This is trailblazing work. It will help millions of girls and boys for many generations. I can say that 'period positive' was an alien concept for me until now. I know that the flow is clean until air and bacteria get to it, not at all an unclean thing but in fact some of every girl/woman's life force, given in hope of a child by the biology of us all. Periods will be taboo until men understand them as this man does.
Great job!! I think there should be even boy characters in the comic, so that even boys would read it and this would build up a better society by eradicating the taboo from minds of both the sex. .
Very good!Well done! Congratulations and wishing you success to make your dream come true to create awareness like this in many more things. But would like to share my thought that our ancestors and muslims who followed and are following certain restrictions are not fools and originally these were introduced from hygiene point of view since a particular radiation emitted from bodies of ladies during such time of menstrual periods are not good for good health of others, a lady's uterus and ovaries are very delicate and should not be subjected to heat from gas stove or other form of fire during that time and she needs little rest during that time. So let us try to keep these points also in mind since they are also equally important for our good health. Science & religion are interconnected and interdependent. All customs and traditions are not to be considered as bad. We must analyse scientifically and then decide.
Many societies have these restrictions usually to a lesser degree, particularly older groups. I was totally ignorant myself and got a bad fright when I had my first.
it's (m.c.) just hormonal change, as the body is trying to getting rid of it, in the past people linked it to other type of liquid or solid waste excretory product of body, this may be right or wrong-full or partial, - but not shameful- at all.
namaste! help me please! 1. how do i express automatic gunfire sound on paper in Sanskrit??? for example ta-ta-ta-ta-ta! or bra-ta-ta-ta-tat! 2. how do i express punch and kick sound in Sanskrit??? 3. how do i express glass brake or wooden things brake sound in Sanskrit??? धन्यवाद!! )
is it necessary to discus all these things ifront of people.?As a boy i am not interested to know this.its not necessary for me and all the male listeners sitting in that auditorium. But necessary for male doctors and the people associated with female health. ya its a good thing to create awareness in females. Why in Indian culture a lot of rules and restrictions are there ?Just ask to the seniors. There are a lot of scientific reason behind this. And how can you blame a mother that she is hiding these secrets from her son? tell me how can she explain about all these things, about her secret parts? how can a sister tell these things to her brother?
This is like any other piece of news or information, either you take it or you don't bother about it. Like for me, politics is not my cup of tea, so what I do is I ignore any such news that is irrelevant to me. This TEDx talk basically is highlighting that this couple took an initiative to spread the message. Because girls around India are still scared to admit it. Don't you think if the world(at least Indian society) was a little more open about this, girls wont feel ashamed. Aditi here herself says that she faced problems as a child. She realized it and took a step for those who are still back there in sitting in their houses ashamed. It is true that you might not be interested but it benefits more the half of the population. Not just girls but also their husbands, Fathers, etc need to know. You might think of it as a 'unnecessary for men' kind of an issue, its not just for male doctors. Your lady could anytime be in trouble, if she is ashamed to tell you about this, how will you be able to help her. And why should boys not know about it. If it is in the syllabi of young kids nowadays its not just for no reason. 'Scientifically' harmful effects of spreading awareness have not been proven yet.
why we became so open in the the name of awareness? Aditi is doing great thing..but why his boyfriend ? i appreciate this..but a female should discus about these topics with another female only ..not with boys.. ya with husband...but not with her brother. with sister but not with her father... for a female its awareness but for a man ? you know very well how boys are reacting when they hear the word "period''.like you cant discus about these things with me for creating awareness. ya its not possible for every indian girl to know about precaution during periods from the net.but its possible to create awareness in mothers n the elder sisters..husbands also but for a brother or a son ..is it necessary ????? its not argument..i am just asking.if i am wrong then definitely i will change my thinking..
Are you trying to say that a husband will never be a father. Or as soon as he becomes a father, the knowledge will get instantly erased. I mean that is bullshit if you still think so regressively yourself and expect the country to get out of the 'puraane khayalat'. Thats what we're all trying to get out of. It's not up to any of us to change your thinking. And frankly till now I haven't come across any guy who has a problem with period talk. They are pretty open about it because I am. We can do the least by individually not being embarrassed about it.
sharing these things with boys is good..but as a boy i know how boys react behind the girl..n how they talk about these topics...if you share your period problem with boys then can any of them can help you ?no.. n one thing i can see your frustration in your reply while you are talking about these topics..just i want to know the reason of sharing these things with a boy...
Are you one of the boys you have written about(who react differently behind the girl). Then I request you to not do that. That's what I wrote in my previous comment, the least you can do is change your own thinking and not react awkardly and not be embarrassed about it. Sir its time for you to introspect. Stop thinking 'log kya kahenge'.
