Personally I prefer it where scarecrow is actually relatively sane and just malicious rather than insane, it think it’s far more threatening that he’s meticulously planning on the best ways to inflict fear on others rather than being just crazy or acting out his trauma. For me the scarecrow starting as a meek person who desired the power that fear gives him over others and is convinced of his own superiority is how I’d prefer him to be written. This origin seems too much like it’s going for shock and motivated by crazy rather than something’s interesting
@@tayojones9460True. But personally, I prefer him being generally sadistic and being only interested on his “research” over him being out for revenge. But, admittedly, revenge is a good motive for a first/origin story. As long as it’s not boring.
@@Victor-qx3vx I agree vengeance makes sense for an origin and also helps him parallel Batman as both use fear as part of their tactics, the difference is that Scarecrow revels in the power it gives him and the suffering he gets to inflict whereas with Batman he uses fear to discourage criminals and acts as more or less a consequences for their actions.
I think one of the reasons why DC made so many comic origins for Scarecrow is because telling the villain's backstory is very interesting, and great character exploration (if done right), yet very basic and hard to fuck up. Most of the time Scarecrow just shows up, sprays Batman with fear toxin, and gets knocked out, so maybe the writers don't know what other story they can write for him. It's a real shame because he, like all of Batman's rouges, has great potential that is not used to its full potential.
I like the idea of the wicked grandmother but I don’t think scarecrow necessarily needs a deeper meaning behind what he does, with how I prefer him crane never struck me as the kinda of guy to hold a grudge (at least to a certain extent without being petty), all he cares about is ppl being test subjects, playing with their minds, and becoming a powerful force inflicting fear on those who looked down on him. Maybe make it so that Crane's father is actually his step father, who knows his wife cheated on him and thus has a distain for the boy and the family as a whole (don't really need to bring it up, but he could have still gone through with the marriage due to family pressure, political or financial reasons). The father's mother (i.e. Crane's grandmother) knows this as well and thus tortures Crane psychologically since he was basically a toddler. I think his step father shouldn't be actively involved in the torture at first (just ignoring and belittling Crane), only joining in later as he sees him as a good test subject for his experiments...

I’d argue that Scarecrow is at his best when he is sadistic but that sadism appears in a generalized way through his “scientific curiosity/research”.
That way the sadism has no target in particular, therefore revenge is unnecessary.
I guess I am the only one who.liked the story? Seriously if any of you think you can write a better Crane story just write and stop fucking complaining aboit a character that does not fucking exisy!
@@tayojones9460Calm down.
I wasn’t even complaining. I’m just sharing how I like the character to be written. How I think it works best.
I’m sure you have a favorite version of a character and I’m sure you’d have fun talking about why you like that particular version.
And if you’re referring to the first comment: What was it that angered you in his comment?
I bet Mr. Rogues would really hate the Gotham Knights tv series.
the original is the best, a simple origin for a simple character
Scarecrow has a surprising number of origin stories, but I agree that this is one of his weakest. Cycle of Violence is probably his best.
Please review Nemesis: Reloaded
I didn’t like or dislike this one. Indifferent would be the word.
I read a little bit of this book not see this is my favourite But I don't think I read all of it because it was boring😅
More please
I gotta say it's pretty funny how you stated that everyone around you loved this story and after this video this entire comment section goes on a tangent how awful it suddenly is now
HES BAXK!!!!!!!!
👍
I agree on the art, I’m not an artist but it just doesn’t look appealing
:D ayyy
Do a forgotten ghost rider villain lilith and charaxes
I don’t think he is back - back.
From his post it seems he’ll just make his old patreon exclusive videos available to us.
Which I’m already very happy about.
Mr. Rogues is a married man; he cannot stick with content creation forever.
I like the suit in this one but that's about it. I like the art as it's own thing but yeah it does not match the vibe.
I share a similar opinion on the Batman RIP storyline, it's pretty boring and confusing, at least for me.
Le Bossu was one of the few good things about that story for me
Its jojo love you mr rouges 6864
Yoo
The New 52 origin is still better.
God, this comic is so bad it made Batman: Through the Looking Glass look like Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.
Oh well ...this comic was the perfect example of how NOT to do a year one story.
Mediocre at best , deep sleep induceing at worst.
Can do without it ... getting new content from Mr. Rogues on the other hand is a must!
