The fact that they have this video and share it with us should be enough. To complain about order and other minute things shows you to be small people!!! Just enjoy and say thank you to the people who made it possible for you too watch this!!!
Jack Cassidy was being an ass toward Richard Dawson; I kept waiting for him to get up and walk out but he was very gracious, going as far as to mock himself. Pure class. RIP Richard Dawson; Match Game was never the same when he left.
Thot this must have been a Friday show...the 5th taped in one day, after a dinner and some consumption of adult beverages after dinner, ...and sure enuf, googling the Episode Guide, it was!
I hope that he didn't suffer too much, what a horrible thing to happen to him!!!!! He asked Shirley Jones to have dinner with him earlier, at a restaurant, but she couldn't make it for some reason. He fell a sleep on the couch with a lit cigarette, but was found by the door....it's so sad to hear such a tragic thing!!
I heard he and Shirley were already split by that time, and a girlfriend of his was interviewed as saying she felt a strange feeling going out to dinner with him that night, so she said he should go back to his apartment and sober up. Next thing, he falls asleep on his couch, cigarette in hand. They said he was found somewhere near the front door burned beyond recognition.
Adam Klugman was actually just shy of 12, (born in July 1963, and this was taped in June 1975.) Brett did talk about him a lot; she was obviously very proud of him and attached to him. He was her youngest and a late-in-life baby, born when she was 39. He had a mini acting career as Oscar Madison's son on The Odd Couple. Jack was really rough on Richard during this episode, although to be fair, Richard was dishing it back and MOST of the time you can tell Jack is ribbing himself. Richard was getting under his skin, subtly mocking Jack's pseudo-British accent by doing his own, which--having been born in England--Richard did much better. Richard was a real sport throughout this episode (and this week), mocking his own bad answers repeatedly, for example at 13:04.
Jack Cassidy was deep into mental instability by the summer of 1975, and it shows, to some extent, in this episode. He and his wife Shirley Jones were divorced, and he and his son, David Cassidy, were on non-speaking terms, and he had spent time in the hospital being treated for bipolar disorder.
I've always wondered why the celebrities always had trouble realizing that if you match in the first round, you don't write in the second, supposedly since it's lit up in their little podium, "DON'T WRITE". I've always wanted to see what that looked like. Seems Charles had trouble with that a lot, hence this episode.
Do you have Episodes 506, 507, and 508? If you do, can you please post those as well? What a CRAZY opening. What the heck are they doing to Gene Rayburn? lol
Wowza...seems like a couple of mean drunks on the panel. Jack just kept on riding Richard and Conny...when you look closely she's rolling her eyes or sneering quite a lot...in addition to her just plain ol' blatant meanness.
That isn't fair.....since Charles answered (correctly) when he shouldn't have (he was supposed to sit this question out),they should have taken a point away from her,and done a tiebreaker question....
Charles was supposed to sit the question out,and didn't,and got the question right, giving the other player an extra point they shouldn't have gotten, and no the score was not correct...
Foolishpleazure But they didn't actually give her the point. She had one point going in and she ended up with the correct total at the end of the round.
Foolishpleazure She had 1 point going in to second round. In second round she matched all 6. The score board would have to have 7 lights. Only 5 of the 2nd round matches counted. Hence she ended up with 6 points.
People need to stop picking on people they know nothing about. He had his days as we all do, when we are full of pride about ourselves. But in reality, he was full of love for other people
Jack is excellent on the "Columbo" series, especially as the magician in "Now You See Him". A man to soon gone.
I love him in all his Columbo villain roles. A tragic loss.
Jacks answers were clever! RIP Jack and David💔
Always cool to see Jack Cassidy. This was definitely a post-break episode!
The fact that they have this video and share it with us should be enough. To complain about order and other minute things shows you to be small people!!! Just enjoy and say thank you to the people who made it possible for you too watch this!!!
Thanks for posting! I like the slower pace of these older game shows! Hilarious to see Gene and the gang here!!
Great episode. Jack was the best columbo villain.
Sad. Jack Cassidy never retired. He died in a condo fire.
A year later. Very sad.
You're burnt
@@3John-Bishop You're
In the opening, when we see Jack Cassidy, I thought that he was flipping us off. But it was actually his pointer finger.
Richard wants people to win so much. You could see how disappointed he was when his answer didn't match the contestant.
As I enjoy many of the Match Game reruns, I can't help but notice that most contestants choose Richard to match their answers.
Conny sure was rude this time to the contestants. She must have had a lot to drink. And Jacks jealousy of Richard was out front all the time.
Richard Dawson was actually in a play Jack wrote. It's all in good fun.
Jack Cassidy was being an ass toward Richard Dawson; I kept waiting for him to get up and walk out but he was very gracious, going as far as to mock himself. Pure class. RIP Richard Dawson; Match Game was never the same when he left.
I don't think so.
If you watch the Behind thew scenes show, the only one who liked Richard, was Richard. And he liked himself very much. Great player though.
It was all in jest . They worked together. Jack was directing Richard in a play in Toronto that year. They were colleagues :)
@@SuperC888 ahh...good to know!
So instead of yelling at Jack Cassidy, he yelled at the audience, way to go Dawson
18:59 " Slide it Earl ".
First time I can remember Gene saying it under the 100 dollar response.
Unfortunately, Jack didn't live long enough to retire.:(
Jack died tragically like David did. Very sad!
2:00- 2:20 LOL!!! LOVE Charles Nelson Reilly!
I know Jack Cassidy was a bi polar drunk but they all look drunk here LOL
Gene and Richard definitely didn't drink. I doubt that Betty or Charles drank much if they drank at all.
Thot this must have been a Friday show...the 5th taped in one day, after a dinner and some consumption of adult beverages after dinner, ...and sure enuf, googling the Episode Guide, it was!
Jack Cassidy and Richard Dawson looking refined, Charles Nelson Reilly looking fruity as usual.
I just found out that Friday is,,,,,'a cannibal'.
Classic game shows like these take me back to my time as a little boy but I love family feud with Steve Harvey no doubt
Ikr.... I love Steve's blank facial stare when someone says an answer that's outrageous. He cracks me up every time😆
Gene is so great and easy going in that madhouse!
Considering that the place is a zoo at times, you could almost call him an animal tamer. AMIRITE?
...
...
sorry.
Jack Cassidy reminds me of Stacy Keach.
They had a similar appearance, I agree.
Watching these makes me feel like that kid from the sixth sense.
Surprised no one took issue with "my birthday" "your birthday". That match ultimately decided the game.
I don't think Richard knew about Jack's upcoming play .
They announced it in the open.
@@ts.elliot5870The play never happened under Cassidy.
terrible death for jack cassidy

Yep....house fire.....was drunk, lit a cigarette, fell asleep and that was that
Why is everybody's glasses on upside down?
Jack Cassidy was a arrogant drunk!! he burned to death by being drunk & having a lit cigarette. A awful death.
Jack Cassidy was originally offered the role of Ted Baxter on MTM .
He did wind up playing the brother.
had to be after the lunch break
Rip!
What a tragic death.
Adam is 43 years old, and she still talks about name tags on clothes!
Like the Jack Cassidy question.
Didn't like him mocking Richard.

Never saw Gene without a smile- wow!!
@2:00...poor Brett, just had to insert herself into the spotlight, talking about nothing!
She is so cute
In the bonus guestion of blank nick, Richard answers beat. However, I believe it's spelled beatnik.
Right you are Sher!
and Gene even spelled it out NICK

JACK IS DAVID'S DAD
Brett's comment about the 'fabulous imitation' was actually funny!
Beatnik is what I thought of, as well. Then Sputnik. So it depends how one is expected to spell it.
this was when the show was a lot more fun
Great show
Jack Cassidy, never really thought Jack was British, always thought he was American, but yeah such a cool dude.
He was American. Born in New York City
I don't think the girl Nikki knows the story of Robinson Caruso.
Exactly That’s what I was thinking Friday was his man servant - not the day of the week
Prop her up and I thought hoist her up. ha!
By the way, Jay...yes that Connie wasn't very nice, indeed. Lover of herself.
zimjun7 yeah - whatabitch!
Cocky!
Ugh
Why doesn't it surprise me to learn Charles had a cockatoo lol
He did I looked it up this is what It says he died from a apartment fire

20:20-The "Trench Hand" panel
that guy bill was pissed and almost cried

isn't it S_y_dney, Australia ?
Jack Cassidy passed away on Dec 12 1976.
+Crispin Cain Yep in a bad smoking accident he basically burned himself to death
He was on the couch, but found by the door. Hopefully the smoke overtook him, and he didn't feel any pain.
Jack Cassidy is pretty cool and a decent game player, but he was an absolute JERK to Richard in this one!
i wish you could post shows in order. I wanted to see 506, 507, but skipped to 508. Why is that?
Paul T Maybe he didn't and still doesn't have them
Gene Rayburn is frank nitty. lol
rip almost everybody there
always one RIP Downer in the crowd....

:P :P :P it's true. all of them are dead by now.
hi ultimate. - not Betty White😊💗💞💕💓
@@jmason3904 Unfortunately she is now in 2022
Yes to Richard Dawson he was cool back then.
I believe I posted 508. It should be here.
This episode marked the last time Match Game would use the "ghostly" white Chromakey lettering at the closing credits.
That lunch was served every day on the set.HA HA!
I'm surprised that on the Friday question, nobody said "the main course"
They’re not cannibals
Cassidy's 'still life' comment: sad.
Those bright lights
A liquid lunch? Haha!
jack farted at 11:23 !
columbo's dr moriarty!
Who farted at 11:22?
I thought Gene was awfully mean to Nikki Layman, the female contestant. I wonder why he was so.
he was rude to many contestants
Epic wide shot of set zoom into the two-shot from 2:37
What in the world were they on??!

The clothes were so bad and ugly and what are they doing? Those drugs must have been good.
It was the 70s! lol
so inconsistent and unfair and all the double entendres sexual perhaps in nature ? Oh the good old days !
Who's the bitter drunken blonde?
your mom
Conny Van Dyke

Well it's not here.
Jack had more talent than the whole panel, hopefully Jack got the Blonde
I guess I never seen her much.
Is Conny drunk?
This would have been the last episode recorded that day, so it's probable they were ALL drunk!
Anthony Hobson
Except, Richard didn't drink. Cheers!

Did Joyce Boulifant and Joann Flugg marry the same man?
Joyce married Jo Anne Worley's husband.

I'm Jack Cassidy! I'm BISEXUAL!
I can see Drews face when looking at John Barrymore. Anyone else? Is that her dad?
His names Jack Cassidy. He’s not a Barrymore - only plays one in a movie. Not Drew’s dad.
Betty White is GOD.. Richard is Jesus. Jack is gay...
Jack was a excellent actor but a horrible person
Well, Richard thinks he's perfect.
