If I have inspired you in any way to restore your MG, I am humbled.
Why not make your own UA-cam video so that your grandkids can one day and look back at what their grandad did for them?

Watched the entire series of these videos, few camera shakes, blurred camera, couple of admitted mistakes along the way (the points!! 🙂) and that has just made this a fantastic, enjoyable and honest account of your restoration. Loved this from beginning to end and to be honest I am gutted it has finished!! I am in the market for a roadster so this is great for hints and tips of what to look out for, wished I had watched this earlier and picked this up from ebay!! Well done

Steve, thats such a great comment. I am humbled. Yeah sure I'd love to put together a highly polished video with lots of artistic camera angles and effects which make me look like I'm an expert but the fact is, I'm just a normal guy who used to be an estate agent and a builder before that who enjoys the challenge of restoring old things I pick it up as I go along.
I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment too.
I'm on no5 of my Triumph TR6 restoration at the moment. You may find that one interesting. Ive been to Hell and back with that car. It makes me want to cry at times

@@treetopspider I'm not in the market for a TR6 but loved the video on then MGB so much i will be watching that one. Dont change your style, thats what made it so enjoyable, normal bloke here as well looking to restore an MGB so this was a great tonic and quite inspiring - good lock with the TR6 and hope you got a good price for the roadster 😀

Wow! Takes me back to 50-60's when we picked up prewar motors for a few quid and keep them on the road before they went to the scrap yard. Only you are saving them for posterity, we were using them for road trips. But you had to get into and under to keep them going and no rubber gloves to keep your fingers clean. Wonderful to see your work on the MG giving it a new lease of life. Now back to my slate clocks.

Hi Spencer, thank you. Ive taken a little detour from my clockmaking for a while. I seem to have accumulated a collection of them and to be honest, I dont know what to do with them all. As you know, theyre not really worth much, it has been more of a pastime, like doing a jigsaw puzzle. I have always had a love for old cars and at least with these, I can get something back for my troubles 😄

@@treetopspider I know I'm at my wits end trying to sort it out. They never fetch much at auction after all the hours put in. Cars are a much better bet. You make a profit and move on. You are doing a great job. Good luck.

Young guy here who inherited an MGB Roadster. I'll start a UA-cam series on it. What is the name of the lower front bumper valance on this car?

    • @treetopspider
      @treetopspider  7 місяців тому

Hi and congratulations on your inheritance. Unfortunately, I'm not technical enough to know the names for all the parts for these cars. I would have just called it the lower front valance 😆
If you're in the UK, there's a website called; The MGB Hive. They sell absolutely everything for these cars, right down to the tiniest washers. It's worth having a browse through the site, where you'll find the names for anything you might need.
These cars are so easy to work on, you're going to have a lot of fun putting it back together.
I'll be subscribing to your channel once you have started it so make sure to let me know.

@treetopspider Thanks a million Johnny, really appreciate that advice. Your lower front valance looks sportier than mine, I like the sleek rounded look.
I'm amazed at how well these cars are supported for spares. I'm terrified to get under it and see the rust damage. Thanks for the subscribe. I'll be revisiting here alot in the coming year I suspect!

      Hi Artemus.
Its actually Southend Essex. Its a seaside resort famous for having the longest pier in the world at 1 mile long. Theres not an East Londoner who doesnt have fond memories of fish and chips followed by an ice cream down at the sea front. Its one of our national treasures😄
