New Zealand Camping at it's best - Kinloch

- Hey everyone, we are definitley in paradise this episode. Kinloch at the head waters of Lake Wakatipu in the Glenorchy area, what an incredible place to spend a week, exploring and soaking up some views.
we hiked to the Routeburn track and walked the nature loop as well as found our own swimming hole, southern lights and just all around beautiful scenery. A great place to take some time to unwind for sure.

Thanks team, Yep we are having a great time, we do have a lot of slow days not doing much in the caravan, but these kinds of places sure are our favourite.
Wow, you've really captured the beauty of the Glenorchy area so well! I want to go now! Am heading to Dunedin in the camper in Jan so am now tempted to travel that bit further and do all the stuff you guys have done. Hey Tom and Linda, we have had a good Christmas, lots of swimming at the beach, and eating yum food (way to much of it) Glad you all had a good Christmas with the family.
It does look awesome, some beautiful roads to drive! Those lupins are so beautiful, hopefully they don't eradicate them. Loved the underwater gopro shots. Weather events certainly makes it all interesting- Merry Christmas guys ❤

The scenery takes your breath away, so beautiful down there for sure. Being from the North Island and spending time traveling around the South Island how would you rate each island out of 10 as far as scenery goes?
This place was mind blowing, I'd be keen to check out this spot in Winter, as well as the Mavora lakes, be so cold, but beautiful.

yea it really is an amazing spot. I wonder if you get some nice clear days in winter, or if it's fogged in most of the time... could be pretty stunning seeing it covered in snow.

Wow, wow, wow. Yes, we've been to many of these spots but not Kinloch. We did stop for a photo on the Dart River bridge where the TV series "One Lane Bridge" was filmed. I'm looking forward to your Lake Pukaki stop (we've stayed there before) but it never gets old :)
Oh cool, yes we loved it at Pukaki def worth venturing further up the road to get the good views and peace and quiet. One lane bridge, I might need to look that show up. Merry Christmas.

Awwww thanks so much. the Music is from MUSICBED... which is a licensing page for youtube and other video places... it costs about $400 a year to have access to the songs, but you can search from their website for free, you just might have copyright issues if you try to use with out paying on UA-cam... Hey m8. Quick question if that's OK. You inspired me to get a drone 😊 what are good sources for rules? Seems like a lot of burocracy around this but not sure if that's enforced.
@@michaelzwiener1756 there are so many rules. I have a DJI mini 2 it has built in restrictions it won't take off if you're in a no fly area. I check signage when in an area if there are signs saying no drones then I don't fly. I pretty much only like to fly mine when we are the only people around.

do you ever get stuck with the caravan that you can't turn anywhere ?
no not yet luckily... I jump onto google maps if we are going somewhere a bit sketchy and check out the road, turning etc... The road into this spot, if we continued pass the camp ground there is no where to turn around until you reach the Greenstone station which is 12km away and 4 small river crossings, which would have been an interesting adventure with the caravan.
Yes we are so lucky to live in this magnificent country.Whern i waas a child ,i was told that my siblings and i were to inherit the south island by birthright of Whakapapa,of course that was stolen from us in 1991 when the then government gave the country to themselves via a lie called tahu.,still we are lucky tobe alive and live here.
We live in a beautiful country. Aotearoa is paradise, blessed to call this place home. Thanks for watching, Merry Christmas.
