I like the Knight, but Ori has his number. The Knight's advantages begin and end with strength and swordsmanship, while Ori outclasses him in mobility, abilities, and sustain. Ori is no stranger to keep away, has a plethora of zoning options, and powers that cripple the Knight's ability to fight both at range and in melee. The fight is as good as won the second Ori becomes wary of the Knight's skill.
@nehen2225 You imply the fight against the Radiance is something Ori couldn't pull off. Yes, the Knight does the crazy void given focus in the DLC ending, but that is only to finish the fight after a series of boss phases Ori is just as if not more than capable of accomplishing. The dream realm is notwithstanding due to the fact that the Knight would find it impossible to fight Ori in that setting. The void given focus spilling out into the world is too unquantifiable due to the question being of whether or not the void given focus can still be considered "the Knight" and would justify considering the Great Spirit Tree Ori which is equally unquantifiable.
@JaxsonEvans-pw2ff I agree that the Knight dominates up close, but only in a contest of nail vs spirit edge. Ori has both the ability to generate turrets and a wide damaging aura, meaning the Knight is going to take damage at close range even disregarding other abilities. But the most important question is whether or not Ori would be need to fight up close or be unable to keep the Knight at a distance, to which the answers are no. As for the Shade Lord form, Ori has Great Spirit Tree form. Both are reliant on forces the characters do not usually possess and both are unquantifiable.
@@vadandrumist1670 Ori can't pull that off, The Radience scales way higher than anything in Ori's verse and its attacks can't be deflected, the main reason Ori stood a chance against Kuro is his reflective ability, and even so he died in that fight too. The Knight doesn't need that setting, just being able to destroy it already makes him scale above anything Ori has ever done. You can't call it "unquantifiable" because you don't understand it.
I would like Death Battle to officially get into this in the future. What I like the most in this battle is animation potential and music potential. I could see this as a near perfect episode if it is done like the UA-cam animations of old (Guardian) instead of relying on sprites.

This is my verdict and explanation K.O THE WINNER IS THE KNIGHT Explanation: now don't get me wrong when it comes to agility and speed Ori has the Knight beat out. But if we are talking without charms then the Knight still has a better and bigger arsenal at his disposal. His ability to turn into a shade Lord and literally consume the light is too much. And considering that Ori is literally made of light it wouldn't take much for the Knight to absorb him
The possible wincon for Ori is literally the size, since we don't exactly know for sure whether Ori is much larger than the Knight or not. If Ori is much larger than the Knight, his abilities might be enough to defeat the Knight. If the size difference between Ori and the Knight is not that much, then the Knight has the advantage.
@smb99thx let me correct you respectfully. In the Hollow Knight comics that were made, it is made clear that the bugs of Hallownest are human sized, putting the Knight at about 3 ft tall. We can assume Ori is actually much smaller about 2 ft
The fact that you animated this on mobile is insane
That was a great battle. I especially loved the respawned scenes whenever Ori went down, and then Hollow knight turning into a ghost.
