I actually live here and it s by far the best move i have ever made, i am definitely in love with Malta, you hardly find more beautiful paces than this
Been to Malta 13 times !! It really feels like my second home. I have many friends there who iv met over the years and when we meet up each time, it's like we have never been apart. Beautiful place, beautiful people...wish I'd moved there years ago...
Was born in Malta , immigrated with my family to Canada 59 years ago but Malta will always be in my heart, still my birthplace very proud of my Heritage.Always the Maltese girl.
Actually lived in Malta for 5 months for my internship abroad during wintertime. Lived in a house in Mdina with some other students. Such a magnificent city to walk through every day. I have visited all the listed places as well.
Good morning Pim. Did you enjoy living in Malta? Not sure if winter is the best time but it all depends on weather. What are your most favourite places to visit in Malta?
First, beautiful video, very high quality. I did go to Malta in winter because I (living in the U.S.) was visiting my mother (in the U.K. for her February birthday and she chose Malta, saying it would be a nice, warm winter vacation because it was "tucked away" in the Mediterranean. My reminding her of St. Paul's shipwreck did not deter her! We had half a day of sun when we arrived and then day after day of storms. We were in a big hotel that catered to package tours in the Valletta suburb of Slijema. We looked at the waves crashing onto the town's promenade. I ventured out every day, but my elderly mother was confined to the hotel. The sidewalk was rather rugged and she was afraid of falling. I loved Malta, and went around by local bus, going into Valletta (saw as much as I could, given very steep streets and often stairs--I have arthritic knees). Just outside the entrance to the old city is the bus station where all the island buses leave from. Very easy (and cheap) to ride around--highly recommended. Went to Mdina, seeing lots of beautiful villages with magnificent churches from the bus en route. Also visited four of the archaeological sites--fascinating, and in winter (and in the rain, often) at least they were uncrowded. Didn't get to any of the beaches or grottos, given the weather! I loved Malta and just wish I could have seen it looking like this video, with sun and blue skies and seas. If you do go in the winter, remember that the days are short, really cutting back on what you can see before evening falls. Also, you can't sit at pretty little outdoor cafes; I saw one area that I think was one, but just a courtyard with empty tables and chairs. Whatever time of year you go, you need at least a week to see anything much--there are lots of museums and churches as well as the ancient sites. I saw only some of what I'd have loved to see. I think two weeks would be ideal, so you can also relax and enjoy beaches or hotel pool. It sounds like such a small nation, but there is a lot to see. If you like taking photos or making videos, it offers so much! I'm very glad I saw it, but don't recommend winter unless you get a very cheap deal. Also, I'd stay in Valletta if possible, rather than in a tourist suburb, to save the commute into the city to catch buses, not to mention see all there is in Valletta.
I've been four times and going again in end of October. I agree. This is so far the only holiday place that I feel comfortable to travel on my own. Lovely country. Full of history.
I've been to Malta twice, in 1973 & 1981. It was beautiful. Full of culture and history, and the food is divine. All visitors must try Pastizzi. They are savory flakey pastries, filled with ricotta or mushy peas - delicious 😋 Viva Malta 🇲🇹
My favourite place. I have lovely friends there who are always welcoming. Ahh Mdina, stunning, peaceful and a great day out along with The Popeye Village. Steeped in history (I'm a massive Templars Fan). Christmas is a lovely time there as its such a religious Island, sun 🌞 shines constantly but when it gets to February its cold 🥶. As soon as restrictions are lifted I will be back.
@@lovemalta I'm well thanks. It is! around 25 degrees so really nice weather. Valletta was really nice, I enjoyed my time hopping around the islands and Victoria was beautiful. Did a vlog about my time there on my channel.
