Key was old and worn. Try cutting the key back to specs. I rarely have a problem making old cylinders work butter smooth. It does happen occasionally. Paint thinner is really not necessary my friend

Been using paint thinner for years and have a system for cleaning everything I try to keep my truck immaculate you see I work in hospitals and most of the engineering department comes out and hangs in my truck just to see what I’ve purchased new recently. I think it gives them a place to, come out and play for a while kinda like a Mac tool truck
It’s just been my way of keeping things clean can’t go into any hospitals with black hands and filthy cylinders, especially when most of the diseases and viruses are stuck in those little crevices on lock and door parts so I find it somehow rewarding to kill the bad things with some Dinosaur fluid.
You know, I only rebuilt this thing for the show. I would’ve ditched it in the trash and started fresh. I had cut on my beautiful ITL 9007A Code cutting masterpiece. A factory original Schlage SC1 Key behind-the-scenes I think I did show it in the video. It wouldn’t even turn this nasty cylinder. Someone tried breaking into this building through this doorway and I think they wrecked everything. I wanted to show the futility of fixing something like this I wouldn’t even put a new tailpiece, retaining nut and pin in this thing showing how stupid it is to try to repair something I always use a new rarely ever does my client want me to repair same old cylinder unless it’s a Medeco Best Everest or something like that you know high-end I consider this SC4 consumable nothing more than a dirty nuisance. That’s the point I was trying to get across 😅😅
