Building a Tauros Venator - Elysian D99 - The Anphelion Project
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 лип 2024
- Greetings Tauros Venator and Elysian drop troops fans! In this video we build the brand new Tauros Venator from Games workshop, this kit was released for the Palanite enforcers in Necromunda but like most people I shall be converting it for use in my Astra Militarum army, notably the Elsyian D-99.
The Tauros Venator is a modified version of the Tauros assault vehicle, the main change being the replacement of the standard weapon mount with a twin-linked set of heavier weaponry such as Heavy stabbers, Lascannons or Multi-Lasers. The increased energy reserves required to power the weapon requires the rear of the vehicle to be extended and an extra pair of wheels installed to maintain stability. These modifications prevent the Tauros Venator from being airlifted by a standard Valkyrie, instead relying on Sky Talon Valkyries, which are equipped to deal with heavy loads
This is the first "Proper" video in my Anphelion project series where we aim to collect, build paint and PLAY the armies and scenarios of the Anphleion project.
You can see the series intro here: • The Anphelion Project
In the next video we shall be painting the Tauros Venator in a suitable scheme for the Elysian D99.
What are your views on the Tauros Venator?
Will you be using your Tauros venator for your Elysians or your Necromunda Enforcers?
Will elysian ever make a return in plastic?

Sorting hat stuff:
The Tauros venator is a Warhammer 40k kit im using for the Elysian Drop troops. The Tauros venator is used by the elysian drop troops in warhammer 40k.
Warhammer 40k features the Tauros venator and its used by the elysian drop troops. sometime is find that warhammer 40k features the elysian drop troops using the tauros venator.
The elysian drop troops use the tauros venator in warhammer 40k. I like to think the Elysian drop troops and the Tauros venator go hand in hand in warhammer 40k. - Розваги

Finally learnt the sign language for "lazcannons" and "multi meltas". Many thanks
They are similar to "other" words apparently :D
Carpet tip: shine a bright light across the carpet sideways. The shadow of the part is easier to spot than the part itself.
That’s a good one! I should write these down!
It works on hard floors too.
Carpet tip: prime your sprues pink before snipping stuff off. You can always reprime over with black or other color or choose when it’s assembled.
That might actually work!
Elysians are my favorite regiment. That's a shame that they're roster has hit such a blow
There are one of the only volunteer regiments that is mentioned
One theory that I heard was that the original sculptors of the elysians had rights or royalties of sort to to the former illustration designers and sculptors. And GW didn't want to pay. Does that make sense and is that a common thing in this industry?
@@bryanttspross1456 Early GW sculptors were I think at least a mix of in-house and contractors. IIRC, Bob Nesmith helped designed the first Space Marines and had some sort of royalty on them for a while. And there used to be a fifth Chaos God, Malal, that was allegedly dropped because it was originally invented for a Warhammer Fantasy RPG game by a contractor who held the rights to it which GW didn’t want to pay.
So it’s possible, but I’d say unlikely as Elysians are recent enough that GW had already moved everything in-house before then, so it seems unlikely to me that there would have been a rights issue to them unless the issue was external with another company that threatened a lawsuit which GW wasn’t sure they’d win.
Good looking kit.
You gonna get one?
@@SnakeWorksStudio I don't do Warhammer, but we do Traveller in 25mm. I think I'll scratch build a few just because I love this kit so much.
First time seeing your channel. Great video and Mrs. Snakeworks has such a cute voice. Subscribes and likes 👍🏻
She says thank you very much!
You guys absolutely crack me up, I really really enjoy these videos! My favourite carpet trick is learnign that when you drop something, rather than try and catch it and just fire it across the room never seen again as you miscatch it, I just let it drop and try and watch where it goes, far more effective retrieval rate. Also the shining your phone light across the carpet and looking for the shadow trick as someone else mentioned.
You are very kind! Thank you very much! Will you be getting a Taurus yourself?
I had the exakt same operations.. dropped the ball on that one🤣
yeah! im surprised I had the balls to go through with it!
The bumper is called a Baja Bumper and the other small things are wheel hub extensions
Aha! I have never heard of that before
Plans to do the same ! Great video
You’re doing the guard crew swap?
Awesome video as always. Can’t wait for paint. Love the film snippets and the humour too. Keep it up
You are very kind! painting is all done we are just in the edit now so probably within the next couple of weeks.
*struggles opening box*
Mrs Snakeworks: “btw that cardboard looks softer”
The savagery. 😂😂😂
You can’t grip it! It just tears
The last few kits I’ve gotten. The cardboard of the box does feel thinner and softer. It does seem to tear far easier than before
to not lose parts tear off a strip of tape and lay it out sticky side up. place your parts on it in order of build position in the instructions.
A brilliant idea! Thanks!
I jave serious doubts we will ever see Elysian again. But who knows.
I'm hoping for a kill team! Krieg got one...
Cutters tip: the "new" GW cutter are awesome.
I need to have a look at those!
Smiley face part name - Back-end-of-a-bus McBusFace
Great video, humbly suggest just like 15% less aggressive cut edits.
Youre very kind! I will take that into consideration. Are you building your own tauros?
@@SnakeWorksStudio Bruh, that's a modeler kit, give me a chance to just paint the six Dark Vengeance chaos cultists I bought on e-bay as a first project...
By contrast I enjoy the outrageous editing very much! Hard to please everyone!
I like the hard editing, classic Snakeworks. Love it.
More stowage, camo netting and more stowage
Camo netting is a great idea!
Operation Testicle Drop is a green light.
Elysian drop testes
DSPIAE single blade side cutter
Or Stedi.
Both cheaper than Godhand and fairly decent quality. Best used to clean off the gate nub after you have clipped part from sprue with your Tamiya cutters. You shouldn’t be cutting flush to the part while still on sprue, cut 1-2mm from part. Use the single blade cutters to cut flush to the part to remove the nub. This will prevent any tearing or other damage to the surface of the part
I shall look into them, do they sell them in the UK?
@@SnakeWorksStudiohonestly don’t know. I got mine from Amazon, so check your uk version
Size-wise how does this measure up to a Genestealer Ridgerunner? I'd love to convert one.
How easy would it be to convert for cadian's?
I would do the same as I did but with cadian heads. Are you getting one?
The name is Wilber
a good name!
Kinda lame that the steering wheel doesn’t fit right out of the box. Also kinda sad that the weapons options on the model don’t match up with the weapons options in the 40k legends rules. Do you think the weapons from the Sentinel Sprues will fit the Tauros? If so I might have to pick up three.
Face name: Vinny the Venator
He has been named!
Terry's Chocolate Orange?
I love chocolate oranges
Marcel, I have a bunch of Red sorpions transfers/decals if you want them.
That sounds really handy! How should I contact you?
@@SnakeWorksStudio find me on the book of farces?
Who am I searching for?
same as my channel
@@SnakeWorksStudio
I reckon the steering is pneumatic
Not hydraulic?
ah yes, I meant hydraulic. Are you a fan of grease nipples?
Regardless of whether it's "ros" or "rus", the first syllable is Taur, pronounced Taw. Tauros, Taurus, Taurox, Centaur, Auroch. It's always an "aw" sound.
I think you’re right! We shall address it in the painting video which is now in the edit
@SnakeWorksStudio either way, nice build and appreciate the video. Like you, I'm eyeing them up for my Guard (British themed on desert bases, so I'm thinking lots of stowage LRDG style)
Wait, what is everyone calling the Tau? 😅
They can stay as tau
@LightweightNat Tau (now officially T'au) is pronounced to rhyme with cow, because during the design stage it was spelled Tao. They changed the spelling to differentiate from Taoism, but kept the pronunciation because the Greek letter tau is pronounced tuf.
Tau and Taur are both Greek, but have different roots and meanings, therefore pronounced differently.
The worst part of 40k. It isn't toxic competitiveness. It isn't FOMO. It isn't the bad hygiene practices of far too many.
It's people who mispronounce Guard vehicle names 😂
Less than a minute in, lets see if I can complete the video!
Aha! I hope you carried on to see that addressed!
Oh shit,
Operation Wolf! Hardest, most ridiculous NES game ever. Made no sense.
Haha did you get past the first level?
hell no@@SnakeWorksStudio
Can't stand the meme editing
Not a fan?
Love your content, delivery, jokes.... just non the editing, but each to his own@@SnakeWorksStudio
