It means “begin” in Japanese and the fact he said “begin” right after “hajime” probably means that’s an actual sensei who said the Japanese out of habit but then said the English as well since he remembered he was on tv. Maybe he has the Korean flag on his gi because he’s a Korean Karate sensei 🤷🏼♂️
@Milo Stringer yes, but karate is not the same now. its not practical for self defense, it was repurposed for demonstrations to a crowd for money. Okinawan people did in fact got kung fu from chinese, and they cut it down to the essential and effective self defense moves only, as it was needed in the time period with weapons banned and what not. the karate we have today, is not okinawan karate. Okinawa is its own independent nation under illegal occupation.
