I love the sisterhood of women who have grey hair. Being grey is freeing! Great video!
I'm so over hair color!! And since being isolated due to the virus, I haven't touched up roots for 4 months, and turning 66 this month, I thought "why not?" ... but also, "umm can I do this?" I came looking for motivation and courage and I believe I found it. Thank you ❤️
4 months for me, too!
My mom went completely gray at 73 in 2020. She completely cut it off short. I’m going gray now. 4 months in and holding strong.
Wow! Enjoy it!!
I’m 14 months In and am liberated by revealing my hair colour. My hair is more silky and my scalp is healthier - no more constant itch from hair dye. Men love it, I love it, friends love it. This is me and why on earth did it take me so long to feel authentic enough for this to happen. I’m in my early 60’s
Isn't it amazing when everyone love it?! It's like, what was I so afraid about??!!
Mrs P I have the same reaction. No more itchiness, and my hair feels so soft.
Everything you said here has happened to me! Never have I had so many compliments from strangers (men and women, young and old) or have people stop me in stores to ask me about it. And I will keep my hair long. Grey does not equal old and granny cut!
Oh no it doesn't Cassie! I love that you identified with all of these surprises - just goes to show how TRUE they are! Anyone reading this please know that! xo
Me too! Can’t believe it...
I also stopped coloring in February when the world shut down and never dreamed I would choose to stop dying my hair. I started dying at 40 and will be 65 soon. Listening to other women especially you younger girls talking about allowing the natural process to occur has given me a new outlook, a freeing sensation, and curiosity about what my final outcome will be.
Same! I’m going on three years now since I ditched the dye and am never going back! Your natural highlights are beautiful.
Inner work. This is my struggle right now. I want to let my sparkles shine, but I'm self-conscious and concerned about looking older, but you look amazing!
You can do it! xo
I have 3" of growth and I can't believe how beautiful it looks. I should have done this decades ago.
So happy for you! Keep going strong :)
Over a year now
@@nitzaechavarria8246 It is an inch from my shoulders and I still love it!
I just want to jump through my screen and give you such a big hug. You are stunning both inside and out. Thank you for being you.
Aww thank you! Thank you for watching too xx
Im 41 and I’m very early in my gray journey but what you’ve done here with your platform is closest to what I was considering doing…I’m a psychotherapist and it was my internal change that prompted the external change, and I wanted to explore my inner world while going through the external transformation. I don’t think I will now as it’s not right for me to be on social media, but I’m happy to know that you / this subject have touched and helped so many people. You are radiant, and you really shine
You look absolutely beautiful honey. I’ve just started my journey, well 4. Months into it. So lovely to see a young lady looking brilliant. Thank you xx
Hi Teresa! Best of luck on your grow out - you've got this! xo
I have your skin coloring!...63 yo and 12 weeks dye free!...so happy I found your channel tonight!... you have gave me so much encouragement!!!... I love your hair!.. you are a beautiful woman!... stay healthy and safe!.💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you so much Linda! Bring on all the pink!
I'm 67 and started going gray in January. Then, the lockdown started. Perfect timing. Lol. I'm now beginning my 6th month. I love my silver. It's coming in silver almost white. I'm very happy with it. I'm happy that we have support finally! Now is the time to go gray!
I'm really proud of you. What an amazing testimony. Thank you!
I love my gray hair. It really brings out your facial features. It doesn’t mean you are old. Some women go grey early. You have a young face and a young attitude about it which shines through.
Yes...you are right. Early grays runs in my family. I have been showing grays since my early 30s and even more so now and I'm 44. I havent dyed since the start of the pandemic and really was leaning towards dying it. Now, not so much.
I like the effect purple shampoo and conditioner has had on my hair . It's more of a steel grey now . Since going grey I think my hair is actually more interesting looking .
I'm going to be 56 in August and I've always looked young for my age. I'm 2 months into my no-dye journey and I'm so happy I started this process. I cannot wait to see the final result in 2-3 years. I love your channel and you are really motivating me to keep going. Thank you!
What an inspiring soul you are!,..loved every point you made. (The annoyingly loud music is absolutely not necessary, as it overpowers your voice!) But kudos to you, as you've definitely affirmed my decision to embrace my greys, as a 58 yr old recently turned grandma! 👌👏 thankyou and stay happy and blessed 🙏🙂
Thanks Bharti! xo
Loved this video. Inspiring. It’s unfair that men are told to embrace aging. But women are expected and pressured to cover the grays.
I completely agree.
Why is it that men can embrace going gray and women are pressured to cover their grays? Can someone tell me?
@@judithlamartinez8197 exactly right !
This is one of the best videos of all. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! xo
You are a natural speaker! Love watching your videos and how you inspire so many women to feel good about being in this important journey. Going gray RULES!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😉
Thank you! AGREED !! Haha thanks for watching xx
Wow, I so needed to hear this today. I'm 1 year in and I was almost ready to give up I felt so ugly just looking at my brunette hair with blonde high lights, and 5 inches of grey on top. It looks awful, but I feel I can do it now. Thank you for the encouragement!
you got this! xo
I'm where you were 2 years ago...thus is hard.. im going to cut my hair and see if that helps...but I'm not going to give up.
I bet you love your hair now!
@@olamcd3269 you can try wigs too while you’re in transition. That’s what I might do someday (I don’t have too many grays yet), plus wigs are just fun
I agree WE need support ...the 1st year is hard
also, cut a it to the chin and did a full highlight then toned it ash blond which turned it gray. . this took away my demarcation line! YES! my hair is gray and a goldish color. Can live with this while I totally transition.
I stopped dying last year cause I felt the same with the coloring process - I hated the dark, fake color the first week after coloring and only enjoyed the color for the next week or two. I am at the point where I can really see where this is going. Great video and thanks for the inspiration!
The last one made me tear up. I just sent a friend request on your Facebook page. I normally don’t like my hair but I’m loving how bright my grays are. Your hair is gorgeous and your face is lighting beautifully.
Thank you! Glad to hear you are feeling good about your hair. I hope you're enjoying the Facebook group too xx
I’m 5 months into being dye free. One of the most things I appreciated on this video was your talking about how your gray impacted your makeup and choice of color in your wardrobe. Women with blue eyes seem to rock gray hair easily. I’ve had struggled with the same thought as you. I’m prepared to do this but not at all sure if I’m going to like it. I’m in your camp with a warmer skin tone. Seeing how beautiful your hair looks is inspirational for me.
This is the most helpful and inspiring video on going grey that I’ve seen! I have been considering going grey for a year, and (after 3months in quarantine)have finally made an appointment to get a short cut to begin the process. Thank you for sharing your experience and insights!
I'm so glad it spoke to you. It's my TRUTH! xo
I cut the last of the dye off December 2019 and am never going back! I get way more hair compliement now than ever before. Loving my silvers!
I LOVE this video so much! Thank you for sharing your experience. The last 2 surprises you talked about made my heart light up. I'm just starting my journey (about 3" of grow-out) and I'm really excited. I smiled when you said "I have natural highlights" as that's exactly what I was thinking the other day - I've always wanted them, and artificially lightening my hair to get partial highlights has hardly ever resulted in the look I was going for. I not only love your color, but your cut/style is very chic and beautiful too. :)
Thank you! Enjoy your grow out! I'm so happy for you and I hope your natural gray brings you so much confidence and joy!
One month in, after a buzz cut. It’s been pretty brutal! Have felt rather lost. But I cannot WAIT to see what my hair looks like in 4 months.. six months.. a year’s time. Your videos are going to help me through the next few months while this awkward stage grows out!
Great video! The last surprise. ...the internal change is the main reason for me. I'm 52 and its my second attemot at going grey. Way way more committed and determined this time. Helps to watch videos like yours! Thanks! You are rocking it for sure. I will too!! ☺
Thank you for watching! Second (or even third or fourth) time's the charm! Let me know how it's going :)
I am excited for this journey! I started accepting myself in my late 20’s, but now going thru this transition has opened me up to these insecurities that I thought i made peace with....I can just imagine how much more powerful I will feel after this! Thank you for all these good points!
Girl I feel you. It took me about a year to get mine natural. Now I am free love it.
So glad you've had a positive experience Judie! xo, Lisa
Thank you for this inspiration! All of your surprises are resonating with me. I am 4 & 1/2 months into my grow out from brown hair, and I am loving it! Power to the sisters!
The same thing happened to me.... I get many compliments on my hair, too.
I love it. Your hair looks beautiful! xo, Lisa
It’s funny. We all know we are gray but we’re still coloring our hair. It’s a personal choice and when it’s time you will know it. And it will be fine
I applaud you for a powerful, honest video of self-love and being true to yourself. Beautiful and such an encouragement to all of us.
I started this going gray process before I found your channel. However, you give great inspiration! I am 5 months into the process, and have already gotten compliments on my "silver highlights"! I am encouraged and intend to complete this journey. Thank you for what you do, and for encouraging the rest of us!
I am 53 and I absolutely love everything about this video... thank you! I just added highlights recently and toned it a very ashy color to help grow out my gray which is also mostly on the top with the rest still dark. Working on keeping it healthy so it grows fast 😉😃
You look fabulous. I'm 50 and I let my natural waves and curls do their thing 9 months ago. It has been a journey and it has allowed me to accept myself internally. I have hated and tortured my hair for my entire life. I feel freed up by my curly girl journey. I am almost entirely white (not even grey). I couldn't keep the brown coloring going so I went blonde. It's so much work. Giving up the coloring is next. Not sure when I will but I look forward to that freedom. You're gorgeous.
For 47 yrs I have fought with my hair too 😮 decided to go grey and be natural
Fantastic that you feel more confident! The natural you is beautiful 💐✨
Thank you so much! xo, Lisa
This has been a lovely enlightening video to watch thank you so much. I'm thinking about it since Covid has kind of set me on a path. I'm resisting but so many people are encouraging me to go with it! So I am. So thank you for this support, it's encouraging. Great eloquent, informative personable piece. Thank you, from the UK x
That's a fantastic way to express how you feel and some of us feel as well. And yes ...your hair looks great! Thank you. Blessings.
Thanks so much for watching! xo, Lisa
Love, love, LOVE the color of your hair. Hoping that mine looks that great! 🤞
Thank you!
Exactly what I needed to hear. I've been going back and forth since the pandemic, 4 months in now with no color and I don't think I'll be going back. Good to have a little more encouragement.
Can't wait for the next two and a half years! You look great!
I absolute loved this video! So inspiring. You look beautiful, love how you have natural highlights, the sisterhood aspects, and you do look young! It’s fun learning about yourself, I agree. Yes, you inspired me almost a year ago!!!!! I watched a video of you and it was so inspiring. ❤️
Hi Doreen! I'm so happy we connected online - you've got this friend!
This Organic Girl ❤️
thank you..... im turning the big 50. i already wear my hair funky short. BUT NOW.... im going to ditch the box....i'm sick of the silver ring around my scalp every 5 days! I'm EXCITED!!!!!!
Love your authenticity! I'm 5 months in without color. ... thanks for your support. 💗
Yes! Stopping the hair dye runaround has been amazing! I love my silver streaks...I grow my own sparkle!
I'm actually feeling so excited about my (2nd) grey hair journey 😄I decided to embrace my natural grey for the second time just before lockdown here in the UK. The first time I caved in and dyed my hair after someone asked me if I had my bus pass with me! 😭 (it's a pass oap's get for free travel in the UK) I IMMEDIATELY regretted it but it's taken 2 years to gain the confidence to do it again. The great thing is that because of lockdown everyone is in the same position hair wise. We all have demarcation lines and wild hair! 💁😄 So, when I can actually get my hair done, my roots will be long enough to get ALL the blonde cut out. WIN! ❤️
You’ve convinced me to finally do it! Thank you soooo much. I’ve tried a few times but get about an inch out then can’t stand it. I’ve realized it does come within💖
YAY that's so exciting! I'd love to hear how it's going so far! xo
Stunning! I know so many women who stopped dyeing their hair during the pandemic, and they all look gorgeous. I bet you get just as many looks now as you did before ditching the hair dye, because it suits you perfectly!
I loved everything you said... I totally agree and can relate to everything...I'm 42 and I feel so much value in showing in my authentic and natural self 💜
Ok topic is great. But the music is much louder then the speaking parts.
Agreed. It's really jarring. I love everything you are saying though!
Yes, makes it so difficult to watch. I couldn't finish it.
Yes music is irritating.. U don't need it so loud.
#2 is exactly how I feel! Thank you for that!
So great!
I TOTALLY get your last point!! That love-hate 3-4 week cycle!!! & also that self-conscious thought: oh , they're looking at my ROOTS!!! Yuck!! Thank you for sharing!! You are truly lovely!!!
Wow, # 10 - so powerful. Well done!
I will be 60 this August I ditched the dye last July it was a tough journey of negative response from friends and family my husband is supporting me actually he stopped colouring his hair he has a head full of curly hair at 60 it silver and had lots of his black as well his combination is beautiful so this encourage came from him now I love my hair it is a bob cut growing it shoulder length it’s like platinum with black stripes it’s beautiful I love the hair is healthy as well it has built my confidence aging gracefully is a God’s gift and which we should embrace you look beautiful your hair looks so natural and I love your length loved your video
You look amazing! Thank you for sharing! I am right behind you!
Great insights!!! 🙌🏻 Going gray and natural is the best! 💚
Loved your list, especially #10 :) I'm almost 2.5 years into my transition and agree wholeheartedly with everything you said.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it xx
I’m 65 and dyed my hair for 50 years. I’m sick of coloring my hair. I bleached it out and it dried it sooo bad. I ended up cutting it off all over to about not even an inch left. (I don’t like me in short hair at ALL.) Can’t WAIT for it to grow. LOVE what’s coming in 😁
Thanks for the inspiration!
It actually looks like you’ve had it dyed that colour xx such a great colour
The beauty of natural! It's made "just for you".... : )
I really enjoyed this video and felt your emotion at the very end. You look great.
Thanks for watching Michele! xo, Lisa
This helped a lot!! I’m in month 3 and it’s hard! Showing people my truth. I’ve been quarantined so no one has really seen it.....but they’re about too! Thanks for the encouragement!
I cut mine in a pixie at 4 months. Best decision ever. It's since been long, short and long again. Hair grows! You got this!
You look fabulous!
I'm 64. I had dark brown hair with red highlights. I was so sick of coloring it. My hair is now salt and pepper. Your hair is very pretty! Don't worry about what others think of you. Keep your heart beautiful. IThat is what people will remember us by. Our beautiful hearts. ❤️😊
Your hair is beautiful. And thank you for posting products that are CGM, meaning no silicone and other chemicals.
This channel is a gem.
That is so nice! So glad you are here! xo, Lisa
You're such an inspiration!! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for watching Jocelyn! xo, Lisa
You are so beautiful in every way! Thank you for this I've just started my journey for me and to show my daughters that vthey have control over whatever they want to do xxxxx
Love, love love your hair!
Thank you Jenny!!
Loved this! Your hair is gorgeous. I love my salt -n-peppa hair. It truly is transforming I side and out.👩🏼🦳
I would have never believed how much of an internal transformation this truly is until I did it! xo, Lisa
I’m 64 and I am so sick of dying my hair! About 3 weeks ago I decided to shave my head. I didn’t want to go through the grow out process. It has been an adjustment because I’m bald but it’s growing back quickly. I’ll see what it looks like as it gets longer, but I’m so happy I did it.
There's def no one right way to gray. I love that you found your way and that it's off to a great start!
I have to go check out all your videos after this one!!!.. you are so honest!... thank you!!!
Hi Linda! I need to make more! I only have a couple but I love making them! xo, Lisa
This Organic Girl I really enjoy listening to you!... thank you!
I am going in it as well. Thank you for this show. Thank you
Thank you for watching Chiara! Good luck with your grow out!
Just watching your videos again! I love ❤️ my grey. It’s now grown down to a short Bob and I can’t Waite for it to grow a bit longer, BUT I will NEVER go back to dying it. Xxx 😘
Yay! So happy for you Teresa! Thanks for watching Xx
I'm currently going through the transition to gray so this video was perfect timing. I'm glad your channel came up in my feed, however, and I'm trying to put this across to not offend, I had to stop watching because the music in your intro and between each of the 10 things is jarring and hurt my ears a little. Your voice is soft and soothing then the music was quite a shock. I'm going to put the video on hold and try to come back to it because I enjoyed it otherwise. I hope you take this in to consideration and understand that I mean it with love. Thanks for sharing
I agree with Denise! Love your videos (This Organic Girl) but the music is jarring to say the least. Would love a little more soothing music. I understand that you are probably trying to add music that seems hip or youthful but it just doesn't go well with your videos. These are just constructive criticism comments - not meant to offend at all. My hair is starting to gray quite a bit. Didn't realize the extent of it until last year (not being able to have my hair highlighted and colored) due to COVID. However, I've decided to embrace my gray hair (my natural hair is dark brown). Love your videos (This Organic Girl) but I have to mute your videos every time you transition to a new point and usually have to turn off the videos because of the jarring music. I truly appreciate you posting videos and love your content. Thanks! :-)
Thanks for the inspiring video !
What an honest talk. Thank you.
Absolutely. xo, Lisa
I gave up doing roots and opted for an expensive brown powder to brush on my roots after doing this for 3 months I suddenly instantantly loved my regrowth but when out used the powder.
One day I tied it up high at the front and wow I couldn't stop looking at myself .
I have naturally long dark hair slightly longer than you and now two weeks since then I am proud showing my regrowth its so so cool.
I then decided to look on you tube to see if I should blend but after this video I am not going to blend .
I am obsessed now and can't wait for my hair to grow .
It is going to be so exciting
Other videos are great too however you are so sincere and don't call it A Journey.
I don't like it called a journey it makes it sound like an illness I have to battle.
You are a superb role model
I am 50 still very young looking but I want to enhance my looks by doing this and am absolutely not thinking I will look old ❤❤❤ as I continue with my upgrade. Xxx
Love this for you! Your hair sounds beautiful and I love that you a proudly rocking it.
Thank you! I am 44 and 4 moths without coloring, you cheer me up.
Happy 4 (six?) months! I hope you're enjoying it xx
I probably have about 3 inches of grey hair growth. This made me feel a little more reassurance because I’m always so terrified of others reactions especially people I haven’t seen in a while
I'm 43 and just finally put down the black dye, and went platinum silver. I'm in love with myself again and I get all sorts of compliments, so I totally identity.
I'm so happy for you! That confidence is beautiful! XO
Wow! I think you are amazing - such an inspiration!
Thank you! 😊
I am white grey and have been for the past 11 years. There is a certain kind of woman that has made mean comments
but most have asked how i did it, why and how long did it take. I am grey and i love the freedom. I say go for it. I think we are getting real about a lot of things after lockdown including what we truly are xx
Love your hair, you are extremely beautiful. Very confident
I totally relate and understand number 10!!!!!
#10 is where it's at! xo, Lisa
I love your hair! :). Great video
Thank you! xo, Lisa
I love yor hair to! I have been waiting for my hair to go gray for over 30 years. I wish it would hurry up.
Im 41 and I’m transitioning. loving what I’m seeing. I cut my hair very short because I couldn’t deal with the demarcation line. The hardest part for me is waiting for my hair to grow back. I love long hair and I can’t wait to see myself in the future.
A lightbulb went off for me with your last realization. I’m already all in for going grey, but wow..ok,so I have always loved my body (I don’t tell people that for fear of sounding vain, but I do), and I have always loved the texture wave etc of my hair, but I’ve hated my gray hair. Like as if it were an alien that attached itself to me and isn’t welcome and should go away and that I hurriedly cover up whenever I see too much of it again. But WOW.. I just know that soon I will also be loving my gray hair! I SO cannot wait! I am actually too eager for it, I want to look as good as you do right now! ..but I know it’s going to be a f of a long time to come lol. But I’ll hang in. I’m so over the resistant grays that show so soon after my dye job. And the too dark and unnatural color of my dyed hair against my forehead. So done. Can’t wait! I’m ready for all the comments, because I’m truly ready, so ready. But I was once that girl who said What will make me one day want to give up and not care about my looks anymore to decide to finally go gray? Hahaha!: it’s not giving up! It’s still VANITY! Lol. I think I will LOOK BETTER! Lol. Prettier, softer, COOLER,hipper! Hahaha. I’ll probably always keep my past-shoulder length hair tho ..Last bastion … THANK YOU for these videos. Been binging on them.
Love this for you!
I’ve wanted to go natural for 2 years but have been too scared to do it. The virus helped push me into it. No hair color for 5 months. Some days it’s painful to see the grow out line but I’m determined to do this. For me. Was coloring for 35 years. Your video is very inspirational. Thank you for the encouragement. God bless you.
I dreaded the day I would stop coloring my hair. I didn't want to look old in my profession. And then lockdown happened and everyone was forced to care for their hair themselves. I decided that this was my time...the best time to plunge in. I'm already loving what I am discovering about my hair and I'm not caring that the grow-out is still in the process. It is so interesting that everyone who goes natural discovers that their combo of gray and natural is unique. I love that. I have a twin who is completely white. I am a mix of white, very light and darker brown. I can't wait to see it when I have grown out the coloring. Everything you said here rings true. I've never felt more free or natural with my hair and I love that I don't really think about it during my day. I just live.
It's like taking off the hand cuffs. That is so interesting about your sister! Are you identical twin? If so that is so interesting to note that maybe going gray is influenced by what we eat and other environmental factors????
The twin is male! So we are not identical. He went white in his late twenties. You have me thinking about the environment and health habits now. I hope I am more white than gray. It looks like it is heading that way. I'll send you a picture when I find out.
45 yrs old and a year and a half in to going grey. Loooove it. So freeing! Looks better on me, too. Single mom by choice of two babies under 2. I loved your eyebrow video, too. I just use mascara on my eyebrows...and eye lashes.
Your hair is looking so nice! I’m almost one year in 😃
Thank you! You are getting so close to being done! xo, Lisa
Thank you so much!!! Especially for # 3 , yesterday I saw a post from a woman who said now that I’m totally grey the only con is men no longer pay attention, they do not look / flirt with me at all.
Every now and then we do like someone to say we or our hair looks nice etc..... Number 3 motivated me.
Again ty for your great videos.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) xo
I’m 7 months in at 76 years old and I appreciate your support. My husband hates it so it’s hard. My daughter doesn’t like it either so thank you for being there for me.
That is really difficult, Judy. You are in the hardest phase right now. It does get easier and better! Cheering you on!
We do look younger with our natural hair! It does soften you. I’m late 50’s and dying it starting to feel like I was trying to hard. The silver feels authentic.
Totally agree with your comment about trying too hard. I let my gray come in during these last 3 months (also have a pixie) -no more color and I LOVE it. I do feel it softens my face. I am embracing the real me.
It really does make us look younger!
Yep, me too... feeling like I’m trying too hard
God doesn’t play....natural....
Your pics started my journey
I'm glad you decided to go for it!
You are beautiful! Your personality and hair is awesome.
Thank you so much!
