I’m reminded of the good in people as well just going through the comments! People sharing pieces of themselves, stories and anecdotes with me and others here, it’s such an affirming feeling. Everyone is someone. It can be overwhelming to think about but I feel there’s so much wonder in it too. I like to draw on that in my characters! To bring out the feeling that they’re alive and they have passions and secrets and little fears that don’t all get voiced in the script. The world is so alive and that alone is just incredible. You don’t like parties but after he called you decide to go anyway. Just for a moment, just to see him. Just because it’s the new year.
Getting ready in a hurry, everything you put on seems stupid or frumpy or just uncomfortable. But it’s not like people will notice you, you think and pick something. Maybe little perfume to feel more fancy.
You start doubting yourself again. It’s already late, you weren’t exactly invited, you don’t know most of the people, everyone will be in couples. You’ll be the odd one out. Maybe you shouldn’t go.
And then someone knocks on your door.
He stands there and smiles, little unsure after seeing your clothes. He is familiar but still foreign. Cold air turns his breath into little buffs of smoke. Few random snowflakes still surviving in his hair. His coat is too brightly coloured, something he would never normally wear.
But he’s here, just to see you. Warmth bubbles inside you pouring out in your smile. This is a moment to be brave, to take a change.
His cheeks are still cold from the outside. And so are his lips as you finally kiss them.

(It’s nice to have you back in any capacity. Take your time. Remember that you’re not some factory that constantly spits out new content but an artisan who slowly and carefully tells the sweetest stories. We can wait :)

Ok listening to the outro made me cry… For the past 7 years, I’ve always been working on Christmas Eve + Day and New Years Day. I really didn’t have anyone to celebrate with. My friends are with their partners and my family…let’s not go there. I wasn’t alone however and I did something small like celebrate with my colleagues on breaks but nothing for myself. It was more of a formality. It’s too late to book annual leave for the Christmas holidays but I think I’ll do something small outside of work, even if it’s after shift. Thank you Tanuki as always ☺️

It's not new year's... But I just want to say that your audios have helped me a lot. You've helped me sleep and calm down. Some bad days have gotten better and some good days have gotten even better because I listened to them.
You're really creative and what you write causes emotions I haven't felt in a while. Turning my head of and just joining you on a journey always feels safe. I get the feeling you really think these through and put your heart into what you create. They're so well made!

@Weirdest Person Guaranteed The music is a recording I made myself! I improvise piano for each of the outros so it feels more like an ending. But if you want to hear more like it, I try to start and end every outro with "Les Barricades Mysterieuses" by Francois Couperin. Recently I've been thinking of learning and playing "A la Maniere De Borodin" by Ravel for it as well. Both super relaxing songs I'd really recommend!! Thanks for listening
