As an arsenal fan I was sad to see saliba not with us coming into this season but now I see the loan makes sense as the more experienced Ben white will start for arsenal this season, saliba will come in next season and create very good competition for him. I believe managers like klopp and pep who have two good players for every position that are in constant competition with each other for the starting spot are riding a whole new wave of managerial genius, to coordinate that many personalities and play styles together rather than just being a manager who “tries to focus on finding their guaranteed starting 11” if you don’t preform for pep in particular the way he demands or at his level, he has some hungry young kid who most likely will. I think arteta is trying to do that at arsenal now
As a spectator that's followed Marseille for years, the best way to sum the team up is that they begin a season well only to finish it poorly. On other occasions when they begin the season poorly they tend to achieve respectable finishes by the end; this took place when they last won a double, capturing both Ligue 1 and the Coupe de la Ligue in the 2009-10 season. So far OM have begun the season well while missing key figures like Milik, I'd like to hope that they'll break their tendencies and continue their run but old habits die hard so their end of season will dash all of the hopes that the beginning inspired. Furthermore, on the following year, the honeymoon between Sampaoli and OM will officially be over with Sampaoli either being fired due to a poor string of results or Sampaoli leaving in relation to his disappointment that OM were not able to enhance their squad for the ensuing season. The latter scenario happened with Deschamps, Baup, Bielsa, Garcia, and Villas Boas. Marseille and its managers is usually a two-year affair outside of its caretakers, along with Deschamps who made it 3 years and Michel who was fired within his first.
