The Anphelion Project - New Plans for 2024

- Greetings Anphelion Project, Elysians Drop troops and Tyranid fans! Oh and we mustn't forget the Red scorpion space marine fans. In this video I go over my plans for a rather large undertaking. The construction of 3 warhammer 40k armies, The Elysian Drop troops, Tyranids and Red scorpion s and also my plans to create some game boards featuring the Aphelion base.
There will be rather a few videos in this series so stay tuned for more!

This will be one of those projects that transcends rules sets. Build and paint what you please! The results will speak for themselves.
The Anphelion Project sounds fun and interesting! I like your idea of starting simple with the green matt, the scratch built terrain and starting with the IG, SMs and Tyranids that you've got in The Garage of Legends.

What do you like about them?
@@SnakeWorksStudio That they just have a decent amount of lore with an interesting flavor to them. They’re one of the few astartes chapters that fallow the imperial cult as well as viewing the codex as a holy text. Their geneseed origins are dubious (maybe loyalist WBs?) Even their chapters organization is slightly atypical with a large apothecarium and slender scout company. I think they’re almost infinitely fascinating and definitely deserve their own novel.
That's an ambitious but incredibly awesome project. I would think a 3D printer would be in order for that wicked cool terrain. I cant wait to see your drop troops. 👍

That project sounds amazing, I found the Anphelion Project to be one of the most atmospheric FW books ever made.
Also, the FW resin Trygon was replaced by a GW plastic Trygon in 2010. That’s off the top of my head, there are other replacements and discontinuations for the other FW Tyranid models in that book.
Very excited to see how this project goes!

@@SnakeWorksStudio years ago. I wanted to get the forge world kit but it was discontinued :( I was obsessed with Anphelion when i first got into the hobby!
This is very cool! Iv'e never heard of these guys. I quite 2nd edition and returned in 8th so obviously bypassed them. Im a Cadian collector mainly so these have a lot of appeal. I spent about 5 hours watching various videos about them after wathcing this. Juasrasic park meets Aliens is a wicked setting/theme. luv it! Being slaughtered by tyranids in a beautiful tropical green setting must be a far nicer experience than death by tyranid on a hive world or hospitable planet. Can we see the D99s you have already soon please? Ginger Spice back then and still now.

Sounds like a great project. I know you said you have quite a few Tyranid already but there is a new partworks starting this month using the Leviathan sculpts, which could allow you to pick up a few more fairly cheaply.
Sadly i think they are the same as from the leviathan set. :-(
For the terrain go mdf, i’m sure there’s something close out there somewhere, it’s cheap and easy to make plus you can tart it up abit with some texture paint and things

I believe that there are 3d prints of the amphelion base out there somewhere. Not sure how close to the original FW pieces they are, but its an option (if it hasnt been taken down)

@SnakeWorksStudio The whole set looks pretty good, but I would imagine that its quite costly to print or buy pre printed due to its size. If you look up "anphelion project stl" you'll get the results youre looking for
