The fact that a Cuttlefish life span is only 2 years and yet they mimic other dangerous animals that they sometimes never even met is just insane. DNA is crazy.
Yes, I sometimes call it cross-generational intelligence or memory but I'm sure evolution has a better term for it. The fact that there's an underlying memory, intelligence, and imagination within every living being that transfers to the next one. I know some people will say "that's just DNA" but it feels like more is going on than that. I suppose it's the closest thing to a God we have (the 'greater mind' within all living beings).
DNA is a coding language. Anyone who can't see that is willfully suppressing the truth. It's just a fact. No, dust and water and lightning didn't make code over billions of years. If you found a Shakespeare sonnet laying on a beach, you don't say time and chance produced it. You know an intelligent person made it. Same with DNA. Very simple to understand God made all life. That's not to say especiation from a broader genome to a more specific expression doesn't occur, but that's a loss of data, not gains over time. Close to all mutations are deleterious upon the genome.

if you focus in on the "shadowing" effect the patterns create, it makes it pretty much impossible to notice that the cuttlefish was slowly moving towards the camera, i think i've found exactly how the "mesmerizing" mechanic works. when the dark stripes head down and towards the face, in the opposite direction the cuttlefish is moving, it creates a "movement camoflage" to onlookers, to trick them into thinking that the cuttlefish is stationary.

I am from Southeast Asia and unfortunately, these reefs are threatened by the Chinese exploitation in the Scarborough Shoal. Lmao stop fighting😂
@@DrFarisArab lmao so mad😂
We have a cuttlefish display at the Tennessee Aquarium, and I can watch them for hours. They constantly shift their pigmentation even when resting. I understand how the crab is hypnotized. Its truly mesmerizing to watch.
The fins of Cuttlefish moves like a Sine Wave. So perfect.
0:29 that's Dory and Nemo's father right there
Imagine being the crab at 3:24, just minding your business and then some pulsating UFO with a face materializes out of nowhere.
The voice of David Attenborough touches the core. Love for the Legend.
Crabs: ALIENS!
Mantis shrimp: oh to hell with that.
Most views are due to the sound effects and the awesome cinematography.. they have created a story of sorts. Hats off to the creator
How... in the world... did... they get this footage?? So many perfect angles at the exact moment of a kill
One of the great pleasures I've had in life is listening to David Attenborough describe the wonders of our magnificent planet.
Cuttlefish... thank God they're not bus sized.
audio tech guy: I need to practice adding sound effects
Bbc earth: there’s a video about cuttlefish coming up!

@Hello Maise
Didn't expect this video to be this amazing, mesmerized by the beauty of cuttlefish. Keep up the good work BBC. Please also show the dark side of shooting like all the plastic in oceans , destruction of coral reefs etc..

1:37 you know this guy is a badass when even the mantis shrimp cowers in fear
Bruh I cannot believe my eyes, that's out of this world pure talent
My only question is how the cuttlefish isn’t everyones favorite animal
after cats, you mean.
Axolotl
Kinda hard to cuddle, despite the name.
looks like an eldritch critter

The alien-like sounds were on point! The sound engineer deserves a rise!
I am from Southeast Asia and unfortunately, these reefs are threatened by the Chinese exploitation in the Scarborough Shoal. They've built an airstrip in a very small island where these reefs are located. Imagine how much dredging and filling it needs to do that. Moreover, different commercial and military ships that pass through sometimes drag along these like the USS Guardian from the US.
Huh…why am I not surprised
Absolutely disgusting what we’re doing to our planet. Southeast Asia is gorgeous I pray I make it their some day ❤️
lol, what bullshit. You just triggered that you dont have the tech to do the same thing.
I've caught a cuttlefish once, when I was younger and I remember changing It's colours. It was really cool.
Sea life is so much more impressive and fascinating than anything we have on land.. and to know that there are still so many creatures in deep seas that we still don’t know about is mind boggling
The sound effects guy sounds like he’s trying to make this an action movie
If you look at the pattern movement closely, it gives the illusion of movement - away from the prey.
it's called a passing cloud i have the cuttlefish documentary they are amazing.
His voice just does something to you❤
0:51 * Forever Alone *
1:29 that crab looked so scared
I can understand the crab, if I saw something like that on my front lawn, I’d also be stunned beyond comprehension😂
Credit to the camera man … sound effect person and the narrator sir David Attenborough
large crab: haha me have big claws you die
cuttlefish: *activates creative mode*
These are the videos that deserve billions of views. Hats off to all the people involved in it and Bow down to mother nature

So this is what Klaw was talking about.🤣Cuttlefish are scary and mesmerizing.
Came looking for a marvel reference 😆 not disappointed lol
@@the_grand_inquisitor2511 same here😅
At 2:08 it looks like the cuttlefish is concentrating and focusing all its energy towards its superpower and flexes its tentacles (arms?) to show its ready.
1:01 Seriously how do the camera men set up their shots for the action?!
I never knew sea life could be so Ultra-Colourful 🐠🐟🎏🦈
they invented color :p
It’s very beautiful down there
2:17 Really creeped me out. And damn the music is great.
Squidward went full hypno on Mr. Krabs
It's funny how you give the animals a sense of humor or "human feeling " when the angles of certain clips are in play... Example. Where the cuttlefish is on the prowl and the shrimp looks out of the hole then scurries back inside
I felt like I was watching Finding Nemo.
The beauty of the earth is so amazing sometimes it doesnot even look real. It's beauty alone is a sign that there is a creator.
Absolutely amazing photography. The audio was great as well. Spaceship cuttlefish.
Cuttlefish: Hypnotic waves of colour
Crab: So... trippy... must... keep watching... so... beautiful...
Shark: Hi.

For future reference...
Sir David Attenborough 👍🏻
BBC nightmare fuel is on Point! David's calming voice, That sound mix, and Cuttlefish.
Cuttlefish or cuttles are marine molluscs of the order Sepiida. They belong to the class Cephalopoda, which also includes squid, octopuses, and nautiluses. Cuttlefish have a unique internal shell, the cuttlebone, which is used for control of buoyancy.
