For a very long time I did this traditional rancher style with a 20x24 double fence of cows. Just like RL it was a pain to manage. This will help out a ton. Love the chill vibe.
Mine isn't quite as big, but I have an attached "barn" that has a 1 high hole in the wall for calves to walk though, with trap doors on the other side. I feed the cows, walk to the other side of the barn with wheat in my hand, the calves jump in the water stream and wait in the kill chamber.

In order to do that I put an upper slab above and pushed down with a piston. Then opened up from the top of the second chamber and removed the block that was now in the original temporary block position.

My cow farm includes a fence that is 8x8 up against a "barn" that has a 1 high section that calves can walk through, and trap doors they fall through. I feed the cows, they breed, then I walk over to the window on the other side of the barn, and all the little ones fall right on in to my water stream to their underground kill chamber.

You have to remove the block that you placed blocking the water flow. As for the cows not maturing you need to be within the chunk for them to grow i think that’s within a 64 block radius. Baby cows also take 20 minutes to grow to be patient
When you used stairs for the first time and then said "we're gonna grab our stairs again" it made me rewatch the whole video to see where I missed you using stairs. Slick.. 😂 It got you more watch time anyway.

Also get rid of the glass blocks and replace them with 2 slabs, one above the chest slab and the other above the top sign on the inside. It’ll make a one block wide window. Breed them through the open space. It works flawlessly after those changes and the adult cows fall down.

@@justinmaness6538bro that’s the point. You leave your breeding population at the top (for 1*1), then you make max amount of babies you can, and let em grow, you can breed the cows every 2 minutes. Once they turn to adult cows kill them. If it got rid of the cows up top, this farm would be slow because you’d be constantly breeding up your cows.
found only one small issue on java which is that if you take the optional step of building a fencepost on top of the cow pit, seemingly it prevents the babies from falling into the lower chamber, because they keep bouncing on the surface of the water.

you used a dropper, not a dispenser. i think you can just destroy the dropper you placed and craft a dispenser using it and a bow
