Supreme Boi is a producer at their company. He originally was a trainee to join BTS, but I think he dropped out when they decided to change the project from a pure hip hop group to an idol group. The most phonetic way to pronounce Haegeum (the name of Yoongi’s first new MV) would be heh-guhm (emphasis on the soft ending of the u) Haegeum itself is a double meaning: the first is the name of a traditional Korean instrument (which is used in the instrumental of the song) which is most similarly classified to a Korean version of a fiddle. The second is that of “allowing something that is forbidden” - take that into consideration when looking at the lyrics! The MV for Haegeum is ASTOUNDING! Also just a heads up Amygdala is a very dark MV based on a lot of Yoongi’s own life experiences. The incident with the bike in the beginning depicts how he had gotten a part time job as a delivery driver as a trainee in seoul (his family, which lives in Daegu (think of it like the countryside) was not well off and he also had to pay for his college tuition) without telling the company and got into a car accident in which he severely injured his shoulder. The company and (at the time) CEO, Bang Sihyuk found out and he was afraid that they would let him go, but instead Bang PD paid for all his medical bills (as well as his college tuition) and told him not to worry about it. This is why in 2020 Yoongi was missing from a few of their performances; he had to get another surgery done on the same shoulder because it never really healed 100% and he never really had time to get it fixed until then

Just a little info on Supreme Boi and this song- This cypher was produced by Supreme boi - He's really good at these kind of beats. He was in the original line-up of BTS before Bang PD decided to switch from an all hip-hop group to a kpop group centered around hiphop. Which was different from what others in the industry were doing. However, he didn't want to be an idol, he joined like Yoongi/Suga- to be a producer originally. So Bang Si-Hyuk offered him a spot as one of the in house producers. He's still to this day an in house producer, helping produce and teach producing to other groups under HYBE. He's recently worked with Le Sserafim. He still works with BTS when they want, in fact he helped Yoongi on his new Agust D album, and previously helped Jimin and Hobi before that on their solo albums. He's known RM/Namjoon the longest as they were in the same underground circuit together and had a group together. He's friends with BTS but is closest with rapline.

RM and Suga were on a radio interview when they first started out where the rappers were trying to humiliate them because they became idols who wore makeup. Suga shut it down by saying he wanted as many people as possible to hear his music. Suga is considered savage when he shuts down an interviewer. BTS are very intelligent people. They all have gotten college degrees and some have masters. Supreme Boi and Namjoon go way back. They’re both part of the hiphop underground crew named, Dae Nam Hyup, along with i11evn and Iron. i11evn was actually the one who won the rap contest alongside Suga (he won 2nd place). At that time, BTS was supposed to be a hiphop crew as well and majority of the members are from Namjoon’s group. They dropped off one by one because BangPDnim decided to change the direction of BTS and turn it into a K-idol group. When this happened, Supreme Boi decided to stay at BigHit and became one of their producers.

Supreme Boi was one of the trainees of Big Hit and was supposed to be a member of BTS when the original concept was to debut as an all-rapper group. When he and a few of the other rappers found out the concept for the group changed into being idols (boy band, singing and dancing included), they backed out. That’s when Jin, JK, V and Jimin were eventually selected to be part of the “idol” version of BTS as vocalists/dancers. He (Supreme Boi) has stayed on at Big Hit as a producer. Saw Suga perform Cypher pt 3 live on Saturday night and it was amazing. Him on stage with a crowd in front of him is impossible to put into words. He lives for it. Flew to Newark from Canada for it. My shuttle driver bringing me to my hotel past thousands of people lined up in the rain around an entire city block asked me if this guy was really that good. Yes and so much more.
They performed this recently in Busan - you should watch the live show - reminds me why RM is my favorite (not that you can really choose) because the passion he raps with is so tangible.
The way rm tears into the first verse of Cypher 3 every time, all the time, it's so so so good. Like it's just so visceral, the Beast Mode really is tangible (such a good word for it) - I see why he gets that verse in the Cypher medley.

Before baby army come up in here saying some weird shit. Supreme boi is BTS‘s good friend and longtime partner in creating music. He’s produced a ridiculous amount of their songs including this one alongside the members and helped them with their solo projects quite a lot. Army sometimes has backwards ideas about him because 10+ years ago he was friends with some dude who rapped about SA. But RM was also friends with that dude at the time. Then they stopped being friends. That’s the big controversy. Supreme boi by himself has kept a very low profile and stayed out of controversies. And the BTS members obviously value him a lot and always refer to him with affection as well as the rest of big hit.

I love how the tone of cypher 1-4 changes as time passes. It starts off very angry, cypher 3, to me, being their angriest, since this was the time they were getting so much hate. Then by Cypher 4, they were selling out stadiums and the tone becomes so unbothered because despite all the hate, they won.

My favourite part of BTS songs is that they’re so layered and nuanced that even as a fan of +5 years I still discover new sides to their songs. Be it the nuances in their lyrics or the hidden adlibs, but also just how these elements interplay and create new meaning. Like I could talk for hours about just one song and I wouldn’t even scratch the surface of why it’s as great as it is because I’m limited by my own knowledge in music.

Most people miss it but when RM says “Turn the beat backwards, I’m a sewer and you’re savoury” those two words are the same but in reverse in Korean - “ha-su-gu” sewer, “gu-su-ha” savoury - so he literally turned it backwards. Also “hasu gu” in Korean means “unskilled person” or “puppet”. So basically he’s saying “you’re skill-less and I’m the opposite - my rap is pleasant to the palate”.

Supreme Boi is a producer at their company. He originally was a trainee to join BTS, but I think he dropped out when they decided to change the project from a pure hip hop group to an idol group. Over the years, Supreme Boi has mostly stayed behind the scenes. I know he did perform this song live with BTS a few times.

The most phonetic way to pronounce Haegeum (the name of Yoongi’s first new MV) would be heh-guhm (emphasis on the soft ending of the u) Haegeum itself is a double meaning: the first is the name of a traditional Korean instrument (which is used in the instrumental of the song) which is most similarly classified to a Korean version of a fiddle. The second is that of “allowing something that is forbidden” - take that into consideration when looking at the lyrics! The MV for Haegeum is ASTOUNDING!
Also just a heads up Amygdala is a very dark MV based on a lot of Yoongi’s own life experiences. The incident with the bike in the beginning depicts how he had gotten a part time job as a delivery driver as a trainee in seoul (his family, which lives in Daegu (think of it like the countryside) was not well off and he also had to pay for his college tuition) without telling the company and got into a car accident in which he severely injured his shoulder. The company and (at the time) CEO, Bang Sihyuk found out and he was afraid that they would let him go, but instead Bang PD paid for all his medical bills (as well as his college tuition) and told him not to worry about it. This is why in 2020 Yoongi was missing from a few of their performances; he had to get another surgery done on the same shoulder because it never really healed 100% and he never really had time to get it fixed until then

Just a little info on Supreme Boi and this song-
This cypher was produced by Supreme boi - He's really good at these kind of beats. He was in the original line-up of BTS before Bang PD decided to switch from an all hip-hop group to a kpop group centered around hiphop. Which was different from what others in the industry were doing.
However, he didn't want to be an idol, he joined like Yoongi/Suga- to be a producer originally. So Bang Si-Hyuk offered him a spot as one of the in house producers. He's still to this day an in house producer, helping produce and teach producing to other groups under HYBE. He's recently worked with Le Sserafim. He still works with BTS when they want, in fact he helped Yoongi on his new Agust D album, and previously helped Jimin and Hobi before that on their solo albums.
He's known RM/Namjoon the longest as they were in the same underground circuit together and had a group together. He's friends with BTS but is closest with rapline.

RM said during the Busan concert that that was probably the last time they would perform Cypher pt 3. Yoongi did do his part on the first night of his concert. RM and Suga were on a radio interview when they first started out where the rappers were trying to humiliate them because they became idols who wore makeup. Suga shut it down by saying he wanted as many people as possible to hear his music. Suga is considered savage when he shuts down an interviewer. BTS are very intelligent people. They all have gotten college degrees and some have masters. They’re both part of the hiphop underground crew named, Dae Nam Hyup, along with i11evn and Iron. i11evn was actually the one who won the rap contest alongside Suga (he won 2nd place). At that time, BTS was supposed to be a hiphop crew as well and majority of the members are from Namjoon’s group. They dropped off one by one because BangPDnim decided to change the direction of BTS and turn it into a K-idol group. When this happened, Supreme Boi decided to stay at BigHit and became one of their producers.

Supreme Boi was one of the trainees of Big Hit and was supposed to be a member of BTS when the original concept was to debut as an all-rapper group. When he and a few of the other rappers found out the concept for the group changed into being idols (boy band, singing and dancing included), they backed out. That’s when Jin, JK, V and Jimin were eventually selected to be part of the “idol” version of BTS as vocalists/dancers. He (Supreme Boi) has stayed on at Big Hit as a producer. Saw Suga perform Cypher pt 3 live on Saturday night and it was amazing. Him on stage with a crowd in front of him is impossible to put into words. He lives for it. Flew to Newark from Canada for it. My shuttle driver bringing me to my hotel past thousands of people lined up in the rain around an entire city block asked me if this guy was really that good. Yes and so much more.
They performed this recently in Busan - you should watch the live show - reminds me why RM is my favorite (not that you can really choose) because the passion he raps with is so tangible.
The way rm tears into the first verse of Cypher 3 every time, all the time, it's so so so good. Like it's just so visceral, the Beast Mode really is tangible (such a good word for it) - I see why he gets that verse in the Cypher medley.

Before baby army come up in here saying some weird shit. Supreme boi is BTS‘s good friend and longtime partner in creating music. He’s produced a ridiculous amount of their songs including this one alongside the members and helped them with their solo projects quite a lot. Army sometimes has backwards ideas about him because 10+ years ago he was friends with some dude who rapped about SA. But RM was also friends with that dude at the time. Then they stopped being friends. That’s the big controversy. Supreme boi by himself has kept a very low profile and stayed out of controversies. And the BTS members obviously value him a lot and always refer to him with affection as well as the rest of big hit.

Haegeum (pronounced haygum) after Cypher 4 !! you are gonna love it. Amygdala (sounds like amigdulla in english - accent on the mig) deep, paaiiinful - but triumphant. His life story told sooooo brilliantly. And then his solo concert. holy shit. amazing. Suga/Agust D/Yoongi just slays.

I love how the tone of cypher 1-4 changes as time passes. It starts off very angry, cypher 3, to me, being their angriest, since this was the time they were getting so much hate. Then by Cypher 4, they were selling out stadiums and the tone becomes so unbothered because despite all the hate, they won.

RM's verse in Cypher pt. 3 is my favorite out of all 4 cyphers! if you didn't notice, in the end of RM's verse he says "I Sit" which is relevant to his last line "seats that you all can never sit on your lifetime", and also has a double meaning which implies that he sits because it's the end of his verse and he resigns.

(it isn't directly translated in this video, but suga mentions "hong kong", you will be able to hear it if you listen carefully) "bring you to hong kong" is a slang term in Korea for bringing someone into an orga$m, kinda like how some people say the orga$m will bring them to "another dimension/world" or something lol. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THAT LAST BIT WHERE HE JUST SPITS FIRE WITHOUT BREATHING! CHOP CHOP CHOP INDEED!
supreme boi is a longtime friend, writer, and producer for bts. he originally was a trainee at bighit (their entertainment company) and was training to be a member of bts as well, but he chose to stay behind the scenes. he's been featured in a lot of bts songs, mostly rap verses, and produced great bOPS for them. aND before some mindless "armys" talk, supreme boi was involved in a slight controversy cause he was friends and hanging out with someone who rapped about s3xual @ssault, RM was good friends with this person before as well, but they both ARE NOT FRIENDS WITH THAT PERSON ANYMORE!! and supreme boi has been staying lowkey and avoiding controversy noww. with all that said though, supreme boi has contributed a lot in the success of bts, and is sometimes even called the honorary 8th member lol.

Agust D's new title track Hae-geum is pronounced like the "he" in "helipad" and "gum"! Agust is gonna mention it a lot on the track of course. imma keep it short, but a bit of context on hae-geum before you listen to it. "hae-geum" has a double meaning, the first and more common definition is that haegeum is a traditional korean instrument (kinda like a fiddle) and you'll hear it on the start of the track. the second, and probably more important meaning in the track is that "hae-geum" means a "lifting of a ban/prohibition".

You need to watch their last concert as a group which was yet to come in Busan last October 2022. They did the Cypher pt. 3 and Ugh and damn it was the best ever.. Yet to come concert will be out in Prime on November 9!

My favourite part of BTS songs is that they’re so layered and nuanced that even as a fan of +5 years I still discover new sides to their songs.
Be it the nuances in their lyrics or the hidden adlibs, but also just how these elements interplay and create new meaning. Like I could talk for hours about just one song and I wouldn’t even scratch the surface of why it’s as great as it is because I’m limited by my own knowledge in music.

Killer is my favorite too but the beat and flow on Cypher pt.4 comes close! Agust D new song is Haegeum (pronounced like hay-gum, more gm instead of gum, but e is silent) which means a korean fiddle instrument as well as lifting a ban on something or liberation. Which is important to understand the song.

i absolutely recommend watching their busan yet to come performance of this because the journey they take you on applies to live too, their energies are all so different but it is insane how well they execute it, especially suga's part, the way he rides it high and then low for the horny part and then shoots from 0 to 100 for the end is something to see, mans does not need oxygen i swear.
