    Mercedes suspension. Probable cause of the suspension problems is the weight of the car. I have a 2014 300 AWD, it weighs over 4200 lbs. Very few of the land yachts of the 50's and 60's weighed more. Something to think about: When I drove cars from the 60's and 70's ball joint and tie rod replacement was a 50k miles thing, now we complain about 100k mile failure. Progress has been made.

    Wanted to clarify the "temperature issue" 215 is the normal operating temp. The cooling fan should be running on high when a/c is on and you're in traffic at operating temp. Disconnect the main connector to fans. Tighten all pins and add stable it 22 or GM PCM Grease dielectric grease , the first two are better. I would not change my thermostat to a lower temperature unless you want the check engine light on and lower your fuel mileage and also damage your catalytic converter over time. The front end #1 problem is the upper control arms and the struts. all Chrysler sedans also the Challenger have this issue because it's typical the same platform. Most of them have this problem by about 90,000 miles.. the throttle body problem is the pedal position sensor where the lightning bolt comes on the dash which is common mostly around 05 .06 The engine noise or tapping ticking noise is mainly due to people not changing the oil right or using the proper oil. Use exactly what it came with and stay will in the recommended mileage interval. It's not the lifters, it's not the camshaft it's not the valves, it's not the valve seats for sure. What happens is, the rollers on the rockers get wallowed out , almost always in the very rear cylinders typically on the passenger side usually the last two cylinders. Pretty easy fix . No heads to be pulled at all just the valve cover and there's a trick to get them out they cost $20 a piece I usually replace about four. I have an 06 Hemi C 188k and I've only replaced the struts, links and upper control arms. Another way to get life out of cooking fan is keep your condenser and radiator clean and free of bugs and debris use electric motor cleaner once in a while to get out some abrasion. Air compressor helps a lot. Good luck. Clean your throttle body every 30k

    I have owned 8 of the 300c -Hemi cars since 2005. My current model is a 2019 300c platinum. I did put on approx 2000,00 km every year until I bought my 2017 which my wife drives now. The only problem I have ever had was bad strut tensioners. I fixed that by putting Mevotech tensioners which are greaseable but you do have to get an alignment when you install them. Zero engine problems --BUT I change my synthetic oil every 5,000 miles and did in all my previous ones. I highly recommend these cars.

    2006 srt8 owned for 7 years: snapped driveshafts off at the hub went with getrag lsd and uprated drive shafts, had the gremlins in the electrics after cleaning EVERY plug, module, fusebox, found a broken wire in the ignition module, pink thing that locks it in park is mega common and just happened, master cylinder just went internally and lost brakes!! Suspension all polybushed with pedders after 2lots of standard arms all round, shocks unevenly self balencing, replaced with bc coil overs, dipstick snapped, sunroof decided to POUR water in and tried for weeks to get it sealed, siloconed it up and now have a moon roof instead. Various issues that have been a pain more than issues, but one hell of a beast!!! This thing scares anyone within a mile radius on start up and if ur next to me in a tunnel then kiss good bye to ear drums. Biggest issue i have is in the uk getting parts, nearly all come from the states apart from a few good companies over here. Fuel consumption isnt bad for what it is, steady drive on cruise at 65mph returns approx 30mpg. Have not go to throw this car about, its power if u need it and ohhhhh baby i need it, one squirt of the naughty peddal and ur hooked!

    2009 Chrysler 300 by 3.5 with 172k miles....I've owned it for 4 years and I have replaced the radiator at around 155k but not the fans...I just replaced the fuel pump..the front control arms..the front rod ends..and the esp/bas/stoplight switch issue and a sticking/ticking lifter are my current issues (ticking stops after the oil/car has warmed up).... It's a great car and I love it...and over time most great things fall apart...but boy has this been a mission to keep up...oh and also the rattling suspension when on bumpy roads...Thanks for this video...stay awesome!!!💙💙💙

    the 300 and Dodge Magnum are both on the Daimler LX platform. Identical vehicles inside and out with exception of front facia and rear roof. I love both vehicles. Suspension is horrible in both, and go out often. Every few years I was replacing them all. That engine is a monster for power for the vehicle, and the interior is graciously spacious. I put magna flow cats muffler and pipes on my 300 and that sound.... oh that sound.
    I wish they made newer magnums though. I was hit head on by a minivan going 50 and I was going 40... front end damaged up to the pulleys on the engine and hood buckled. Rest of the car stayed immaculate and intact. Airbag deployed as it should. Walked away scratchless. Thinking about cutting the front frame and putting a 300 front end on it. Seen some like it, and it's pretty wicked.
    I am proof that the 5 star crash rating is not a fluke.
    Something else... only one keyhole on the entire vehicle(s)... driver's side door. You will be up s@it creek if you lose the madter key, as the spare does not open the door ~ it only starts the ignition. And if the battery dies, you will not get in your vehicle... happened to me, and had to call AAA to pop the door.
    Ok, I paused the video at 4:31 just to comment, now going back to the video.

      I stopped locking it. I need to pull the lock in the door and just put in another. I kept the panel over the back latch uncovered... A string in it would be easy, but it does need a lock core to help. It's easy enough to just add another key to the vehicle and have one for doors and one for ignition... But currently, I just don't lock it at all

    Sitting at about 110k on my 2007. So far no issues with the fans, throttle body or valves. Have had the suspension issues though. Ended up replacing just about everything to get rid of the rattling noise. The newest thing is the radio/nav display has gone blank. Comes on every now and then but mainly blank. The volume knob is the oily thing that works so it's left on the last station. Planning to sell it next spring so I'll need to get that resolved first. Have enjoyed owning the car though. The 5.7 is a beast. Thanks for the videos. AE

      Hey bro read my comment. I drive a 6.1 SRT8 with a procharger on it since new and it has 93,000 miles daily driver in Arizona and it's been almost perfect. So basically it's the 6.1 is what you should get. it is more of a simple lighter high-revving designed it's been more reliable and has some German Mercedes influence even runs stock 0-40 oil on the cap from factory.

    I wanted to thank you for your info on the 300. Mine is a 08 300C. LOVE IT! Have had no problems until lately (128k miles) front end making a lot of noise
    Took it on for est. Basically $2200. will fix it. The suspension on these cars are way different than my Loncolns air ride systems. Needs struts, grommets, etc plus alignment. Sounds like a bucket of bolts of you hit a small bump. They assured me no tirods were broken etc, I am hearing metal hitting metal, however, it's still safe to drive, just sounds bad and a little harder to handle. That price includes labor and alignment. Stated parts were a trip to find at reasonable prices. The cars rear end is fine. BTW, LOVE your black interior! I got black with light silverish interior (wanted black). Most people comment on it's Clear Coat. It's a multi-color fleck. Beautiful. Plus my son put a ceramic coating on it some years ago. (Professional Job) Money well spent. I never have to use soap or scrub it. Everything simply slides off. Highly recommend it on all cars, but best when very new to add on. Lasts for years if properly cleaned, extending life of ceramic coating. Thanks for heads up on fans etc. Will have them check those out as well. Loved the info/presentation and your car. I LOVE MY 5.7. STILL gets up and JETS! LOL

      Wrap some kind of rubber around your sway bar bushings and you won't have the clunking up front no more,the bushings are made to small from the factory ..I have mocked mine and the measurements don't match Chrysler knows this cuz I told them and they haven't done a thing to correct it..if u get new bushings this problem will happen again within 20 thousand miles most likely so I wrapped an old inner tube rubber around mine and it's worked fer70 thousand miles so far..try it it's four bolts and done .

    I have a 06 5.7 Charger with 153k miles. I keep up with my maintenance so the only issues I have had I'd consider to be normal. I did a brake booster swap last week. I swapped the PCV valve as a precaution. No issues with my radiator, but I have a flutter noise coming from my passenger side engine compartment. Sounds like the exhaust manifold. I may need a new gasket. I'm being proactive and swapping the oil pressure sensor next week when I do my oil change (Mobil 1 synthetic only). The gap fitments of the hood and bumpers are a nusance for sure . Oh! I had to swap the clock spring a few months ago and that's a common problem I've heard. I am having a the suspension noise as well. Not sure what's the best solution there and I am running OEM Replica 20 inch Challenger rims on my Charger.

    2007 300C 186k miles
    Replaced: Two sets of front struts. Outer tie rods about 3 or 4 total. Inner tie rods are original and still in great shape. Upgraded to full disc slotted and drilled brake set powerstop. KN Cold Air. Oil Sensor. Driver side door handle. Alternator. Battery. Parking selector switch broke had to Jerry rig it(little pink switch thing broke where the spring attaches under the shifter). Tension Arms and swaybar/stabilizer bushings twice. Pain in the ass those are. Some driveway bodywork between fender and bumper. Water pump replaced by the shop. Is now leaking from front engine area hoping it's a hose. Valve cover gaskets. Upper control arms. Lower main ball joints are in need of replacement. The TICK is getting louder. Power steering is groaning. Laying underneath I can see some beginning leakage of oil near head gaskets with a flashlight. Rear license plate wire short behind bumper cover. Water leak from trunk lid seal. Rear axle cover seal needs replaced. Transmission never even checked it yet. Check TPM system code every drive. Etc. Etc. But...
    Still starts up and gets on it every day. Sounds amazing when I open it up. Average about 19mpg for 350hp big body that I paid 14k for on 2/14/14 at 72k. I'll drive it til it breathes no more

    • @Drilla2rilla
      @Drilla2rilla 4 роки тому +5

      But with doing that your fans run even more. Now I changed to the lower tstat at about 90k in my 06 srt8 and have the diablo tuner so changed when all of my fans engage. I have not had to replace the fans yet at 123k

    • @Ifyoucantdodgeitramit
      @Ifyoucantdodgeitramit 4 роки тому +5

      It shouldn't cause the fans to run more. Pretty sure the only reason they would run more is if the tstat you put in was a higher temp than OE. A a cooler running engine should utilize the fans less.

    • @Drilla2rilla
      @Drilla2rilla 4 роки тому +3

      Well it does tell you to program the fan to engage 20 degrees lower at every aspect meaning Idol running and all that after lowering your teeth at the 182 in order to keep the temperature down all together now I see what you're saying as well but as far as what Diablo recommended with their tuner is to have the fans engage 20 degrees cooler

    Thank you for the video. I do agree with you on most if not all of your comments. I wish to add the following based on my own experience with two Chrysler 300s 2007 and 2013.
    1. Front end problems with both cars and it did not matter whether I used Mopar bushings, links, and ball joints or aftermarket upper/lower arm controls, they simply went bad and had to replace them twice once at 55.000 miles and again on 126.000 miles.
    2.The 2013 300: 3.6L Pentastar (TICK TICK TICK) sounds familiar? is another disaster where rocker arms had factory defects, the metal part will eat up the camshafts and have fun with ticking noise plus cylinders misfiring so I had to replace 24 of them on both banks and was lucky to do it before eating up the camshaft lobes where the metal shaving might blow the whole engine altogether. Add to it weak headlights compared with 2007 ( 4 headlights vs. one cheap bulb for both low and high beam on 2013 models) good luck turning into a driveway on a rainy night.
    3. power steering fluid simply disappeared on the 2013 without showing any signs of leaks, I still don't know where all that fluid went! needless to say, you must remove the front tire and wheel well plastic to access the reservoir. convenient location? Really?
    4. Rear axle wining sounds developed at around 60.000 miles in both models.
    and yes indeed Mercedes back in 2007 put the 300 together solving many electrical and transmission issues with older Chrysler only for Fiat to take it over and make Chrysler run on a budget to feels so cheap just like another Fiat.

    Owned a 2007 300 with 120000 miles on it before I traded it in. The only issues were air conditioning(pump, I believe), a leaky sun roof, a non working middle tail light assy and an engine light came on just before trade-in in 2019. It had the standard 6 in it. Over all a great reliable car. The 2015 replacement only seems to have an issue with a wheel sensor(ABS/TRACTION) fault. Reccomendation: Get the bumper to bumper CHRYSLER 5 year warranty.

    07 300C Hemi, bought in 2015, have already had engine rebuilt year after purchased. My mechanic told me Chrysler has a defect in their Hemi, go figure, its just like you said in your video, mines a 5.7.anyway, most of what you have discussed I have had. Radiator replaced twice, cooling fan disintegrated basically had to replace as well. Alternator, battery replaced, shifting lever piece, cost me $13.00, for a small little plastic piece had to replace within the shifter (got stuck in park). Suspension work here and there, Engine rebuild cost me $2800, another mechanic wanted to give me another defected engine for $6600 (WTF?) rebuild was best way to go. I have put some money into keeping it on the road, however, No Car Payment, so i would say I am just fine with a repair every now and then. Happy Camper!

    Great video! I have a 2008. 3.5 L V6. 172K on the odometer. Has been a great car. I bought it from the original owner who managed to hit 2 deer with it and fixed it twice. You would be hard pressed to believe that it you saw it. Body shop did a great job each time. 40 mile plus everyday driver plus Amazon Flex delivery vehicle on the weekends. Had an EGR valve go bad several years ago. Pulled the intake and replaced the EGR valve and a new intake gasket plus new plugs while it was easy to get to. I have put at least 2 alternators in. A little tricky to coax into position. I have the front suspension knock. Gets worse in cold weather. Local shop claims the camber plates on the struts are to blame. Have not gotten that fixed yet. Starting to hear a lifter tick and starting to lose some oil between oil changes. It's not burning it or leaking it as far as I can tell, so not sure what the issue is here. Have always had the Chrysler transmission whine. Was told it was the way the gears are cut and mesh. I got used to it. I would definitely buy another one. I have never had one with a Hemi, but would consider it.

    2008 AWD Chrysler 300c 5.7L with 134k miles on it. I'm the original owner. The worst problems were (1) TIPM failed AFTER my warranty and had dealer replace for a lot of money! (2) I've had to replace tie rods multiple times. along with other front suspension components (3) Replaced the condenser (part that sits in front of the radiator) at 128k, and shortly after that the cooling fans exploded and I had to replace both the radiator and fan assembly. Only other issue I had to fix (under warranty) was recirculation fan at 65k miles because windows would constantly fog.
    The only things that still need to be fixed are (1) the driver side rear shock - its the Nivomat self-leveling shock which costs between $250-350 per shock! and (2) front & rear CV shafts; they are not bad, but the rubber boots are broken open and I know its only a matter of time before they get clogged with debris and start causing a clunking noise when making turns in the car.
    Thank God the 2008 300 models came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. My dealership told me the CV axles would be covered under this warranty when they eventually fail.

I made the decision to put in a complete rebuilt engine in the car. $5,500 later and the car is running great!I. I have over 333K miles on the car now. I have replaced front suspension part multiple times. It eats front suspension parts every 3 years. I've replaced all major components except for the transmission. Yes, I have replaced the driveshaft. I have also replaced the fans, as one of them burned up, and the other wasn't cooling the engine while stopped in traffic. I've also replaced the radiator. I have not replaced the throttle body, but that may have been replaced be the original owner. It's a daily driver still. I do have this annoying rattle on the passenger side near the cats that is a metal heat plate that covers the fuel lines I believe but it goes from around the cat up the fender and then down most the length of the car and I'm trying to secure it better it doesn't seem to have any way it attaches like it came glued-on or something I just want to put some sort of our TV and maybe heat padding and just push it in place cuz it rattles at idle when the car warms up. Also interior lights and trunk button not working and I replaced the fuse that is related but it wasn't even burned out. Is there a relay possibly? Because I don't want to mess with the cluster the way some people say.

    Had an '07 Magnum with 5.7 L and dropped a valve seat at 90k. Had to replace entire head. Chrysler dealer wanted $2400. My local mechanic did the job for $1200. Traded the car off after that for a Eco-Boost 3.5 Ford F 150. Love it to this day.

    I replaced all of my front suspension parts after my inner Tre Rods went out at 35K miles. Moog makes lifetime replacement parts for all of the front suspension and it's worth spending the 500 bucks on parts (that haven't broken yet) to fix the issues before they happen. 2016 Chrysler 300S Luxury Package (seriously no options missing, the only way they could make it better is if the hand cradled your balls while you drive)

    I would say for Chrysler in general, be careful about rust around the rear wheels. I’ve noticed that the rust is always starting above and behind the rear quarter panels. I’ve even noticed on a few different 300’s the rust generally starts in the same place.

    I have a 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8, 98k miles. I have had the cooling issue and we solved it by replacing the fans, putting a thicker hose on the radiator, and changing the thermostat to a 180 degree. I also have a Diablo tuner in her and we changed the temp at which the fans kicked on at. No problems with the throttle body. Suspension just started acting up. At one point I had 2 identical cars and the one had an issue with the pan under the front end. It ended up falling and dragging in the middle of the highway. It rubbed against my tires and everything. These cars can be amazing, and I would suggest the tuner so you can keep up on everything.

    The p1004 code that requires you to replace the entire intake manifold to truly fix the problem, you can take it apart and clean it the best you can replace the short runner sensor thing connected to the manifold it will temporarily erase the code but it will come back

    I've had suspension issues since a accident about 4 years ago. Good thing I have extended car care on my 08 but ita a constant battle fixing suspension. Replacement parts aren't that great but they work. Replacement bushings are horrible

    For the suspension, check the sway bar bushings and end links. I had the same noise on my 300. My bushings were fine but I replaced the end links and the noise went away.

    Having run 4 Chrysler Concordes for years, ball joint/lower control arm premature wear and sway bar bushings where regular items. Just had to live with it.Imported replacement parts play a BIG part of this issue. I'm a "driveway doer", but I've been at it for over 50 years

    Internal parts that are failing are made in Mexico...and quality control is nil...
    A manufacturer can't control certain quality issue's
    And all manufacturers suffer that issue.

    My 300 has a cooling fan issue. One of them doesn't work but when I swapped the plugs around, the one fan comes on but the other won't. I've switched the relays and they both checked out ok. Is it possible that the plug is bad?

    Another common problem on the 300 is the shifter interlock latch. When that little plastic part part breaks, you can't get the shifter out of park. A metal replacement part is available. Several repair videos are available on youtube.
