I have 3, currently I'm working on two dieselpunk regiments, one is based on alternative history ww1/ww2 british infantry and the other is just generally dieselpunk inspired, more in line with Valkyria Chronicles in design.
9:50 Interestingly, the Fremen were the original inspiration for the Van Saar. Have a look at the classic Van Saar - they're straight-up wearing stillsuits.
I hope GW is listening right now Pete because I actually bought a box of Cadians because of this video! I got inspired and after looking around in my bits box and seeing all of my admech bits - I'm now the proud owner of a battle servitor guard kill team!
Painting the new Cadian rifles up with wooden stocks and furniture looks amazing. Really changes the look of the weapon and gives it a classic WW1 vibe. The Exaction squad as a basis for Knight household troops is fantastic as well. Looks like that kit has a ton of conversion potential. Thanks for showcasing the new Kromlech stuff! I was looking forward to seeing their desert troops and hoping they'd make for good cultists... seems like I'm in luck there.
I see these videos as entertainment. It's a big illusion that has kept 28mm alive that the normal customer can somehow come to produce painted minis anywhere close to the ones presented. (They cant)
@@a-sheep-of-christ I mean you can it just involves extra leg work on your end, kit bashing involves you putting in the work to make things work together even when they come from different kits, this is not like buying and assembling a Cadian model, but it is not that much more difficult if you have at least some level of experience assembling minis or even scale models where you might kit bash a lot more.
@@a-sheep-of-christ blue stuff and two part epoxy molding does a great job at making cheap bits to help with kit bashing an entire army, same with companies like war games Atlantic selling 20+ guard for 30 bucks per box
I have a suggestion, if you're interested - I have my own custom force of space pirates I'm working on, and I'd love to see how you tackle that concept! Just normal non-chaotic human space pirates.
the Fremen-one is great, did something similiar (though way not that refined) a decade ago based on the classic Eldar-Guardians (the resemble the Lynch-Fremen-Suits in my opinion). Great work as ALWAYS!
I don't know if you're a Half-Life fan, but if you put the more militant looking Skitarii heads (with the gears removed), and paint the cloth blue and the armor black, you can have an entire regiment of Barney Calhoun
While not a custom Regiment, I do know one fun one - Custom SM Chapters and CSM Warbands. I find The Custom Bit great for this as among other third party pieces, they have a Samurai and Roman range, as well as Viking and Templars that aren't Space Wolves or Black Templars/Dark Angels
I missed your videos where you customize a large batch of models, especially your Kill team style videos. Those were in my opinion some of your best work. And if you want some ideas for customizing guardsmen, well I have quite a few for you. But i'll stick to suggesting one for now. There is a regiment that I made for an Only War campaign quite some time ago that I've always wanted to see represented on the tabletop, and I think you would do them justice. They are a religious warrior culture who honor the imperium but translate their fervor into honing their prowess, skill, and veterancy in the field of combat. Die hard warriors who are not allowed to return from the field of battle until they have slain a foe, be this by bloodying their blades or bringing back a piece of the foe. They specialize in melee combat, but will utilize range when neccessary.
This is a damn good show of Custom regiments and expert crafting! I'm inspired to dig out old Random Regiment Roll Tables and fluff up some new IG of my own!
Your videos add a great breath of creativity as well as a soothing source of entertainment. I was also wondering if you could do a video of Space Marines Scouts and Neophytes, seeing as GW has limited those models, and I would like to have some fresh blood to the chapter
Seeing as GW doesnt make renegades and traitor guardsmen other than the one KT kit, it would be very cool to see a traitor guard conversion, perhaps for something like the moebian 6th or blood pact?
Wargames Atlantic just today launched a crowdfunding campaign for their "The Damned" line of plastic kits. Ones heavily reminiscent of the old traitor guardsmen. They've got four kits unlocked at base, with the potential for loads more if the campaign goes well. Check it out, if you want. It might be what you're looking for.
Pete, I have few ideas for you. 1) 5 member team… Judges (Judge Dredd) 2) 5 member team… lightly armored strike team… Vader - leader, 4 members of the 501. 3) 5 member team… mixed unit… MD Geist - leader, Ironman, Tau Fireworrior Eldar, ED 209,
This is awesome! I’m just getting into 40K tabletop and I’m looking to create a regiment of guard that have been requisitioned by the inquisition and have some stormtroopers and other inquisitorial agents with them, basically darktide tabletop hahaha
I had the same idea for the fremen! I have a GSC army that uses normal neophytes, Van Saar, and Nomads for the neophytes, and delaque models for the acolytes, all dune themed.

I've always thought that the Warhammer fantasy Freeguild kits would make a great basis for a Imperial Guard regiment, specifically the outriders, pistolers, greatswords, and the general all of which have that nice mix of armor and cloths made with extra cloth that were indicative of the Landsknecht of the the 15th century, though the hatted heads of the freeguild crossbowmen could add a bit of that vibe to the Tempestus Scion's torso's
My current regiment is the Deamrian Valarian Rifles. They are originally a PDF regment drafted into the Imperal guard. They are noted for their light armor utilizing only a simple flack vest, cadian styled helmit and long coats. They often prefer their own factorum created auto guns and pistoles, though as time has gone on they have come to integrate lass guns into the regment. They specialize in cold weather and forest warfare. With experience fighting asemetrical warfare as well as Orks.
