Imagine being 13 years old and hearing this song for the first time at a record store meet and greet without having a clue who you were going to see? I'll forever be grateful for the friend that dragged me with him but I'm 53 years old and I ain't been the same since...🤘 and I mean that in the best way possible.
I’m only 25 but I’ve always considered the “hair metal” bands to be hard rock, not metal. I typically don’t like what I’d consider to be metal music because it’s too hard on my ears, but I know that a lot of people consider a lot of bands I listen to all the time to be metal even though I don’t.
Fun Fact: In the line, "My head's spinnin' round and round, but in the seasons of wither, we'll stand and deliver," "Round and Round" and "Seasons of Wither" are references to Aerosmith songs. -This Song Was In 2 Music Rhythm games Including Guitar Hero 2 And Guitar Hero Smash Hits.
Just subscribed to you guys today and y’all are absolutely fantastic 🤟I’ve met Motley Crue and Alice Cooper in 2014 when Alice opened for the Crue on their final tour and it was fabulous 😳😳🤟 keep it up Smokey and Hollywood ❤️
Halloween Hair Metal: you want Dokken, they did the theme for "Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors", and also have an instrumental called "Mr. Scary".
same brother! I transferred elementary schools from 4th to 5th grade and the first thing most of the boys asked is, do you like heavy metal? I was like, like which bands and these dudes had Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue and Ozzy on cassette and played that shit on boom boxes during recess. I got swept right into the realm of metal ever since.
No Wigs? Motley Crue is THE hair metal band. The most popular and longest lasting one too. I've seen them in concert half a dozen times. Saw them when they were at their best and when they were not doing so hot. Incredible concerts every time though. Their first two albums were dark before they ushered in glam for real. Check out some other songs from this album. God Bless the Children of the Beast is another short intro song leading into their version of, The Beatles, Helter Skelter. Too Young to Fall in Love is a great video to see what they looked like at this time, leather and chains mostly.
You gotta remember, this was very early Motley Crue where they were wearing spikes, had flaming pentagrams and evil stuff going on before they got super glam. They were more heavy metal then with only a hint of glam. Before their ballads like Home Sweet Home and all that. Nikki Sixx even lit his legs on fire on stage! lol. Read his book The Heroin Diaries, it is a psychotic yet very entertaining and fast read the way it's written. You won't want to put the book down lol !
YES me as a 17 yr old Hi Skool junior Newton County 1983 with long hair & a '78 Ttop Z28! I had this album cover poster on my wall {with KISS, Zepplin etc} that I got from Turtle's records & tapes in Conyers & my 1st Baptist Church of Covington going parents hated it mostly because I became an Atheist in 1979 much to my parents chagrin! I used to say the 1st part word for word to my stepdad...lol! I actually had a St Bernard 1975-1983 {Ben}! This whole album was a banger & yall should just go thru it all & the 1st album is even better✌💖☮
Of the Hair Metal bands, Motley Crue had a darker, more dirty style. They were one of the pioneers of having dudes that looked like ladies, but they weren't quite as poppy as most hair metal bands. This was from their second album, so if anything, they started out heavier and lightened it a bit over the years.
They have so many good songs, here's a list of songs you haven't done yet Primal Scream Looks That Kill Wild Side Too Young To Fall In Love Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) Afraid Saints Of Los Angeles Without You Hooligan's Holiday from the only album they made without Vince Neil on vocals, it was a solid album, very heavy with John Corabi on vocals/guitar Misunderstood, also from the same album Keep up the good work guys!! Cheers from Montreal, Canada
First heard Motley Crue on a weekly rock chart radio show back in the 90s called the syndicated Z-Rock 50. Thier Home Sweet Home and Primal Scream songs were in the top 50 chart at that time. Went out and bought their 'Decade of Decadence: 81-91' album on CD a few days later. Rock n Roll Junkie was probably my favourite, but Shout at the Devil is a slam dunk tune too 🤘
Mötley Crüe founder, bassist, lyricist Nikki Sixx was dabbling in the occult. The song was supposed to be Shout With The Devil. Some freaky paranormal stuff began to happen and it was changed to Shout At The Devil.
……for those of us who know, it has to be said….. “In The Beginning” In the beginning Good always overpowered the evils Of all man’s sins But in time The nation’s grew weak And our cities fell to slums While evil stood strong In the dusts of hell Lurked the blackest of hate For he whom they feared Awaits you Now, many, many life times later Lay, destroyed, beaten down Only corpses of rebels Ashes of dreams And bloodstained streets It has been written that Those who have the youth have the future So come now children of the beast Be strong And “Shout At The Devil” ……it just had to be said 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼 …..saw this tour backing OZZY 1983 ❤️
The world tour for this album was,i think, they're very 1st.They opened for Ozzy. Then may have opened for KISS to,When it came to partying hard Ozzy was their mentor. After this tour "Home Sweet Home" from Theater of Pain was based on this tour.Needless to say they were ready to come home
I was 9-10 years old when I first heard this, when it was brand new. Kinda scared me. This album and Too Fast For Love (their 1st two) are their best albums, by far. Not a weak track on either. I think they became glam on Theatre of Pain, their 3rd album (with Home Sweet Home). They shed their dark, evil imagery for the pink and the spandex. Other bands followed shortly thereafter. Nikki Sixx in a mid 80s interview, in the middle of the satanic panic: "We're not saying shout with the devil, we're saying shout at the devil."
I consider myself a great listener, I let them say what they need to, to get it out and to feel better. Without judgement on my part. I will give any feedback or my opinion only if asked too ❤
Yeah I'm the same way. That's why I always tell anyone that they are welcome to hit me up anytime because I love to try to help people get through whatever they need to and anything said stays between me and them unless I'm told or asked to do otherwise. Too old (and never cared for) high school dramatics. 💙🙏🏼👊🏼
Motley Crue wasn't hair metal until their 3rd album, Theatre of Pain. That's when they started wearing spandex and had teased hair. This era of Crue, they were more leather/punk metal. Their second album,Shout at the Devil was pretty intense, their debut, Too Fast For Love was really raw. All the 'fans' nowadays always listen too Dr Feelgood tracks, but that's the album when real Crue fans stopped listening to them. 90's Crue were irrelevant.
I always interpreted this one as... we all have our demons that we battle. Stand up to them. Don't let them beat you. Fight them like a street fighter. Nikki Sixx even made a comment, long ago, pointing out that he was saying Shout AT the Devil... not to him. Not for him. Not with him. AT him.
I remember the parents having a field day with this song😂I remember telling them "HAVE YOU LISTENED TO WHAT HE IS SAYING??? What a bunch of dumbass' 😂😂😂😂
I got my mom to buy this album for me when I was 13 years old. I had convince her that they were saying shout “at” the devil, not “with” the devil. The next morning she was cleaning and read the lyrics from the inside sleeve that I had left out. She waited until I woke up, when my friends came by to go outside, and proceeded to flip out, yelling at me for bringing that trash and satanic crap in the house. She then, in front of all of my friends, threw the album in microwave and melted it. A week later, I bought it on cassette.
Saw them once. My neighbour had free tix. Anthrax was supposed to be there, didn't make it. Would've missed 'em anyway, we arrived late. 😕 Liked 'Dr. Feelgood'. Nikki Sixx spends as much time fist-pumping and riding an open string(E) as he does playing fretted notes. Nice gig. 😅🎉🕸️🎃
Hello fellas, keeping up with the Halloween season, you guys should react to a RUSH song titled WITCH HUNT. The song is from the 80's but its message is relevant today with the upcoming election coming soon. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Guarantee it.
Not a MC fan particularly, but the nost famous songs aren't the best; the best was used in an Italian horror film called Demons or something: It's called Save our Souls. Same for Kiss. Mostly bad, radio music-but for the song War Machine.
Heavy ass album recorded under the influence of Jack Daniels and coke. This is why every song is so heavy and raw
So were all the fans! lolo
This was totally their best era 🖤
For sure........this and Too Fast For Love
I used to jam this on my sony walkman on cassette. I miss the 80's!!!!!!!
Me too
Best decade for music and mpv

A good listeners anybody who can sit here and listen to you guys talk for 5 minutes waiting to get to the video and still hang through
This whole album rocked!! I was 16 yrs old and it blew my mind!! I was a very rebellious child. Lol 🤘
This is and has BEEN MY FAVORITE "CRUE" album since high school in the 80's

In my day they were considered hard rock. That's a genre that isn't really talked about today but it was one of the early subdivisions of Rock
Do "Live Wire"
My fave Crue song
Knock'em Dead Kid, 10 Seconds Of Love, Piece Of Your Action, Starry Eyes
That’s the best!
and Louder Than Hell and Red Hot

I love “Dream Warriors” so much, lol. It’s so much cheesy fun, both the song on its own and the music video where Freddy’s afraid of Dokken.
I’m 50. I discovered this album in the 5th grade. This is the album that got me into everything metal.
same brother! I transferred elementary schools from 4th to 5th grade and the first thing most of the boys asked is, do you like heavy metal? Loved this album. Motley in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, where great in concert. 80s the best. High as hell at the concerts and women everywhere.
Was walking around when I was 11 playing this on a tape recorder. The best MC album ever in my opinion. And in '83 this shit was heavy metal!!

Wow I haven’t heard this in years! The entire album was great!
Hollywood rocking the VENOM shirt
Try AT WAR WITH SATAN
True Banger

anything by king diamond would be Halloween music!!

Wasp also was in the same scenario
They have so many good songs, here's a list of songs you haven't done yet
Primal Scream
Looks That Kill
Wild Side
Too Young To Fall In Love
Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
Afraid
Saints Of Los Angeles
Without You
Hooligan's Holiday from the only album they made without Vince Neil on vocals, it was a solid album, very heavy with John Corabi on vocals/guitar
Misunderstood, also from the same album
Keep up the good work guys!! Cheers from Montreal, Canada
This album was LITERALLY the beginning of hair/glam metal.
Wouldn’t that be Van Halen’s first album?
This was their best Album after this album they got too GLAM.................. next song knock em Dead kid
Yeah they lost me after this.
Tommy Lee & Nikki Sixx were a great rhythm section. This song is a prime example.
Happy Halloween family.

There was a band called GWAR that I believe was along the lines of what you are referring to when it comes to "spooky" stuff.
GWAR actually got nominated for a Grammy for their video Phallus In Wonderland. They are still touring. Will be here in Raleigh on 11-10.
@@donjackson5522they’ll be here in Columbus for Sonic Temple too
@@robdurfee6861 🤘I'm so glad he is among us. I'm so glad he is a fungus!

Looks that kill , Too Young For Love and Live Wire are all before the glam metal look.
The 90's industrial version of this song hits
I was 15 years old in the 10th grade when this album Shout at the Devil came out
Saw them in Philly open for Ozzy on the Bark at the Moon/ Shout at the Devil tour. Back when they were good😂
Whole album is great.
……for those of us who know, it has to be said…..
“In The Beginning”
In the beginning
Good always overpowered the evils Of all man’s sins
But in time
The nation’s grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hate
For he whom they feared
Awaits you
Now, many, many life times later
Lay, destroyed, beaten down
Only corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And bloodstained streets
It has been written that
Those who have the youth have the future
So come now children of the beast
Be strong
And “Shout At The Devil”
……it just had to be said
🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

this was my favorite record when I was 6! I'm 45 now!
You want Holloween vibe!!!...Rob Zombie!!!...nuff said.
Eyes in my early twenties in this album was a hit
Not a big Motley fan but I do love this one. Looove the tshirts. Happy Halloween 🎃😈

You guys gotta do the song " Halloween " from the 80 's metal band Helloween. The album version is over 13 minutes but well worth it!🎉
I consider myself a great listener, I let them say what they need to, to get it out and to feel better. Without judgement on my part. I will give any feedback or my opinion only if asked too ❤

My favorite and their best album for me, you should react to Too Young To Fall In Love and Looks That Kill from this album.
first album i bought for myself when i was 11
I love old school Crüe! Their new stuff is garbage though
Saints of los Angeles was good, but everything since pretty much sucks.
How bout the theme song to "House of 1000 corpes".
this is the second best Motley Crue song, but even this song can't hold candle to "Livewire"
Motley Crue wasn't hair metal until their 3rd album, Theatre of Pain. That's when they started wearing spandex and had teased hair.

Best album of theirs, they had an edge on this one. The glam fad toned them down a bit.
You want Stormtroopers of Death - Freddy Krueger.
For this track, Shout at the Devil, ... note the use of the word AT and not With...
I don't know the reports about the song it just sounded different then I'm used to it sounding
AT him.
Ghost face killa the champ I know you guys would definitely like that one believe me like this comment if u heard of it

Someone tell them that's the video
I see you’re rocking the Venom T-shirt. Now you need to rock your show with some Venom.
Black Metal!!!!
This was their second album
Thank god you did the classic original 84 version and not that crappy 90s remake they did.
Read the Dirt excellent book
Can you react to bound to the floor by local h
I remember the parents having a field day with this song😂I remember telling them "HAVE YOU LISTENED TO WHAT HE IS SAYING??? What a bunch of dumbass' 😂😂😂😂
The original name of the song was shout with the devil. Then Nikki Sixx saw some haunting things and changed the name to shout at the devil
I don't necessarily think of them as hair metal but W.A.S.P. would have been a good choice for Halloween/Hair Metal.
I got my mom to buy this album for me when I was 13 years old. I had convince her that they were saying shout “at” the devil, not “with” the devil. Love you guys to check out Dirt Miller singing Kansas City. Would fit your taste I think.
Not a huge Crue fan..However...I am a big time fan of Mick Mars guitar work
I think Mick would be the only one with a goth vibe...he even looked Klingon there for a bit...
Check out the 1997version of shout at the devil
There defense to this song was “ It’s called shout AT the devil not shout with the devil” Nikki Sixx.
When people said they were satanic, they said it's Shout AT the Devil, not Shout WITH the Devil
But it was originally Shout WITH the Devil. They only changed WITH to AT because their rep, Tom Zutaut, insisted they change it.
This version seems slower
Not hair Metal but do Satans Fall by Mercyful Fate.
Love that one, but “Into the Coven” from the same album is my favorite Mercyful Fate song.
By far my favorite Fate tune. I saw a double bill with King Diamond/ Mercyful Fate in Philly years ago. What a great time!
When you were Shouting at the Devil, We were In League With Satan
Guess you forgot about the MJ Video I asked about! LOL
This is a metal album. Not "goth metal", not "hair metal"...... heavy metal. Period.
They became "hair metal" on their next album
Try some WASP. Darker side of "hair metal"🤘🎸🤘
The Band Halloween

Halloween👻
Alice Cooper- Billion Dollar Babies (73)(No 80's Alice Please)
This was Motley Crue's last album that was arguably heavy metal. The next album was pure hard rock sellout stuff and they never got their balls back.
🤘😝🤘
you should react to more off "Shout out the Devil" album. "Knock em dead kid" is absolutely amazing.
W.A.S.P.
Alice Cooper
Rob Zombie
Type O Negative

Can you please listen to Art of Shredding by Pantera!!
Guitar Hero 2
I think it’s against think it’s against not for 👻
the faster version they released is alot better ...
