- The unique conditions of Arabia have created opportunities for the weird and wonderful Oman Garra fish - who’s dull appearance belies their pioneering aspirations. Most of the time they must live in tiny stagnant pools, but flood water creates new channels through the rocks linking pools together. It’s a chance to expand into new territory, but to do so they must become rock climbers, heaving themselves over rapids. It’s a terrible gamble; some fish will find dead ends, leaving them high and dry. But by taking the chance, others will succeed and populate new Wadis. Wadi’s create opportunity, the key to survival in this most hostile terrain.

I wAtched this several times and still love watching.
This fish mainly found in fresh water stone river. It's very tasty. When I was young I go catching this fish.
The heck? How do you have the audacity to eat them. They surely be working their asses off just to do rock climbing. They can't die consumed by other animals 😂
These are so small how can you even eat them? They are so fragile I don't think you should even touch them.

Just like a freshwater fish we called "bunog" in the Philippines. Same characteristics with a mongara, they climb waterfalls.

Gobies like the "bunog" have specialized pelvic fins rather than sucker mouths to hold on to surfaces.

This type of fish are here in our place also, they come to lay eggs in the month of June-July in our paddy fields after heavy rainfall in a very thin water. We used to see the same as in this video.
