@@tanukiaudios maybe because they all lived inside your mind before you wrote them out to meet us, your characters feel sometimes connected.
I’m always fascinated when individual stories are bound together with small details creating something more complex.
I’d like to imagine that the barista’s nightly walk takes him by an old apartment building where one apartment always has the blinds open, the same person every night looking out the windows. And maybe one night they wave at him and he waves back and it becomes a little routine. Nothing important, just someone else enjoying the city’s night lights. And maybe to the ghost having someone else notice him is a comforting surprise. Just like hearing one of the neighbours playing the piano beautifully during the days.

(Not to stifle your creativity of course . Jump to victorian era, feudal Japan, some distant future or wherever your stories take you :)
Rest assured, I’ll be jumping wherever I please, but that is so inspiring :’) it’s like you’re living in the world I’m trying to create! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the words. Little images like that are so often the starts of new scripts for me, romanticizing the mundane. I’m so in love with the idea that everyone’s grand stories are only little blips in other stories that branch out ad nauseam, it’s like it’s humbling but it also feels so life-affirming, that everything always keeps moving.

Being autistic, big crowds of people can be hard to deal with, but cities at night and in the early morning when they're not busy and have all the lights on has always been super comforting to me. With being recently diagnosed and my college plans being completely reconsidered, I needed this. Living on my own is a scary thought but things like this help me feel at least a little more prepared.
