I think this commentary team needs to be a thing! Anyone else you want to see join us?
I know you said it on stream, but the major Olympic categories
maybe if Zack is not available ask Fitz, so we have Sika + Seb. All 4 might be to much but wouldnt mind giving it a try

The chinese commentary at 1:37 is saying that Li Daying had a back injury and went through surgery before this...props to him
Was wondering if he injured himself after the third snatch, as he was looking sore and reaching for his back. Still not 100% from that surgery then.
Makes sense. Did almost seem like he was deliberately pulling the lifts at times but 🤷♂️
Was a bad idea to try 175 after coming out of surgery.
@@jiv32 exactly, he got rekt by that 175 lift
I just hope he recovers and it's not a serious recurring injury.
Its so funny how none of their predictions is accurate😂👍
Zackd prediction about lu doing 174 and then li doing 175 tho
@@futurewolftsw4462 not a particularly impressive one. Remember 173 was the previous wr. They just named the weight that would make a new wr :p
I exploded while reading the comment and hearing them say hes gonna nailed it. OOHH noooo he fails 😂😂😂😂
My prediction: whoever wins, wins.
They seem to be confused on why Lu Xiaojun came back out for that last C&J. Lu has nothing to prove to us, but may still have something to prove to himself. You don't get to that high of a level without pushing past where most people think you should go. I like that he goes for it honestly. If he trust himself to give it an honest shot without major injury, hell yea lets see it
Hope Li can get back to being healthy, that comp took a toll it looks like.
While I agree with you, I would rather see him saving himself for the big stage in Tokyo, bowing out of the game with a new WR total. How incredible would that be?
Yeah. It honestly might be his last Olympics too, his company seems like its doing great for WL/PL gear. Plus if he sells Anta lifters directly with more color options.
Gold , Tokyo Olympics
@@wleng And....... A Gold again
@@Aakash.Singh1 to me he is the GOAT!
Bittersweet feeling here. Lu is just insane and Li Dayin broke my heart. Had high hopes for this boy.
Same.
he is still young. Lu xiaojun debut at the age of 25 his first worlds
Li looked hurt after that 175kg snatch. You can just see his body language.
Yep
Body language makes it sound like it wasn't an instant and overt reaction of grabbing his back and wincing, then doing it again after every single lift lol.
The commentators said that he just finished rehab for his back surgery prior to this competition
What’s a pity
Li had injured his back and had a surgery before this. Lu is a very lucky man.
Lu is back a gold medal from Tokyo olympics 2020!!!!
Boys I have to say as someone who's been slowing getting into weightlifting, this format with this lineup I think is superb. Really interesting to hear the anecdotal stories that add character depth to the lifters makes for even more interesting watching. And the way you guys personalities work together is great. More of this please and thanks 👍🏽👍🏽
@12:10 correction, Lu's best total of his life in comp was 381 (174/207) at the 2016 chinese nationals
great commentary !!! your faces about was going on there were great. Thank you for thissss.
WHAT would LU gain from FAKING that injury? In fact he was literally laying on the floor!, between every lift. Gettting COLD with ICE on his back. And then goes out and does 207 Body completely COLD, no warmups .. that shit was INSANE.
That's what Eoin doesn't seem to understand. Why on Earth would he make it that much harder to win the most important competition of the year by laying around being iced for 30 min between lifts? It literally makes zero sense to do that for shits and giggles. And even if somehow, some reason he was faking it, he was still on the floor being iced with no warmup lifts lol...
enjoying these commentated comps!
i love Zack and his commentary, but this was hilarious at first
"i guarantee you he's not gonna lift here (...) Lü's gonna follow himself" Li lifts, Lü moves up 5kg.
"if he makes this it's gonna be his competition (...) Lü is fucked" Li ends up bombing out on c&j and Lü wins.
"i don't know about this one..." Lü nails it.
Dude LU isn’t Swedish you don’t have to put ü’s on his name lol. But that was really funny
@@blaiseclapper787 when translating 吕小军 from mandarin to roman letters, Lü Xiaojun is literally the correct way to spell his name. it's not pronounced Lu, it's more like Lyu. kind of. sorry you're too ignorant to understand how language and translation works, and that there are more letters than the standard 26 english ones.

You can see Li Dayin always shift to his left leg. His right lower back is in trouble, he can heal and come back stronger.
Seb. You deserve this. Thanks what u do for us fans. without u i wouldnt have any weightlifint. god bless u and ur family and loved ones.
At Lu's age, any competition could be his last that he is in contetionfor a record. May as well go for that record.
I watched this live . Lu’s coach told him that there is no need to try such a heavy weight. Lu said he just wanted to feel the feeling on the court.
This is awesome, like fight companion but you guys actually pay attention!
You guys need to do this again. So much fun to watch!
7:20 Eoin just froze 😂
Lu fails 165. Goes for 170. Completes it.
Big flex.
did no one notice li walk off in pain after his last snatch?
He definitely felt something in his lower back. Or so it seemed. In the full live stream the boys speculated in the use of faking injuries as a tactic for Chinese male lifters specifically.
@@NicolaiAwesome like they said. Back in 2019 wc. If you have a lower back injury you can't break the c&j world record. You're not injured.
He definitely did injured his back. No reason to bomb on the clean and jerk, his power jerk is monster. Lu was kinda lucky he had this injury, otherwise it would be a hard time for him to catch up later. Hope he heals soon and becomes world champion and Olympic champion
@@Threewlz it's reason to miss a c&j if it's bad. That much weight moving with messed up back. We all lift I assume and if you are banged up it can take away your gumption; let alone knowing you have lu right on your ass.

Nice video. What the song at the very end when the WH logo appears?
2 minute clock. "He still has time to learn the split jerk!" hahaha
Li Dayin definitely injured his back on the last snatch attempt. Otherwise he wouldn't bomb on the clean and jerk. A shame, he is my favorite lifter and wanted to see him in the Olympics. Nonetheless he went home with the world record in snatch
Exactly. Plus look when he bows before he lifts he winces in pain.
He had a back surgery no long before the competition. Maybe that snatch pulled something.

Too bad for Li. Looked like he wasn't the same after his WR (3rd) snatch 6:58, I'm guessing it tweaked his back and left him in a bad spot for the clean and jerk. Would have been great to see a clean and jerk battle too. Grats to Lu, an absolute legend!
I was really hoping for Li Dayin to win and go to these Olympics... Looks like he has serious troubles with that back...
吕小军 Lu Xiaojun, 37 years old (1984) . 李大银 Li Dayin, 23 years old(1998).

It was very disheartening to see Li Dayin bomb out all the three C&J attempts.
He is my favorite lifter. Also his limp gives scares of him out for 1 year more
I'm glad Lu is going because he was the better choice and not because it could be his last Olympics. Imagine he gets gold and leaves his shoes on the podium.

I’m gonna say it after C&J attempt number 2 Li should have declined 3rd attempt. Don’t know if he needs-needs that total for the ROBI points but coach needs to listen to his athlete in that scenario, his athlete is going to keel over in pain he’s not hitting big numbers today.
He wanted a last chance to show he should be picked for the Olympics. With a newly set world record in snatch there was still a possibility.
@@andersgustavsson8232 even with this bomb out he is still favorite to go to Olympics robi points wise. But China would choose Lu regardless. Imo Li should go, but Lu is their favorite for their taste, or whatever
True, he was even shaking after his last attempt. No need for that, man, boy has just recovered out of a surgery and now is possibly injured again, risking his career and stuff. But hey, they are his coaches after all. Maybe I'm spelling bullshit here. But it was too risky imo.
@@Threewlz this was the last major tournament before Olympics where Li could prove he can beat Lu. That's why he needed the total. Lu has beaten Li every time in big tournaments. China will pick him because they want gold medals. That's why guys like Tian Tao probably won't go either, because they don't know if he can bring home a gold medal.
@@andersgustavsson8232 in the Tianjin cup Li beat Lu and in Switzerland Li compete too while Lu didn't, did a 170kg snatch. Matter of fact, at 23 years of age, Li has snatched 170 or more at least 5 times already. 204kg clean and jerk two times, 206kg clean and jerk. 377kg total. He is a monster. That is why he has more robi points. Lu bombed out in the 2015 wwc and lost the gold in the last Olympic, and had a poor performance in the Tianjin cup. Li Dayin did a new wr at the iwf world cup of Fuzhou too, senior world record and junior world record. He is more consistent than Lu so far, tho Lu has that adrenaline pump when is needed, it is undeniable that Li is a more consistent lifter than him. 23 years old, junior wr, snatch wr, higher robi points count. Imo the only reason why they wouldn't send Li over Lu is favoritism and Li recovering his back from his recent surgery. It's clear that Li bombed out in this championship due to awkward position in his last snatch and possibly injuring his back... Seb himself said that China will choose Lu because of his favoritism, otherwise if they were going for a more technique oriented pick, they would choose the more consistent lifter with a higher robi points count
Lmao and Zack tried to write Lu off after that first lift, when will people learn 🤦♂️

I did not expect for Li to bomb out, woah. That WR snatch must've taken all of him sadly.
how did no one comment on li looking taxed as hell after that 175 snatch
Lu is becoming a legend
What do you mean becoming? If he’s not a legend already then who is!
He literally walked away holding his back at the end of the first lifts sets. Then everyone acts surprised when he struggles with the exercises lifts. 2nd set/exercise was clean and jerk, correct? He hurt his back doing the first exercise. He walked away holding his back on the lift of that set.
Just confused as to why the commentators are surprised he's having trouble with the lifts of the 2nd exercise.
I don't understand why Zack thinks Li Dayin would try to embellish the injury...
This squat jerk technique is so bad it has only provided him 5 world championships.
That's only because he's very strong. It also cost him one world and one Olympic title. Literally jumps out of the clean then loses balance in the stupid squat jerk
@@loluskekus hes better at squat than at split so…
@@kaliningradtoczechrepublic8162 He's still bad

Hope this doesn’t sound rude but it’s more fun to watch a lift build the tension and wonder than to talk up until he’s already lifted it. It felt weird having to concentrate on what someone’s saying while watching a potentially very good matchup and not actually taking the lifts in at all

Is It Category of 60 kg
Guys i have a curiosity... why China dont have Weightlifter in category over 109 kg?If im not wrong they has only 1 weightlifter in 2008-2014,now no even one. Is a "choice" on federation of China?Or is cause on structural body?Or is a question of numbers, every country can bring a tot on athletes and for this reason prefer bring the top weightlifters?
They have many, they just don't perform at the level of their lighter athletes and it makes more sense for them to send those with higher chance of winning. Ai Yunan is usually the top super in China, he's done 193/237 in international competition.
@@AfferbeckBeats Ah ok,now i understand.Thank you very much for answer:)

Lu's two first cleans at 208 looked like my clean with an empty bar. If this guy would have learned split jerk I think his C&J record would probably be over 210!!!!
Learned? He said he has tried it and his bodies mechanics prevents him from doing so.
split needs a lot more upper body strength which lu doesnt have
@@kaliningradtoczechrepublic8162 well first of all he has plenty of strenght and split jerk doesn't require any more upper body strenght, the elevation of the bar, the jerk, comes from the legs and lower body, youbare catching the bar with straight arms, not pressing it out
@@lepepus i know but squat jerk still is a lot more lower body dominant
@@kaliningradtoczechrepublic8162 huh? Split jerk overall requires much less upper body strength, but more footwork/speed, better use of stretch reflex, or in some cases more leg strength, not upper body. Squat jerk requires both more upper body and squat strength. Lu arguably has the strongest upper body of any 81kg lifter... how many 81kg lifters casually do 100kg dips?
