place an observer behind the button with the face facing AWAY from the dispenser, place your button back and now the observer will fire twice! One when you press the button and the second when it un-clicks. It's also way faster and allows for other ways of activation, such as fence gates, etc.

I have no idea why, but for me it works best with wooden buttons. Should make no difference since the observer detects the button movement, not the tick. Go figure...
Perfect timing. I just started playing recently, and the last cow breeder/farm wasn’t working for me. I came on YT to troubleshoot it and your video popped up. Looks like a great design!

I just found this out yesterday, but you can add another dispenser on the opposite side and put powdered snow in it, when you press the button the animals will freeze to death and you get uncooked food so you can have a 2 in 1 farm!

Small tweak, put a slab under the dispenser if you want to have access to the baby cows to turbo feed them for getting the inital growth going. It racked up quick. Thank you OP!
Spent last few hours with two different cow farms, one like this with lava n water dispensers which wouldn't yield anything... Then tried a very simple method with just water, had so many in there even when one side block was removed they couldnt escape it was essentially one almost solid herd of cows lol. Started getting glitchy so I killed many of them with the sword not wanting to risk losing the leather. Turns out my world has anti farming or something as those in the farm aren't dropping leather😭

For the ones having the issue of the baby cows not flowing over. Place the source water block a block or two over from the cows so that the stream still flows into the kill chamber but the source isnt under the cows. This at least works for me, hope it helps!

Only if fire spread is on is that an issue
Something you can do instead of keeping a block by the floating cows while building their population and then destroying it when you want the babies to float down is use a piston and a lever instead. That way you can easily switch back and forth between the new babies staying in the pool and the new babies floating down
for anyone struggling to push the button fast enough, use a stone button, not a wooden one. Stone buttons reset faster.
I tried this and the lava just stop there, don't even kill the cows... then I have to break the glass to scoop the lava with a bucket... What I'm doing wrong? :(

@@AMaidenlessRunti hope in the 4 months since you posted this you educated yourself to know that this farm DOES work and he did it on bedrock. entity cramming has nothing to do with the farm.

This worked great. I added another dispensor at the bottom of the cow pen, added a button to it and put in a bucket of water that way when I breed I can add the water so they jump and I breed them. I hit the button to suck the water back so they are not jumping all the time. It was annoying me LOL.
After further testing it seems that the lava is burning up most of the drops. I have a observer set to toggle it as quick as possible but its still too slow. I may switch to a comparitor which is super fast. I have one in my chicken farm or I will switch just killing them manually
Replace bottom glass with any slab and use looting 3 with or without fire aspect and get rid of lava

Normally baby cows need 20 mins to grow but in this farm they literally need 30 min or more😳

anyone having issues with the sign blocking the babies from falling down? Most of them are getting stuck is there any other block that would prevent this?

If you go to the front of the farm with the wheat in your hand. The babies should come forward to get the wheat and fall in. I hope this helps

Because the adult cows are in the way. Move the water steam a block over from the adult cows and the babies will go into the water no problem

I built this and everything looks exactly the same. For some reason though, pressing the button once to open the dispenser, and again, after the button pops back up to close the dispenser, results in the cows just burning up and leaving no items behind in the barrel. Any idea why that is? Playing on Xbox/Bedrock
you need a sign so the lava doesn’t go down and burn it
You should try using a stone button. They take less time to reset before you can press again. Better yet, you can replace the block the button is on with an observer facing the button. Each button click will cycle the dispenser on and off and it should save your cows from getting killed by lava.
don’t make the same mistake i did. I let the lava stay in the kill pit for too long and what should of been at least 5 stacks wasnt even a full stack.

Your hopper isn't Connected to the chest or barrel. Crouch and click on the chest with the hopper
You can Use Sword with Fire Aspect and looting 3, Killing Cows by that gives you more Leather and Cooked Steaks 😊
When i put lava in the dispenser it shoots out as a bucket of lava how do infix this?

It took me a while to figure out the issue but i misplaced the second sign and put it in front of the dispenser. This is seen as solid block therefore the dispenser doesn't work. By reviewing the video i saw that the 2nd sign needed to be one higher. This will solve your issue

okay cool all is fine and dandy until the lava won't reach the space to kill the baby cows unless i remove the lower sign, but always they die and the drops burn before the lava goes away.
You got to wait until they grow up. Baby cows don't drop anything.

2 minutes for every breeding
About 5 minutes for a baby to grow up
Meaning its beef and leather every 7 minutes
Also if you want you can automate the wheat into the breeder have it auto breed the cows every 2 minutes meaning beef and leather even faster

Note : this is a java tutorial not bedrock. As you cannot place multiple cows in one block in bedrock Lol thanks for wasting my time :)
