I love my grey hair!! I grew mine out 6 years ago. I started going grey very early in my teens. I decided to grow it out before it was too noticeable so it would grey gradually as I got older. I had a stripe on one side at first. Now I've got full on salt and pepper at 30 years old. And just like you people think inpaid to have it coloured this way. I think its beautiful and better than any colour I've ever paid for. I honestly didn't have any fears because I don't care what people think about my physical appearance. I think that comes from having a sort of alternative/gothy style all my life ive been ridiculed for everything anyway and I had to overcome that struggle as young as like 12 to 13 years old. I do understand how hard that is, but... grey is gorgeous in my opinion and I love how it looks curled, when you can see all the colours mixed together through the curls. Its amazing not having any maintenence, I just shampoo, condition, put a little jojoba oil in andd let it air dry. If i want more curls I use rods or rollers. No heat ever and my greys are super soft, softer than my dark hair for sure.

I last colored my hair in February. I had a baby in April and between becoming a new mom and quarantine, I’ve found this is the perfect time to go gray. 👩🏼🦳✨
I, too, find this the perfect time (stay-at-home order) to go gray. My last visit to the salon was in February. May is here. I LOVE the gray. I know it's a long process, but now that I've taken the first step, I'm not going back. I like the brightness around my face! Thank you for this video.
I started going grey at 19 years old. I'm turning 34 on Monday and I have decided I'm sick if coloring it. I haven't colored it in two months and I actually don't hate it. It's almost completely grey on top. Not too sure about the rest. I'm thinking I'm going to go for it now. Your hair is really pretty.
Its been six weeks since I colored my hair. I use to have to touch up my roots every 2weeks. I'm so surprised how easy it was to just stop stressing over that gray line! Lol I cant wait to see more of my gray and how it will look! I was worried at first but now that I have decided 100% that I'm no longer coloring I'm so excited for this journey. ❤
Your hair looks fantastic, really beautiful! I'm much older than you, but thinking of going grey... finally after so many times of considering it. It will be interesting to see what my real hair color looks like after over 30 years of coloring it. I am over worrying over stupid roots and putting chemicals on it.
First, Let me say that you look quite stunning. The color of your hair is almost a brilliant silver, platinum. So, I'm sure many will assume cosmetically you have altered the color in some way. So, you are quite fortunate to have such an illustrious shade. Graying can be daunting for some. For some maybe there is a presumption that they will appear older than they are, not as youthful or vibrant, etc. I'm sure there are a number of reasons. But, as a man I find it visually pleasing: when I see women out and about with wonderful graying or silver tones; I have encountered some women who's hair is absolutely white in entirety and it looks absolutely beautiful. I myself have began the process of embracing the Silver Fox look. Just curious, what you ladies think when you see a distinguished Gent who may be slightly graying, salt and pepper look, or perhaps fully grey? To all women everywhere, feel confident and free to be who you are naturally. Your mate should appreciate and will appreciate you just the same. 🤗 Cheers from 🇬🇧
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. I have very thin, fine and naturally silver hair. I am 9 weeks into my no dye journey and I've got about an inch and a half of growth. My hair also hasn't been cut in that time, and it's usually very short. So once I get a haircut in about 3 weeks I should have mostly gray hair with maybe an inch or so of dark left over. I may have her cut it even shorter than normal just to get the dyed parts off. I'm so excited to finally have the chance to grow it out. Because I have been dying it dark for so many years I knew that growing it out was going to be a weird process and since I don't go anywhere at the moment, it's been the perfect opportunity!
@@CoolSustainable My Mom stopped dying her her about a decade ago, but she also had blonde hair so it wasn't so obvious. My sister stopped a few years ago but she had been dying it black so her line of demarcation was pretty bad. Because my hair is so short, and I'm stuck at home, I knew this was the absolute best time to try it out! My roots are very white, I'm so excited to get it cut and see what it looks like!
I'm only in for 4 months and I can't wait to see how it will turn out in the end. Since I always dyed my hair black, the difference between my natural hair and the dye is rather harsh. But I'm okay with it, however it takes sooooo much time... but I decided to go cold turkey and not to bleach my hair in order to embrace the whole "journey". I think I will be so happy and proud of myself once I'll reach my goal :-)
I think you will as well. It was one of the most rewarding vanity experiences I've had and now it is so easy! If you can power through this grow out phase, then you will really enjoy your "new" hair!
Jenny it sounds like you and I are at the same location on the road to going natural. I also have dark hair, and 4 months ago decided that the last time I coloured my hair would be the last time I coloured my hair....all over at least. I have an appointment next week and I plan on doing the same colour only with foils on parts of my hair. Then the next appointment after that do fewer foils, then continue with fewer and fewer until my hair is at a good length to cut into a long pixie cut. Wish me luck!
Have only listened so far to your first two reasons but boy they are great! I love the "nothing happened." Also like number #2 that confidence went way up; I think something like that is happening to me. Love that what you said about your hair, that it "just is." Feeling something like that too. Have just started, 2 1/2 months. Your hair highlights, or grey distribution, whatever one could call it is really beautiful. Looking so forward to seeing what mine does.
I agree: the poisons to me and the earth, the freedom from always feeling "embarrassed" or having to try to "hide" the new growth between dying it, and here, here for the awesome natural highlights! I'm almost 2 years in since the last time I dyed it. My hair is still pretty long though so I still have quite a bit of the dyed parts left on it. My hair gets super puffy if it gets too short and I don't care for the way that looks so I'm toughing out the rest of the transition by keeping more of it for longer.

Hi! I did not see this until now :( UA-cam though it was a spam comment - so weird... Anyway, I cut the hair short right away to make it look like it had less growths at the top.
My style is short and I have stopped coloring it, too. My hair is more salt and pepper. Hopefully it will become lighter down the road. I have been told by a coworker that I do look older now that my hair is grey!!! Oh, well!!!
@@CoolSustainable To me it does. As you get older you lose color, your lips thin, your brows may thin or turn gray etc. So when you let the hair go gray, you have even less color. But as I said, that is offset by the way the white hair just brightens you up. (and make up works wonders)
I think it is very positive when young women like you embrace their grey hair. Not only does it look very beautiful on you, women like you help to change the negative perception of grey hair. After all it is just another colour.
You do not look gorgeous.....YOU LOOK VERY, VERY, VERY GORGEOUS, CHARISMATIC, INTELLECTUAL, CHARMING AND VERY SOPHISTICATED.....the more natural women in the street the more self-confident, brave and strong women in the world!!!! I really enjoyed this video! I wish I had the desire to do this years ago. I started going grey very young and had been coloring my hair for over 40 years. The last 30 it was every 3 weeks! Finally last August I decided enough was enough. I had lost my precious mom in July and my priorities shifted. My hair was brown but lately I had been having it highlighted. Then I had it dyed to all brown and wasn’t happy with it. So I went to my hairdresser, who is so supportive, and had a full highlight with no root touch ups. Then in October we did it again. For some reason that time it came out orange!! I went back in for more work but it didn’t do much good. But I didn’t want to ruin my hair so I let it be for a while. Today I went back in and she bleached specific pieces and then put on a toner that really made a difference and thankfully it’s still soft. I’ve got about 5 months growth and it’s a beautiful shimmering white. With the added toner it’s blending much better! I am so pleased. And I had a cut too. My face is too full to go short but I feel I’m on my way! Finally! I feel free and don’t think I look any older. Bravo to you for doing this now. You look young and beautiful! Thanks for this inspirational video!!
I follow the hashtags such as grombre, silversisters, etc. I also recently made a video about Instagram accounts I follow for grey hair inspiration - check it out on my channel :)
I stopped coloring my hair.. I'm on my tenth month.. By the way im 59 years young hehehe.. I'm embracing the new version of me.. You look great with your grey hair.. Love it! ❤️🌞✌️😇😇😇😇😇😇😇☕
Do you have warm skin tone or cool? I find most of the women online rocking the gray have cool undertones. Their is very little inspiration from women who have warm skin and I’m having trouble finding advice on clothing and jewelry color choices with my orange-y undertones.
Woman at the Well hmmm I would say I’m a cool undertone person. However, I didn’t change anything I wear and it seems to work fine! They only thing I am more conscious of now is using bright lipstick- brings a lot of life and colour to the face.
I have warm skin tone and used to stick with warm colored clothing and jewelry. But now with silver hair I find I look better in cool toned clothing and jewelry, like blues, purples, cool toned reds and greens, gray/black/white, silver jewelry. Match it to your hair!
One thing happened when I went natural 8 years ago my hair is its normal color no dye and thats pretty much it? These journeys are silly. Its not a journey you stop and its over?
Yes! I am turning 34 on Saturday. I started this journey at nearly 32. I started to go grey in my early 20s. Keep going!!! Your stage is the toughest but it will be worth it!

I totally agree with you, I'm 3 years in and only now just short Bob silver shades totally, I was long shoulder black, I went cold Turkey with help using wow powder for early months, yes I don't miss the salons or worse DIY boxes, I'm still me, it is so freeing , great vid, love your earings
Karen Burgess thank you- they are thrifted :)
When did you go for a short bob? I’m one year in, went cold turkey also and I’ve longer than my shoulders brown at the bottom hair.
Oh, well!!!
Older is not bad either!
Some older women might look older when their hair goes gray (like me) but it brightens up their face and it looks better.
oh really? because of the colour?
@@CoolSustainable To me it does. As you get older you lose color, your lips thin, your brows may thin or turn gray etc. So when you let the hair go gray, you have even less color. But as I said, that is offset by the way the white hair just brightens you up. (and make up works wonders)
I think it is very positive when young women like you embrace their grey hair.
Not only does it look very beautiful on you, women like you help to change the negative perception of grey hair.
After all it is just another colour.
@@privatedeborah1004 Exactly :) Most people actually first assume that I dye it that way :)
Your hair is beautiful! xx
Thank you :)
I wanted to go gray . And I love it ❤
You do not look gorgeous.....YOU LOOK VERY, VERY, VERY GORGEOUS, CHARISMATIC, INTELLECTUAL, CHARMING AND VERY SOPHISTICATED.....the more natural women in the street the more self-confident, brave and strong women in the world!!!! Because letting grey hair grow stimulates hidden power in us, women....we let our natural beauty thrive..we do not hide ourselves (because of modern marketing, tradition or other people's perception). We are totally FREE from fulfilling others expectations, etc....Thank you for a lovely video!!!!
what a comment! wow- you made my day!
@@CoolSustainable I am at the beginning of my "going grey path"!!! I have tried twice but I've seen a lovely hair colour product in the store and I bought it again....offfff...I regreted later!!! I must start my journey again!!! You gave me a lot of motivation..THANK YOUUUUUU SOOO MUCH!!!!
Oh that sounds like it looks so pretty!! Thank you for watching :)
😊😊
Is it not poss to transition faster by stripping out the dyed colour and colouring it grey /silver ?
I tried that but it ruined my hair and the grey/silver never looked that great!
Just wondering if you need to change the colours that you wear if you go grey?
Yes, actually, watch this video I made talking just about this: ua-cam.com/video/F0HhqZpH8Zs/v-deo.html
I have to have those glasses! Where did you get them?

Yes but when it’s your husband telling you you’ll look 20 years older, and he’s really not on board it’s a harder thing to ignore

Thank you 🙏🏼
welcome :)
Woman at the Well hey :-) how about rose gold? Thats pretty neutral and both warm and cool undertones can benefit
Here's a warm skin tone grey hair channel for you - one of the BEST!

I have warm skin tone and used to stick with warm colored clothing and jewelry. But now with silver hair I find I look better in cool toned clothing and jewelry, like blues, purples, cool toned reds and greens, gray/black/white, silver jewelry. Match it to your hair!

Wow...beautiful
One thing happened when I went natural 8 years ago my hair is its normal color no dye and thats pretty much it? These journeys are silly. Its not a journey you stop and its over?
Can I ask how old you are, please?
I started growing out my greys (3 months now) and about 3inch in.... I need some motivation to continue 🤦🏻♀️🙏🏼
Yes! I am turning 34 on Saturday. I started this journey at nearly 32. I started to go grey in my early 20s. Keep going!!! Your stage is the toughest but it will be worth it!
@@CoolSustainable Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I feel humbled as I am about to turn 45... ouch! I started going grey in my early 20s and have been colouring since... just over 20 years...!
with Lock down and having to shelter (I am at risk group) kind of "forced me" into it, but I am not mad at it... maybe nature was telling me - it's time! big kisses!
