I'm BLOWN AWAY by this track! While this match-up has fairly simple connections, I mainly want it because Mario and Classic Mega Man were my childhood heroes, and was disappointed to find very little crossover music for the two. However, I had a lot of money left over from Christmas, so I gave Therewolf Media the cash to make my dream a reality!
Speaking of which, Therewolf was amazing to work with! I'd highly recommend commissioning them at some point! Communication was on point and the track is everything I could've asked for!

3:51 I like to imagine megaman is using the power gear to shoot mario with every weapon he has before mario does his own final trump card.
Said trump card being summoning the Oozer from Mario + Rabbids Sparks parks of Hope, which casts Muzzle to shut off Mega Man's abilities. We cut to an 8 bit screen listing Mega Man's various weapons and it turns entirely black, the text turning a glowing orange and the names changing to "SILENCED" as the Oozer's "BWAH hah hah" reverberates. Mega Man tries to pull the Darkmess off his face but looks up to see Mario's foot coming down upon it.
Mario jumps off Mega Man repeatedly, brutally stomping him into a blue metal pancake.

@@Annihilate0405 Mario's canon is extremely loose and the + Rabbids duology calls back to Luigi's Mansion (Luigi being familiar with "nozzle-based weaponry" in his bio) and the Galaxy games (Bowser promising not to pound Mario and Co into starbits until he's in control of the galaxy AGAIN) so it's got as much justification as the Mario and Luigi series does. At worst it'd be the "same characters in different scenarios" justification used for compositing Dragon Ball Super's manga and anime.

For the record, I assumed that we just got a track for the Mario VS Mega Man episode of Smash Bracket like the rematch for that one, but this looks really interesting.

When I first saw this come up I thought the people at smash bracket had commissioned this lol. It would be really cool if they used this track in their rematch episode. Because they’ve used tracks that weren’t specifically commissioned for their episodes before.

Yeah that works well with the beat of the music
When I saw "Mario VS Mega Man" I just *knew* it'd make for an incredible track. And I wasn't wrong at all, that thing's an utter blast to listen to.
Right from the start, the inclusion of the Mario intro that then cuts to an absolute *earblast* (which, as fun fact, actually hurt my ears when I listened to it in the première because of how unexpected it was) of epic music directly sets the tone. The fact that we get such an epic intro is a great way to represent the meta implications of the matchup: this fight is not between just any two characters, it's between two of gaming's grandest characters and the fight that's to come will be one hell of a battle.
Then we get a fluid transition at 0:59 into something that I didn't know but that is apparently a boss fight theme from Megaman and I gotta say that it's quite nicely used here as, as someone who knows virtually nothing of Megaman, this segment didn't feel like it broke the tone of the song at all. It plays wonderfully in the first segment of the song and then is transitioned out of really well. That's the type of reference that I really like as if you know the track you'll love it but if you don't you'll still be able to appreciate it.
Also gotta mention the guitar solo going along with it which makes for a really nice addition to the track that fits both series' musical types and represents the more "modern" sides of both characters really well. It helps give more substance to the track and reflects the characters well, what's there more to ask ?
After this comes the 2:20 segment which begins the third act of the song and I gotta say that I really like it too. It still has that very uplifting tone that the rest of the song has to fit both characters but in addition also has a very magical feel to represent the sheer impact that those characters have had on many people: they're not just characters, they're pretty much legends of the video game industry. And this segment even more so than the rest of the track represents that wonderfully. And it fits doubly Mario especially as this style of music is exactly what's present in a lot of games (IE: Galaxy, Odyssey).
But Megaman also gets his own fitting segment for that part starting at 2:53 with a much more Megaman-focused guitar in Willy 1's theme that's been changed in a wonderful show of reference while still being unique that takes the spotlight of the track again altho in unison with the more Mario-focused one which makes for a wonderful bit of song building as you can easily imagine the previous segment being a bit where Mario has an advantage before Mega Man comes back out to match him, putting them both at even grounds for the "finale."
Or so the song tries to tell you as it slowly fades at 3:48 but instead picks back up at 3:51 instantly in a great fake out ending that actually surprised when I first listened to the song. It really does sound like one character is dying but they just use their one special item to get back in the fight for the final epic showdown. And the use of Mega Man II's main theme really helps sell the intensity of this final segment because it perfectly represents the overall tone of the track: intense, epic but uplifting, wonderfully fitting for the characters.
Overall this track is everything I expected from this matchup and I definitely don't mind it as this was grandiose. It's a track that definitely is worthy of representing a matchup between such icons of the video game industry. And from the première I now know that Codecrasher4367 actually made a lot of work on it which makes me greatly appreciate their talent as it's extremely qualitative. Altho of course this applies to both them and Therewolf too, but I still wanted to mention it particularly. Either way, point is that this song is freaking epic and I love it. Amazing work to both artists with ths.
For 0:59 , It's motif is similar to Bubble Man, a robot master from Mega Man 2.

The only one that matters is Bowser Vs Eggman. Hell, if you really want a Mario Vs Sonic match up with Amy, Daisy is just better.

@@ThrillerXeroactually I don’t think that’s true. I think mega man would most likely win if not stomp and thats not just because I’m biased towards mega. He has multiple time stop abilities that would directly cut off Sonic’s speed advantage. And hell, he might even take damage from it considering quick man does. But even if that’s not the case with rock’s generally better intelligence and planing it wouldn’t take long for him to deduce sonic’s weakness. And with him fighting and beating quick man that shows us that he can fight opponents similar to sonic and still come out on top. “But sonic overcame the time stop canonically” true… for Archie sonic. Not classic. So yeah.

I might as well state my opinion on this fight.
I feel like Mario and Mega Man's arsenal would constantly counter eachother, making the battle seemingly endless in a way.
However, Mega Man's power ups have a limit of use. After a good amount of time countering Mario's abilites, the only thing our boy Mega Man will have left is the Mega Buster's Charge Shot. By that point, Mario would "rock" his world with a grand finish.
I think Mario take this one...he is too tough for Rock to make a dent in him, maybe time stop can buy him a little bit of time but the time watch can do the same. Mario survived black holes and the vacuum of space. Mario's powerups can be lost in one hit but each of them carries different abilities and would make Rock's limited ammo runs short
Not to mention the invincible stars and others similar abilities can basically shut down most of mega man's option. It would be a different story if the mega man is taken from the comic where he cross path with sonic, or the mario is from the new Mario movie in which both cases would be favor for mega man
But either way, the track is perfect blend of both franchise and someone should really make an animation out of this

Now THIS is what I call a theme for a fight between two old-school heroes. It’s always a treat to listen to retro-game recreations.
Question: If both were composite, would Mega Man win? I know that normally, Mario would simply shove him into the ground.
No. Because Mega Man X is a successor and not a counterpart like Paper Mario, Megaman cannot get XDive scaling, only Archie Sonic, and while this would get him to a higher level of Complex Multiversal than Paper Mario in the Super Mega Man form, i've heard Mario-Kun can get to outer and has fourth wall powers that allowed him to beat up the Mangaka. And even with a power advantage, the Pure Hearts and Peach Beam could strip Super Mega Man of his invulnerability (it could effect Paper Bowser with the Star Rod, who had been immune to the Star Beam mere minutes before so it'll succeed where the Key Sword failed) and it would be exceedingly capricious to bring Mega Man up to Immeasurable speed solely by going Super given how fast the Hedgehogs are and Sonic's feat being Immeasurable in BASE in the crossover itself. So Mario would still be able to outspeed, oneshot, and overwhelm Mega Man with his greater versatility.
Even if Mega Man DID win, Mario has a fair amount of extra lives with the Retry Clock and could ressurect with the Gumption Socks. Mario was able to defeat many of the bosses in Galaxy 1 and 2 without getting hit a single time in their Daredevil Runs after having fought them only once before, so his performance would be improving dramatically with every attempt and he'd win before the Retry Clocks run out.
@floatingf8783 Mario-Kun isn't canon, no? And even then his outer stuff is BS. XDiVE should be used for a composite, but regardless his best stuff comes from Archie, and he has a ridiculous arsenal of his own to match Mario's. I'd say he wins the composite fight
@@Metawire61 The whole point of a composite fight is to include non-canon stuff as well, dude…… Mario Kun is very much allowed to be used.
I'm going to make this the 2D-3DWorld Universe of Mario. This Mario has many powers at his disposal already. Many suits that pretty much grant him invincibility each time he recieves a slight. The powerups he has are Jewels, which are quite sturdy and can't be destroyed very easily by many of Mega's weapons. He could crush them, but even that would be limited to how many times his weapon energy lasts. He CAN in theory one-shot Mario with a black hole, since Mario had historically been susceptible to those. But Rock's holes are not as strong as the ones that spaghettified Mario. Also, as far as powerups, Megaman's powerups have to be manufactured. Mario's powerups can be cooked up and served. So he could try to cook himself some 1ups in a pinch. Mega will have to fumble around to find a helmet. It will be a surprising match between a seeming mortal and a robotic fighter. But Mario's defenses are quite formidable. It's a tossup, if Megaman gets a lucky shot in. Since there are pleeeeenty of things at his disposal that can *Mario death sound* him in one movement.

Both are simple happy-go-lucky heroes from 80s platforming video games who mainly serves other people with a wide variety of power ups and a happy-go-lucky and optimistic, but determined attitude
Both were born/create with some incredible and special attribute alongside 7 others (Mario was born as 1 of the 7 Star Children while Megaman was the first robot created human emotions after the failure of Protoman alongside the 6 original robot and his sister Roll)
Both were originally just normal workers (Mario took up various jobs in the big city, while MegaMan was a helper robot designed to do tasks) but later became the hero we know today after the call to fight against an army causing destruction
Both get help from time to time by very similar deuteragonist brothers who are more loners by comparison (Luigi and Protoman)

Smash Bracket made a theme for Mario vs. Mega Man before this exist. Very interesting.
How Mario wins :
Mario Transforms into a White Tanooki and beats up Mega Man and then pierces Mega Man to the Ground with a Hammer, and then crushes Mega Man's Head, Killing Mega Man.
How Mega Man wins :
Mega Man freezes time and implants a bomb on the Red Plumber's Head and creates a Black Hole near Mario, then unfreezes time for the Black Hole to suck on Mario, and Bomb explodes, Sending Mario inside the Black Hole.
Like if you like these endings. :)

Mega Man solos
Mario actually wins probably. He’s got tons of Hax mega man can’t counter and can counter most of mega man’s abilities as well.
Can someone list the similarities between the 2, because I have no idea how they're similar, aside from the fact that they're both Nintendo characters. (P.S. This track is FIRE!)
Both are video game icons, most notably in the platforming genre. Both start with “M” and used to both have “Man” in the name before Mario retired it. Both are mascots for video game companies, known to take on a nemesis that has a flying mobile (Bowser and Wily), both have a brother who is then but better mechanically (Luigi’s better jump and speed and Protoman’s shield and more powerful buster shots) have numerous amounts of abilities and have pets/allies that give them a jump boost (Yoshi and Rush) plus a copycat (Wario and Bass). Both are very courageous putting themselves in the line of danger when they really shouldn’t (Mario’s origin of being a regular plumber before risking his life to save Peach or Pauline and Megaman originally being a helper robot before volunteering to change himself to a battle robot). Plus both shared the same console that really kicked off their careers, the NES. There’s more but those are the most notable ones.

Mario DESTROYS mega man as of now, the only one stronger then Mario is Kirby and super sonic, (normal sonic would also get destroyed)
Base Sonic Is as powerful as Mario (universal), but base Sonic infinity outspeeds.
@@LaymoSupraymo yea it’s just that Mario is TO VERSATILE!!! The only thing Mario doesn’t have is a way to beat a super form, not saying that it’s easy but sonic would probably lose more then he would win… unless he goes super. (Side note, Mario without powerups wouldn’t be able to beat sonic, but the only way that’s fair is if we remove the chaos emeralds, though that wouldn’t make a difference since sonic would still win)
@@tyronecrossman5014 you see, both Mario and base Sonic are roughly equal in strength, durability, and power (being universal level) but Mario is more versatile and Sonic is way faster. In debates like these, speed is generally more important than versatility not to mention that the gap in speed between Mario and Sonic is so much greater than the gap in versatility.

It’s just the fact that including all the games, Mario has so many options that he can do almost anything putting sonic against Mario with power ups is like putting Mario against sonic with chaos emeralds (not power wise though super trumps any silly flower)
Aka there’s TO MUCH MARIO POWER-UPS! If you gave Mario 1 of every one, he’d have enough firepower to take over the world
@@tyronecrossman5014 But considering base Sonic is so fast that he can cross dimensional boundaries and repair space with his own speed, he should be able to blitz Mario for that to matter. None of this is even Archie Sonic. Like game base Sonic theoretically could move within zero seconds through his speed alone. Let’s also not forget that sonic has a bunch of abilities and power ups outside of Super Sonic, even if it’s not as much as Mario’s.
