It's funny you say that cause I know I'm strong, I can bench 200kg but whilst for me that's impressive, it's important I have correct form and control and so I bench with 20kg and I use slow and controlled movements. People look at me like i'm weird cause I'm quite muscular yet I'm working out using Pussy ass lightweights, but i don't give a fuck what they think as I go to the gym to work my own body, they do what they want to do for their own body and I do me, besides like me a lot of those guys at my gym are quite big yet I see them making rookie mistakes such as using momentum to swing/bounce the weight and using weights that despite their size even they can't do those weights and so end up trembling, using bad form and unable to complete full sets.
@@brucewayne3069 , I use to be that kind of gym idiot. Much better now, even though I do less weights nowadays. Mostly calesthenic and a little weight lifting added all at home.
Why have i just landed on these videos this late in life ......dude you are a true master ...you have literally saved the world ....Time under tension has always been the secret to building muscle ...woow you have taught me everything I was looking for ....am subscribing ASAP ❤️🥊💥💥💥💥
Very useful muscle movements haven't even hit the gym but I'm excited to try them out. Have to say I've been making some mistakes according to this video thanks for the awesome footage
Thank you Obi for these guidence, we might complain for not getting into shapes we are looking for, but seemingly it's rest on how we do it. Thank you so much bro.
Bro you always bring us great content. Very humble, straight to the point with clear demonstration. Thanks very much and legs, chest and back will be helpful when possible.
That skull crusher tip is great! Thanks so much, my gym has no qualified personnel since it's part of a small hotel, so without you I'd have no idea what to do.
While I do agree with the strict form of dumbbell curls if it feels good to bring your shoulder up as you finish the curl then do it as the long head of the bicep is technically a shoulder flexor as it originates from the humerus
Hey Obi, first of all, thank you very much for your great videos. Since our gyms are open again, I've been training regularly. I have now watched some videos and this one particularly appeals to me. Unfortunately, I kept stretching my arms completely during some exercises instead of leaving them a little angled. My right forearm and elbow hurt for months. It's reasonably good today. Unfortunately, I watched a video of someone and they did it that way.
*I get time under tension but I've also heard that it's good when coming down on curls to flex the triceps which will inevitably straighten your arm to give the biceps a good stretch when curling.....any comment on this Obi?*
I was wondering the same. On one of my bicep exercises, I get my arms behind the body to get a full stretch on the bicep. I can't imagine this being a bad thing. On movements where your arms are in front of your body, I can imagine. What is your take on this Obi?
Hi, I’m a tricep junkie but since I’ve gotten older it hurts like hell to train them. What can I do to eliminate pain while training? Sorry if you answered a similar question already.
I heard that hammer curls are good for elbow health, so I don't think that they are the cause of your problem, maybe the way you bench, do push ups or dips. Warm up your elbow joints before and after training aswell when you wake up or go to sleep.
@@haoszeraphim8969 thnx man I will, I always do full-body so I train different muscle groups in one day. I did some dips, chest press, biceps preacher curls and I felt pain in my elbow, it's a few days that I didn't train because of that but I still can feel it while moving my arm or touch my elbow. Don't know what's wrong. Last exercise I did was Tricep dumbbell extension on the floor and I couldn't even push my dumbbell. Now I'm going to try tomorrow and train chest, shoulders and triceps. I changed my routine did some research, going to do decline triceps extension on a bench instead on laying on the floor. Maybe it helps? I also feel pain doing hammer curls because of that elbow pain. I don't feel pain doing regular Bicep curls.
@@ngonidzashekimbini7177 yeah I did rest almost two weeks and the pain is gone, I already did legs and chest. No pain so far. I'm going to use light weight with biceps.
On the DB bicep curls you should go all the way down and flex your triceps at the bottom, to get a stretch on the biceps. You shouldn’t rest at the bottom at all but should definitely go all the way down as then you are taking the biceps through their full range of motion. Also on the Close grip bench it is beneficial to lockout the elbows at the top to get the peak contraction and once again take them through the full range of motion. Also locking them out will not lead to injury at all. Yes you will lose some tension on the muscle with these tips, but you are strengthening the muscles throughout the whole range of motion. It’s way harder to go all the way down on Bicep Curls, flex your triceps and come back up immediately, rather than just pumping it out in the strongest part of the exercise.
I Like the fact that you don't talk too much. You just straight to the point. Im the first one to view....South Africa approves😎
Nothing but good info from a humble guy. The fact that he looks the way he does yet he's that humble is almost a paradox. Thanks Obi
Check your ego at the door is the key, I see too many people getting hurt trying to impress the gym. Great video!
Amen to that.

Or bodybuilding splits you would recommend
Do you do anything specific for brachialis development?
Brachialis responds well to slow negatives, I personally do hammer curls, rope hammer curls and overhand barbell curls for my brachialis

Bro im doing 8*8*6*6 reps of barbell curl, dumbell curl, preacher curl and reverse curl my biceps arent growing what should i do
Stop lifting n try music
Those full bis. Well done well done
Are you from England?
I dont agree with not locking your elbows on curls...by doing that you get full lenghtening of the biceps
Ok Big man
I experimented with both forms of this exercise. Fully extending with relatively lighter load; while not with a relatively heavier load works for me.
