H/H match update: ... We're up to week 116 of our favorite classic game show (these episodes originally aired in late October and early November 1975), and our stalwart regulars Charles, Richard, and Brett are joined by semi-regular Patti in the sixth seat. Patti appeared a total of 42 weeks total (putting her #7 on the list of most-frequent MG celebs) She made her debut in episode 81 back in 1973, and her final week will be shows 1436-1440 in 1979. So far, she's 1 for 2 in the H/H match. Scoey Mitchell is back for his fifth week (out of 12 total). He hasn't yet been selected for the H/H match. Rounding out the panel is Patty Duke Astin, back for her third week (out of 14 total). She was selected once, but didn't match. (I guess this week's episodes are a little like a Big Mac, because as Gene put it, we've never had two patties before! If that's the case, then who would be the cheese in this week's panel...?) And now, let's sit back, enjoy, and see which celebs get a shot at the head-to-head match this week! (I'm rooting for Patti to get another shot at it!) ...And the week starts off with a new champion, who takes Brett's suggestion for the audience match, but like about 80% of all contestants, he chooses Richard for the head-to-head. Today's question: "______ Tent" Another one that sounds pretty easy. Pup tent. Nothing else really springs to mind. Richard hesitated only a second, then wrote what appeared to be a very short response. The contestant blurted out "Pup Tent" almost before Gene finished the question, and the audience cheered wildly. ...and Richard earns his 125th H/H match. Quick recap: Richard has played 24 of the past 30 H/H matches, and matched 11 of them. Brett has played 3 of the past 30, matching 1. Of the three remaining attempts, Fannie matched one, Betty missed one, and Sheldon missed one. Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Fannie - 52.6% (10 wins in 19 attempts). Betty - 46.9% (15 wins in 32 attempts). Charles - 45.2% (19 wins in 42 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 39.4% (125 wins in 317 attempts). Brett - 38.0% (19 wins in 50 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 576, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

Screw the jerks. Match Game videos are highly addictive. I'm old enough to remember watching the show in the 70s, and it was the best game show on tv back then. It's probably the only game show on youtube now.
@@joeambrose3260 , Joe, I did say probably, which means I could be wrong., and apparently I am. Since posting that comment I have seen other shows in passing, but Match Game is the best of all of them.

@@joeambrose3260 < I think it's been a year and a half. I will say that watching anything on UA-cam can be addicting, and almost always more entertaining than television.
I felt so bad for Monica. The language barrier really kept her from understanding the questions. And on top of that, they weren’t very understanding. Poor lady. Lol
I'm sure she got very self-conscious when they started mimicking her accident. Cultural differences defeated her. You are correct. Dancing bear was a perfect answer in her culture.
Well, yesterday (episode 575 I mean) Gene did allow (and encourage) her to change her answer for the audience match, something he didn't normally do, so it'd be hard to say they didn't give her any breaks at all.
I couldn't believe that with the CIA/candy gram question the celebrities didn't get the definitive answer. Obviously it was "bugged". John was smart he figured it out. And not one of the stars "got" it. Thought at least Charles or Richard would have said it.
I have no recollection of Scoey Mitchell. Wikipedia called him an actor and director. I do wish he would smile more. Not sure why he was playing the stoic.
Gene doesn't like when they poke fun at his accents. I thought part of the appeal was that they weren't that great. But Gene seems to think he's legit nailing it.
It would be really nice if Gene Rayburn could speak English throughout the show, but that is a big wish that can’t and won’t be fulfilled because it is the foreign minister named Gene Rayburn.🤬👎😩🤡😫🤮🥵😡

One of the best TV game shows EVER!
Well said.
I can't believe no one made the joke on the Colonel Sanders question; "Pardon me, would you like flies with that?"
I love, love Patty's hair! You know the contestant got the a match when Richard takes his time showing his answer:D
Which one?
I liked Patty Duke's hair doo on this episode.
Richard once dragged it out and didn't match and someone said "A grand build-up to utter disappointment"

I think the new mics are the ones in front of the celebrities. They're Sony ECM-53FPs, which I found 2 of them on eBay and won.
Gene's mic is an ECM-51. I used to have one.
