Ok here some feedback to what you said about "everyone had some experience with supernatural stuff".
Our brain is an interpretation machine that works on pattern recognition. It filters out a ton of things on the one side and adds a lot on the other. You can trigger and expose that with a lot of things like we all know when it comes to optical illusions. So a 100 years ago that all was very "supernatural" and now we know better. For decades you can easily win 1 million dollars of you prove some supernatural stuff to a certain committee. So Sori go ahead and get rich please. Let something levitate there the one mill is still out there you can look it up. Also how come "evil" can be demonstrated that easily (just get some people in a room and a Ouija board) and you can't demonstrate good or God in any similar way? It's almost as if that is more real than the other thing in your stories. To be honest if I see shit levitate I worship those forces more likely than someone you pray to and still get the same 50:50 chance like you had before. Why? Because one thing seems to be able to manifest itself into reality and the other thing doesn't.
Here is my main issue with you guys when it comes to that topic. If you pray for something and it happens the way you hoped it's so awesome, you memorize the story and tell it over and over again. Must be evidence that God and some angels work for you right? But if not, when children die of cancer get shot or pushed in front of trains etc. it's just "well Jesus gets possessive sometimes". Really? That's just attributing some supernatural forces to randomness. The outcome is exactly the same! You can cancel Jesus and demons out and up with exactly the same reality. It’s exactly the same reality like 10.000 years ago before all that Abrahamic tralala! What you perform here is like a showcase for selective perception. You want it to be true therefore you only remember the cases that confirm and support your believe system. Also saying God helped you because he loves you is outrageous to all the ones who get randomly mauled, killed, raped and killed, tortured and killed or just painfully starve to death for no reason a daily basis. Why because it implies God didn't give a shit about them or at least not as much as he did for you right? They didn't pray hard enough, huh?.
To me "the devil made me do it" is the same shit as "god works in mysterious ways". Putting your trust into something that produces total random outcome but denying that the outcomes is actually random, denying the true nature of it is just being in denial of reality. Perfectly good people die horrible deaths while monstrous evil people reach the age of 100 and living a happy life. There is no pattern. If you go in the wilderness and you are not prepared you will get mauled by a bear. Nature has no concept of morality but we had to project our fear of death and randomness over the whole universe and come up with some meaning and reason behind it all because otherwise we can't deal with reality. Well that weakness and dependency is up on those people NOT on the universe. The universe doesn't care. Not even the bear does. And don’t tell me the bear isn’t conscious. He is and would have any right to interpret the universe from his perspective. Like maybe dolphins would tell us their concept of everything is within the water. But you know what. It doesn’t matter. The earth will burn up and our sun will explode like trillions did before and trillions will after it. Why should there be a deeper meaning? Because we struggle emotionally if there isn’t because it doesn’t makes us feel “good” enough and feels a little sad? Because we need it to make "more sense"?
What a selfish desperate needy way to inflate yourself over the universe just because you deny accepting everything else. Leaving your genes in form of your children isn’t enough oh no you need to be on “God’s side” after that. Yeah, that seems more appropriate and totally not self-inflated.
I really hope we'll meet some superior aliens at some point who call us out on our egotistical bullshit and just show us how ridiculous our projections on the universe really are. I'm human I have intentions and emotions therefore everything must have. Yeah nothing wrong with that AT ALL, nothing to worry about at all there.
Personal story
I experiences sleep paralysis. At the time I didn't know that that is even a thing so it is scary as hell and feels pretty demonic. Until I learned what it is and how it works and why it can happen. Poof, no demons. Sorry. Call of the exorcist.

...and I believe that human kind is still pretty primitive, not far away from the first "wise man" actually. We're still trying to explain the world using our materialistic terms... and every single time we're sure about that new, brilliant explanation. Methods are still the same as they were in ancient times. What's different is the set of tools. So yeah, I believe we're chasing our tails trying to explain the world. By definition we are unable to understand God so I say let's stop trying. It's pathetic... As you said, it doesn't matter. The earth will burn up and our sun will explode... Putting it simply, "...all we are is dust in the wind...". So let's just be kind to each other, love our neighbours and stop assuming we know anything for sure. It's all 50:50...
@@sarakaster nothing, its just obvious you have it.
The 80's was the pinnacle of heavy metal and rock, ignoring it simply because of the way people looked is a huge mistake.
Personally I think they looked badass. Better than face tats and diamond chains if you ask me 🤷🏻♂️
Absolutely. Elite level music! Bold. Uncompromising. Not whiny. Rough. Sinply the best era ever for metal and hard rock. Ever.
This isn’t proper metal. It’s different by alot
I totally agree, so what if they were good looking.
@@rockandrollfan470 why isn't it? The whole album from beginning to end seems pretty Heavy Metal to me.
James Hetfield: “One time we saw some hookers, but when we got closer, we realized it was Motley Crue.”

This song has nothing to do with The Devil. "The Devil" in this song is authority. Basically this song is an anthem and is telling you to stand up for yourself.
Plus the cover alone was totally buying into the 'Satanic Panic' that was running rampant back in those days, too.
Satan is authority. Literally it's in the bible. 40 days in the desert It tells how Satan is the root of power for all the kingdoms on the earth
Funny how the police wear pentagrams over their hearts
Yes that's what this song is about
Theres not really a lot of people talking about the true meaning good on you for pointing it out

I am 52 years old. I retired last summer as a touring metal drummer. I've seen it all pretty much. 25 years ago, in the middle of a drug overdose, I cried out to Jesus to save me. He undeniably did. Anyone can try to deny until they are in the presents of Holiness. The heart cannot deny an ambush by our Savior. I still play heavy stuff cuz that's my life's work but Jesus comes 1st. I only love Him because He loved me 1st. And for that, my life belongs to Him.
do you think it is bad to listen to heavy metal/ hard rock whole also believing that Jesus died on the cross for you?
Motley Crue Wild Side is a fun video.
Best live one that's for sure

Motley's first two albums are amazing
Motley Crüe - Red Hot
slayerfern Agree
Agreed
To me red hot is an amazing song but their other songs are so good it make it look like they weren't trying
Thank you! I don't think any albums that followed the first two where even worth a listen.
Agreed, those first 2 Motley Crue récords are unbelievable
Hate to break it to your friend, Vin.... but the horns were used in Romania to either cast or ward against the 'Evil Eye'..... Metal stole the symbol MANY years after it was first used....
But who was the first, do we get into a gene Simmons vs Dio!
Yes ronnie james grandmother did the symbol(came from the old country) and yes she did it to ward off evil.so he followed suit.
Ronnie did it cus Ozzy would do the peace sign and he wanted something like that to do with his hands because he didn't do it until he joined sabbath
Dio's grandma called it the "Maloyk", protection from the Evil Eye.
Regardless who did or didn't do it first in the metal community..... The horns are not so much a sign of the devil as a superstition....
Warrant-Uncle Tom's Cabin.
This song is one of the most under rated songs of time. You will love it.
Even if you don't react to it at least listen to it once in your lifetime you won't regret it.
Dr feel good or kick start my heart should be next.
excuse me? how can you forget wild side?
Kicking ass on the wild side 🤘🏽

Live Wire
@@wingedassassin9999 yeah... Wild Side and Kick Start My Heart are my favorites. They'd need to know the backstory behind Kick Start My Heart ;)

Good stuff!!
You should now review "The Dirt" on Netflix.
lmao dude
Would love to see their reaction to the opening backstage scene lol
Most definitely watch the dirt on Netflix! Love me some Nikki Sixx!
Wild Side, Kickstart My Heart, Home Sweat Home, Looks That Kill, Livewire
Agree, but I'd add "Afraid" too.
Yes!!
Dio was known for popularzing the sign for the horns in heavy metal. he claimed his italian grandmother used it to ward off the evil eye( malocchio).
My grandmother did the same thing
My introduction into metal/hard rock. Been my all time favorite band since. 35 years later. There's so many good songs to choose from.
Love the guitar riffs of mötley crue
Mick was such a monster on guitar.🤘🏻
Mick Mara is probably one of the most underated guitarists in the last 30 years. He's fekkin amazing
Its not DEVIL HORNS , DIO said his grandmother used to do it to keep EVIL spirits away.
People made it evil
Thank you!! This guy knows^^
Good fan-made video. Motley just used the pentagram to shock parents and shit. First 3 Motley albums were great and Dr. Feelgood was cool.
Nikki sixx was dabbling in it back in the late 7o's very early 80's
I grew up on Crue! But the John Corabi's album was one of my favorites next to dr Feelgood, girls, and shout at the 🤘
When this song came out my mother told me she forbid me to listen to them God rest her soul... From that point on I became a huge metal head.... lesson to be learned parents want your kids to listen to a certain music tell em they can't
God bless you❤
Mötley Crüe was great back in the day. Primal Scream is a great song by them.
Might be my fav from them.
craig matthews totally agree. My favorite.
Love it!!
17:11 - "...but I'm also not going to put myself in a situation where, you know, I open myself up to that stuff.." - cue unexplained light anomaly floating across the frame from right to left.
love how he said he thought they just dress up and sing ballads, when back then if you messed around with motley crue they’d probably fuck you up 😂
Best Mötley Crüe record. 2nd is the debut and Dr. Feelgood at third place. The rest is skipable. Next song should be Livewire or Kickstart My Heart
Theater of Pain is not skip-able. It's way more listenable than their debut.
Girls girls girls is fun
Pee Wee Wallabowski Debut is best, and each subsequent album gets progressively worse.
@@jinzoslegions I think Theatre Of Pain is very underrated. The five tracks of the vinyl b-side are badass!
@@ricknesar1627 Hell yeah
Try "Wild Side" by motley. Sixx wrote in his book that he had his Aunt to send a copy of the Lord's prayer and he flipped it and made a mockery of it in this song. Not being evil. Just being malicious. Same deal with "You're All I Need." Sixx wrote a killer ass ballad and sent the demo to an ex. She thought it was the sweetest thing til she heard it. It was about a bad relationship ending in murder told from the perpetrator's point of view. Her reaction was legendary 😂
Great review guys. I requested this month's ago and am so happy you liked it. They are very underated man. So many good songs.
Wildside is my favourite.
I'm a Christian!!!!!!!! Shout at the devil is a good song!! It is not satist !! It says " shout at the devil " not with the devil!!! It means to shout at anything evil and not positive!!
This song is about standing up for yourself
Motley Crue requests.....Too Young To Fall In Love, You're All I Need, Looks That Kill, Livewire, Kickstart My Heart, Dr. Feelgood.
@2:07 where Nikki Sixx is holding up the album in an interview he saying "its shout AT the devil, not WITH the devil" as he's pointing at the title lol
didn't you guys listen to "Too Fast for Love" a while back? or might of been someone else
That whole album "Shout at the devil" is the epitome of what traditional Heavy Metal is all about.
Vocals in this song are crazy hard, and almost impossible to reproduce alive.
My dad had this on vinyl when I was a kid and I remember seeing the record cover with the pentagram, I thought ‘oh shit, is my dad satanic? Maybe I should do what he says or he might kill me’ 🤣

One of them went beyond. Nikki has a story you may not know beyond just the music.
Just because a band is good looking doesn't mean they ain't good.
On to a different subject,
I remember going to Metal shows in the 80's & sometimes there would be a religious group of 25 or so standing in front of the entrance. They were handing out pamphlets and asking concert goers not to go in, this would usually take place at the larger venues mostly.
Anyone else see that orb on the wall @ 17:17 when Vin talking about the devil?
👀 ✝️
Time to break out the sage
Yeah i think they had premarital sex and now devils out to get them
That was the first tape I ever bought! I was 5 thanks Mom and Dad for being cool!
I first heard this song at the age of 12 back in 83 the opening track of this song blew my mind. This whole album was heavy as F!!! Been a fan ever since. They've slightly changed their sound through out the years , but was still a great band.
I first heard this album when I was 10. I was captivated by their image and In The Beginning was so evil sounding. Been a fan ever since and listening to this always takes me back to that time. This is their best album IMO.
....Be Strong! Laugh, and...Shout! Shout! Shout! Shout at the devil!
Favorite band from my youth, and favorite song.
I’d like to see Vince Neil pull off wearing that same outfit today.
Just want to hear about, not see it.
You're gross
If like to hear him sing this song, but he really can't anymore. All the songs, really.
@@shelbyseelbach9568 I saw them opening for OZZY's Bark at the Moon tour...they kicked ass...but TODAY...only a fool would pay money to see them...Vince literally mumbles a few words illegibly and holds the mic out to the crowd for the rest...embarrassing.
i feel like nikki could still pull off everything he did back then lmao
I missed the Crüe on this tour but my high school girlfriend was a huge fan and I took her to see them on their next 3 tours, she even insisted on naming our son Nikki after Nikki Sixx.
I'm a power/thrash/death metal fan but Mötley Crüe was one of the few glam metal bands I actually liked. Dokken and Skid Row were pretty good too.
Skid Row was only good because of Sebastian. Hell of a voice with his range. If not for him I don't think they would have been as good
80s outfits are the best!
So the history of this song is that it was lyrically called "Shout With The Devil" but the band saw weird things happen when they performed this song that way around three times and decided to change the lyrics.
The whole of the song is for the devil, but they changed one word to save themselves the trouble that one Satanist, Nikki Sixx, in their band was bringing to them. Nikki Sixx did not leave Satanism due to these experiences of phenomenon. Only later did this person change enough to not backstab their band members.
Motley Crue got classified as "hair metal" but most of their music was much heavier than the typical hair band.
Motley crue - dancing on glass
83 the year I graduated high school. I blasted that in my camaro with a 100 watt amp. Whole is heavy. They had an album before this called "Too Fast for Love" it was more a demo album but just as hard.
OUIJA is "Yes" in 2 languages. French "Oui" and Deutsche "Ja". Having said that, I have never Toyed with one. My mom tells me of an experience with a group of friends where the Oracle kept sliding off the board and table and landing on the hardwood floor with a thud, not a bounce. After the third time of this occurrence, one of her friends walked out of the house and all the way home (with no memory of doing so), another who was bilingual briefly forgot how to speak anything other than Italian and these were enough to scare my mom enough she boxed the board back up and never opened it again.
we listened to this album on a hand held cassette player every day after school in 4th or 5th grade
B Well Us too! It was a great time!
You guys need to react to Mötley Crues Dancing on glass it's a criminally underrated song.
Thank you for listening to the whole song without stopping it 20 times as other people who review bands do. They make a 4 and a 1/2 minute song last 23 minutes by stopping every 20 seconds to comment on that particular Song. At least you guys listen to the whole song and you don't interrupt the flow of the song so you understand a lot better. Thank you for doing that do not stop songs that is so annoying and you do not do that so thank you. Now listen to live wire by Motley Crue
🤣(🤘Texas style)
The "horns" sign is actually a ward against the Evil Eye in magick. Satan has just the one little horn, so two big horns isn't about that at all. If you sense that evil is watching you, you pray and then use that like a shield.
The Hebrew letter aleph means strength and is originally an ox, which has horns. The God-name "El" is spelled aleph lamed, which means strong leader. This means the rock horns are supposed to be like a crucifix as far as defense against evil and seeking guidance from God.
@@The_Kiosk its called the Maloik.............Ronnie James Dio was known for popularizing the sign of the horns in heavy metal. He claimed his Italian grandmother used it to ward off the evil eye (which is known in Southern Italy as malocchio). Dio began using the sign soon after joining the metal band Black Sabbath in 1979.
One of the best songs writers ever ...and the ability to make it look controversial...but if you read the lyrics...it's totally opposite of "worshipping"the devil ...it was genius...
I feel sorry for people today that can rarely experience the stadium concerts. Nothing compares.
You nailed it. They took alot of shot for this song. And it's against the devil.
So much more to this band ...many awesome songs awesome movie ..the dirt ...!!I've been a fan for many years ..several great album's..good song writing.

And the US Festival.
Nikki Sixx really lit his legs on fire in that video There were no special effects, they couldn't afford special safety gear, they simply had the eye of the tiger and wanted to be stars. How many other bands were willing to light themselves on fire to get noticed?

Moonspell - Night Eternal
Motley Crue had the 80s glam image but musically they were rooted in some pretty solid metal.
Oh man....their Live shows are absolutely EPIC!
They got that move you like is a KISS move
They were not a typical glam band. They were the epitome of debauchery!
I' ve been told first hand...bunch of guys during a nighshift in a store where nothing was happening started to toy around...it was effectively put in to halt when a box that was firmly situated on the shelf, moved forward and crashed on the floor.
Guys - if you want to hear a kick ass Motley Crue song, do Red Hot. It's off the Shout at the Devil album. Double bass rocks throughout the song.
Summer of 1994 woods of Rockport Maine. Saw a black spirit . Sober and another person saw it too. Then we got in a car and we felt it again.
LOL the metal horns \m/ were brought into popularity in the metal community by Ronnie James Dio.. his grandmother, I believe it was, used to use it as a superstitious symbol to ward off 'the evil eye.' It is definitely NOT anything dedicated to devil worship.. if anything it is against devil worship.
Also.. in regards to Motley Crue's style of music.. this was the version of the band that I enjoyed the most. This harder style more rock-metal hybrid than the later era of ballads and more touchy-feely music more suited to the female fans. They redeemed themselves a bit, however, in later albums.. returning to a more rock-metal style before pretty much fading away after the grunge era killed hair metal.
Peace
Awesome! This includes "In The Beginning" intro!
Motley Crüe is not satanic in any way. Their leader and writer Nikki Sixx said that “the devil” is whatever is holding you back from doing what you want
iron maiden, judas priest, black sabbath, led zepplin, ac/d, van halen, and motley crue paved the way brothers and sisters. you need to watch a priest concert from back in the day they had a good show too. bout time this happened lol. sori give a listen to "too young to fall in love" same album

Awww MAN ! 1978 to 1986 was an F*%&ING AWESOME era for Metal ! !
Say what ya will about Mötley Crüe being derided as a "hair metal" or "glam metal" act, but those boys rocked and for real too ! This brought back soooo many memories ! And I'm happy that the selection you chose wasn't their live version from the US Festival, because that woulda gave you the impression "Shout At The Devil" was sh*t. Also, the prelude to "Shout", "In the Beginning" was a nice touch, whoever uploaded this vid. Well done.
And for more great Crüe, I'd suggest "Too Young to Fall In Love", "Home Sweet Home", "Same Ol' Situation", "Afraid", DEFINITELY "Kickstart MY Heart", "Wild Side" and "Looks That Kill". Like I say, these boys were legit rockers !
This song is definitely against the devil but because it’s rock n roll people refuse to believe that it can be they see devil in the title and probably read it as shout with the devil or sum
Dude the Crue WAS the band of the 80's. I attended 2 of their shows in Dallas where I'm from and they ROCKED!!! The name of the song y'all did is also the title of the album which is superb, like which album wasn't. I laughed when you mentioned my Longhorns so here ya go bro #Hookem 🤘

That hand sign, the so called sign of devil was pioneered in metal by Ronnie James Dio, he started doing that at his concerts and he said it was something he said came from his grandma (who was from Italy) who use to do that to him when he was misbehaving as a kid.
The "moving together" that Vince and Nikki were doing was listed directly from KISS

Motley and Quiet Riot blew heavy metal open mainstream in 83.
about what u say, my best friend in my teens was a member of the pentacostal church. i invited myself to a meeting about the evils of rock music. they mentionen backward messages (wich is so silly), but there was one woman who stood up and said, she had been at an iron maiden show. and before the show started the singer came out and said they couldn't start the show because there was a christian in the audience. after she left they could start. that pretty much formed my view of religious people, they will lie for God...
