The filming, the build up, and the action in this scene- it’s like a work of art. The scene was shot so incredibly well, you knew what Beck was facing and thinking the whole time.
Honestly? I always thought the character of "Beck" deserved another movie - either a prequel (telling the backstory of him) or a sequel showing his development. There was a lot of potential in it
Apparently, it didn't do very well at the box office despite decent reviews, but now that The Rock is better known in Hollywood the movie has gained more appreciation
This movie is when I realized he gonna be a hell of an actor. Sure, he was a wrestling superstar before but this movie he was spot on as Beck. I still remember the chill this scene gave me 17 years ago.

Such a badass scene. I get goosebumps everytime the intro song starts playing. And I think I'm going to hire someone with a green screen so I can walk away from a fake explosion like it doesn't phase me.
When you’re trying to level up your “unarmed” skill but your team consists of your split screen partner, an afk Scottish man spouting pseudo philosophical nonsense over the mic and a herd of cattle:
If you ever wonder why Beck hold so much, the reason is pretty simple: he is a mercenary in the end. His mission was to bring back the kid alive to his father in LA. Beck knew that the failure of his mission would make him forever in depth to Billy. The fact that he started to become friendly with the kid was just a plus to save his life, but in the end, Beck is a mercenary. So he put his conscience aside and started shooting some guns.
No I don’t think that’s right- he is definitely not a mercenary. A mercenary uses a gun all the time. I suspect his backstory involves the military and somewhere in there his dislike of guns. Just because he can wield a weapon does not make him a mercenary. In addition, his behavior during the rest of the movie does not point to someone who is a mercenary. More like a multi faceted “collector” of sorts.
A number of awesome anime hit their cool scenes when the MC goes zen and wipes out the enemy without killing them. Beck hits his cool scene when he flips the kill switch.
the effective range on a point target (aiming at a single target) with 12 gauge buckshot is 50+ yards or 150+ feet. That's half the length of a football field. The Terminal effectiveness of 12 gauge buckshot (the range that buckshot is still lethal) is 100+ yards. The full length of a football field. None of the ranges shot in this scene were outside the capability of a marksman with even an amateur level of skill.
Used to watch this movie in middle school every day I had a basketball game. I was a creature of habit/superstitious. Before every game my mom would have Mac and cheese and this movie waiting on me when I got home from school lol

@@JustSomeCanadianGuy Yeah, Rock needed a James Cameron. I don't mind Rock's more goofy movies, but I wish he had at least one classic movie or movie series that was more serious and amazing, like how the first 2 Terminator movies were. Arnold Swarzenegger only had a few goofy movies, but most his movies are badass, classic, or both. While Rock has too many goofy movies and not enough serious movies. But I don't know which newer younger director who's as good as James Cameron that could've gave Rock an excellent movie.
When I was 13 I thought this was the coolest scene ever
It still is cool as hell bro
Oh it still is
Well apparently you're gonna stay 13 all your life😆😆😆
It still is.
I was maybe 7 and I couldn’t stop watching this movie
in my opinion, the rundown is still my favourite the rock movie ever.
LUCAS RENTON I agree this and scorpion king. Back when he was in good movies not like today when he’s in ever movie now a days it’s so annoying
i agree with you! i love the rock's old movie, not now.
This Doom and Walking tall

Director Berg wanted to do a sequel or prequel with Rock and Jonah Hill but none of the studios were feeling it.
Better this way
if it makes you feel better, all of his movies in this time we all about the same guy,
Hobbs vs beck hahaha
Apparently, it didn't do very well at the box office despite decent reviews, but now that The Rock is better known in Hollywood the movie has gained more appreciation
I just liked the inclusion of the poem "do not go gently into the night" it was well acted and spoken.

Smoldering Intensity

Sounds like the Rock's other character in the remake of Jumanji...

And Race to wich mountain
please stop reminding me how old movies are, it depresses the hell out of me 😩
Before the name change to his early movie he was credited as The Rock now it’s Dwayne Jonson
Well, the WWE is acting, so it makes sense that at least some of the top WWE stars would be decent actors

Of course not, because cool guys use explosions for awesome background shots. :D

They should make a video game where your character turns two pump guns into a double barrel.
