I grew up in a ranching area and we depended on each other so we would often have the neighbor for dinner and vise versa. Her unique type of cooking was outstanding and she had a heart bigger than the state!!!

Why wouldn't you cook your sausage, remove it from the pan, and then add your veggies? That way you're infusing your veggies with the sausage flavor. After that, I'd remove the veggies and cook my potatoes in the same pan...once again...you get the flavor of what you've already cooked in the pot. You're layering your flavors that way and you're only using one pan to cook everything.
