    In the last 5 years I've owned a Nissan 370z, Audi TT quattro tuned to 380BHP, Cooper Works custom Mini, Mazda MX-5 RF and my new Orange Edition 2017 blows all of them out of the water. Even going around town at 30 mph I have a permanent smile on my face, it really is the perfect car and a keeper for LIFE! Forget all that 0-60 in 4.2 seconds from my TT - any petrol head that knows what "driving" is all about will realise that the GT86 is an incredible car...

      I borrowed a gt86 my bro had for sale and.....
      Yeah I bought it and it reminds me of when I first got into e30s.
      Probably the RWD effects..
      And at the time my brother had a caymen gt4, for the money the gt86 made a lot of sense...
      Still got the 86 and an e30

      hi
      i owned GT86 4years and
      now have Cayman 981
      and honestly the GT86 was great fun for much less money
      now thinking of buying one again for doing some trackdays
      (cayman too expensive to use as trackcar...)

      @@cayman9815 ain't that uncanny.
      The yellow good brakes tho and the 3.8 bark are so good on the porsche the 86 ain't got that.
      But tbh with the gt86 aero minus the wing it get attention and that surprised me.
      And you can see the tops of the wing/fenders the same..

      Driving the gt4 and the gt86 in a short space of time made me appreciate the 86 so much they got a different layout yes . the porsche is not getting a hard time off me right now because i love that car tooooo but as a platform the 86 will be around for a long time like all the slow fast cars

    BRZ owner here, my car is still stock except for a muffler delete. It's nice to find videos of drivers pushing the car in its stock form. Mine will be staying N/A for awhile, with just bolt on mods because it is still daily driven.

      @@justinguerrero6357 No answer. But also a good question would be if the mufller delete affects negatively on power or throttle response, as NA cars are more reactive to changes in backpressure than turbo cars

    Great. Do you know how good or bad is the oil temperature during a lap? If 100% stock I suppose yo didn't have an aftermarket oil cooler

    • @windcraker
      @windcraker  2 роки тому +3

      Indeed that video was full stock, this was in a normal 18-22°c day and oil temps after only 2 laps are already above 110°c
      Aftermarket oil cooler keeps you around 90°c all day around

    • @alamos8
      @alamos8 2 роки тому +1

      @@windcraker well, 110°C in 2 laps is good fir being stock. Thst means that you can go a single lap without worring of that (I'm reading a lot about these kind of cars these days, as I put an order this week for a GR86. I'm from Spain)

  • @giupy86

    What's that yellow caution light along with the display message indicating? I was curios to see your oil temps at the Ring where I'm planning to go soon with my GT86. Mine is still stock with Primacy tires as yours! 😊

    • @windcraker
      @windcraker  5 років тому +1

      The yellow is the airbags not active, oil temps gets over 110 sitting 120-130max, but the problem for me is the stock normal edition brakes (pads), I destroy them in 8 laps damaging the rotors as well

    • @giupy86
      @giupy86 5 років тому +1

      @@windcraker Thanks for your answer. I don't have problems with brakes, this Brembo pack is really good on this car. Regarding the oil temps, I'm really leaning towards fitting an oil cooler, very simple installation.

    Awesome car thanks for vid. Right car wrong track. This circuit requires car with aero and 400hp and around 1400 kg weight to put grip onto road at high speed corners. But did you see how quickly you closed ground against that "small" hatchback in the first series of tight corners. Amazing car.
    But on this track main thing is need 400 hp to be taken seriously, maybe 500hp if driver is able tune to put down power the whole way.
    That's why the GTR has the numbers it has. 1600 plus kg. 500 plus hp.
    I would buy gt86 anyday but would choose another track. I would also supercharge to 260-270 hp.
    It MURDERS cars 3-5x it's price on Gunsai.
    If you insist to continue on this track, need a big ancient turbo and engine internals changed to crank out 400hp. You won't be left out on straights and you will murder on the winding tight roads
    Many people sell Nurburgring as the be all track. It's most straights and high speed corners with a few winding tight low speed corners
    The F1 version of the nurburgring track is much shorter and PERFECT for the gt86 with a supercharger. You will murder many cars. Murder them DEAD. And you will learn the gt86 faster because it's being used for what it was designed for: closed tight circuits and togue... So when you go to other closed circuit tracks and real world togue your skills will be improved far quicker. Selection of home track is so important. Selection of car is so important. Will save you so many hours and push your learning curve.
