Johnny Jacobs, the off-camera announcer on "The Dating Game" and most other Chuck Barris shows, played a television host on a 1965 episode of "The Munsters."
Yes. Johnny Jacobs had an extensive radio and television background and was a superb announcer. Besides Chuck Barris and Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball, Jacobs worked with Steve Allen, Jack Barry, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Ernie Kovacs, Groucho Marx, and Betty White, among others. He died at 65 in 1982.
When I was a kid, one of the families I hung with, their mother, divorced, was a bar cocktail waitress and trying to get her kids into film. She had her girl friend over and it was butch Patrick’s mother. They made a big deal out of butch being at their house. So we all went over to meet him, a snob is what he was. His mother was questionable too, we all figured out how he got the part. 😂
This clearly shows how much clothes and hairstyles had changed in the years between how Butch looked on "The Munsters" and how he looked in 1972. And no, I don't mean the extreme Eddie Munster make-up and costumes in the 1960s, but how boys and young men went from short hair to very long hair. And his hair here looks the same as mine did at the same time.
In case anyone wonders why the commercials seem more modern than 1972, and there are even website addresses, it's because this is a recording of the Game Show Network in the late 1990s, which showed classic episodes of game shows back then.
Commercial lady Corinne Bohrer (former "Free Spirit" also on ABC 1989 - 1990 & "Police Academy 4" (1987) actress) in the Windex commercial at the 23:17 mark.

Omg! Met. Butch when my friend and I were cruising the Hermosa beach one summer evening. He tried to hook up with us, but was kinda arrogant so we gave him a bogus address for a party we were going to. Met him again decades later when my brother introduced us…he was his friend. I was married by then, and much wiser🤷♀️💕
I remember playing the dating game with my sister and our friends. The boys would stand on the other side of a wall and we would ask them questions. 😂 I think I was 8 and my sister was 12.
I wish that UA-cam hadn't deleted the October 31, 1972 Halloween episode segment of the Dating Game which featured Vincent Price picking a date for actress Janit Baldwin. I didn't see any copyright violations in that segment, so why was the uploader's account terminated by UA-cam? Now I want that segment back on UA-cam so I can watch it again anytime I want.
I would have chosen number 3. She was the cutest of the contestants. In the second part I would have chosen number 3. He’s the best looking of the three. I liked his attitude as well.
Although , he was giving the choice some deep thought, I just knew Butch (aka Bitch 😂) would pick #1, he just had to pick her! Giving them the trip to ski at Big Bear was the perfect set up…I bet they had a good time. Hope his date had good fortune in her adult life. Butch just turned 70 this last August and has been sober for 10 years after surviving addiction and cancer to boot! He did not marry until 2016. He found himself a fine lass, Leila Murray. Murray is a good Gaelic-Scottish surname. I hope they are enjoying life together!
They were so beautiful and just acting themselves. Thanks for the black pantyhose that women don’t wear now to show their tattoos. Better looking women in the 60s, 70s and 80s. What happened?
The contestants were all fantastic, but I thought Jim Lange made this show. He was a radio announcer in the San Francisco and LA areas and they tapped him to host the show. He had that radio DJ quick wit, and was perfect for a show like this! Plus, he had such a commanding voice.
I was seventeen in March 1972. I would turn eightteen two months later on May 30, 1972 that same day I would graduate from highschool. This brings back so many memories and sadness. Time is a fleeting thing and is lost so fast as we live our lives. I am an old man now but the memories of those years bright and clear in my mind. I was a flower ready to bloom that year, today I am wethering away with the passing of time.

Hairstyles and clothes were so much better than they were in the 80s. (Except for the one chick with strange high flip in her hair.) Weird though, because in the 80s, they looked 20 years older, but in the 70s, they looked at least 10 years younger… especially that girl with the ribbon in her hair. She looks like she’s 12!
