It was in Genova in the 70s (when the ultras movement was born) that every ultras group from northern Italy used to get their flares. Juventus and Torino fans were the first to do this. They used to go from Turin to Genova just to get flares. Torino and Genoa ultras have a friendship based on this. Also it is not surprising that sea cities always have the best ultras.

I know Marseille is a port city but I was expecting some more diversity amongst it's fans other than Maghrebi-dedcent supporters. I thought there were a lot of Italian, Corsican, Spanish and Portuguese people there as well.
They are actually much more corsican and italian, witch is like almost half of the city together, than magrebian people in Marseille.
But i don't know how Copa 90 choose to interview only three magrebian, and eat couscous.
I'm corsican myself we are more than 200 K in a city of one million inhabitant, and i live in a portuguese neighbourhood.
They are indeed a lot of other different nationality in marseille, like Armenian, Greek, turkish, Comorian, because it's use to be the entry in France for many immigrant during the 19 and 20th century.

I was at Lyon, supporting Atleti. We were around 9.500 Atlético fans and they were about 40.000. lots of bengals and fireworks but in the end you could only hear Atlético fans shouting and screaming..
