    On second looks, I think that 110 World Record is a press-out/no lift. What do you all think?

      personally I would have given one red light from the front. From the side the press out wasn't that obvious.
      Tough to judge in the moment. Hopefully Kuo attempts this again in Tokyo and leave no doubt next time!

      @9702Lewis 3 роки тому +4

      Agreed that it would be tough to judge from the side judge’s perspective but yes it is a no lift in my eyes.

      definitely press out, I was surprised when you mentioned scapula depression...

    • @jacobpascool
      @jacobpascool 3 роки тому +5

      I think for sure it was a press out. As always judging does have a level of subjectivity to it and the judges are human to make mistakes. I believe more egregious press outs have been given and less egregious ones have been called no lifts. I guess the interpretation of the press out rule is also a bit difficult to officiate.

      Since they gave her a no lift on 133. Same should have happened on the 110 snatch. Both instances the elbow quickly bends then locks out.

    Kuo Hsing-Chun, her name 'Hsing-Chun' means 'the survivor', was due to the hardship of her birth. However, Kuo is actually of indigenous background, and her real name is Tana in Amis.
    Thank you for sharing this, she is such a role model to us. She has been helping her hometown with the prize she won over the years. Not only she won the glorious medals, but her kindness is what makes us love her so much.
    Politics aside, Olympics medals aside, i hope more ppl would know her for she's a beautiful human being.

      well...actually the name "Hsing-Chun" has no meaning in chinese
      the word "lucky to survive"is written like this :倖存

      its sound similiar but diffirent

      As a Taiwanese, we've known that 倖存 is diffrent to 婞淳 already. 😉
      However, that's actually the reason of naming at the beginning, and it was told by her parents in one media interview before.
      On the other hand, hardly no one will use the accurate word 倖存 as his/her own name. It's quite weird.

    • @johntsoukas8723
      @johntsoukas8723 3 роки тому +5

      That is why it should be abolished.After all in snatch there is no press out.It is a natural movement that in many people is present although their elbows are locked.Only in clean and jerk there can be a press out but it isn't something that actually helps the lifter ,in fact it is vastly more difficult.Practically half of Taranenko's lifts and other especially super heavies of the past shouldn't count???The Jury is a new way to put somebody else into the mix and change results by intervention.The winner is the one that lifts the most weight this is clear as day,or at least it should be.
